How does it work?
Her Story sits you in front of a mothballed desktop computer and logs you into a police database. Search through hundreds of video clips that cover seven interviews from 1994 in which a British woman is interviewed about her missing husband. Explore the database by typing search terms, watch the clips where she speaks those words and piece together her story.

The game has a big hug. You are supposed to watch videos to make out the story of the character but after playing any video you are stuck in it and cannot go back to main screen. Basically you cannot play the game ahead. And the last update was in 2016 so clearly the developer has not bothered to remove a simple bug. Don't purchase even though it's 1 dollar
The story is actually pretty cool but the game lacks direction and a clear goal. I had no idea what I was doing or why. I just kept looking at videos one after another, trying to find new videos through the search engine until a chat box popped up and next thing I knew, the game was over and the only satisfaction I got out of it was the simple fact that I did not have to "play" this game again.
Has a massive bug in which you play a video and you get stuck on the screen with static sounds in the background, and no way to get out except to close the game and start over, I'd put up with it in a free game, but not a paid. Asked for a refund within 5 minutes
Its buggy. Everytime i play video. There is no option to exit video. Video plays and we are stuck there unless we close the come. You make this paid app. Why should we waste our money? There should be option to close video or the experience is very negative.
Doesn't work on Android - plays the video then you can't close it and continue the game, it just hangs and nothing happens. Shame as it's supposed to be a great game, but it should be removed from the App store for mobiles until it's fixed!
when you can play it, it's an awesome game (I actually bought it twice). sadly the 2nd time was wasted as it doesn't run on latest Android versions (see other reviews). it's a shame. will make me think twice about buying other games from the same developers as I guess they are small, so once they move on to a new project it essentially becomes abandonware
On samsung s10 the game appears to be broken. Loads ok but after watching any video you cannot do anything, including closing the video to view another. Looks to be a known error based on message on developers site. I suggest you don't purchase until after fix.
I love FMV games. Unfortunately, this is not a game. Watching clips and figuring out new keywords is cool, but its also the ONLY thing to do. Even the game Desert Bus gave you a point for completing. For this game you simply decide when you've played enough, and THAT is the ending.
Started playing the game today! And Spent half an hour - there's so much to explore. love the story, conception and the whole idea. I see the mind behind Silent Hill Shattered Memories in action and, Sam you're just wonderful, man. Please do more I'll update the review when I'll go walk (query) through the game :) For start, some narration or video explanation would be helpful, but without it even increases the experience, but I guess lots of people might be scared away with this approach.
great game, awesome story. the story evolves quickly so it keeps you engaged. the way the story unfolds is up to the player but the dialogue and clues are good at keeping you on the rails at times. 5/5
This is not a game. You search through video clips to piece together a story. That is all. There is no end where you see the entire story or have the true story revealed. It is all open to your own interpretation. The interface is not plausible. You are searching archives where you can only see the 5 earliest clips returned by your search terms and no more. The entire game is to guess search words to find all the clips. This might have worked as a small puzzle within an adventure game.
I can't play this game because I can't exit videos once they play. The exit button just disappears. That's the main mechanic of the game so it's literally unplayable. Bummer, I was looking forward to it. I'm using a galaxy s21.
Same as all the other comments--couldn't exit a video once it finished. Just kept paused on the final frame. Had wonderful reviews for the computer but terrible for Android 😞
Don't bother if you have a Google Pixel. I thought the bug that freezes the game after exiting videos would be fixed by now, but it's not. Game is still unplayable for Google Pixel users.
Really bummed I bought this and it has a bug that makes it unplayable which hasn't been addressed for months. Google play won't let me refund either so now I'm just stuck with a broken app. Disappointed in both Google Play and Her Story.
Not sure of what this 'game' entails, really just kind of up in arms about it, but its not quite engaging enough for me to want to figure out what the point of this thing is. Maybe I'm just missing something completely, but idk and I'm not concerned enough with whether or not that is the case... uninstalled 4 refund
Does not work on my Pixel. I am excited to play this game and I believe the publishers are working to fix the issue. Any time I play a video, I cannot exit out of that video without restarting the entire game. Will update my review when I can play it!
love this game. it wont appeal to everyone but I love games that dont hold you by the hand and make you piece the puzzle together yourself. very simple and straightforward mechanic but engrossing. stayed up half the night playing when I downloaded this
Unfortunately this game is unplayable due to videos not playing and not being able to exit them to continue. It's real shame considering the good reviews it got. To late for a refund. Waste of money, Do not buy.
good game, good story it really pulled me in. I do wish you could make several different saves from the video clips so its easier to put them together. overal a good and interesting game
Can't even play the game it freezes after every video and seeing how I paid almost 7 damn dollars for it I'm mad don't download this game it and the developers don't care
Same problem as everyone else. Game is unable to play after first video. Have to close app and restart.
I couldn't put this down! The story that unfolds makes you feel the need to find out more. If it's purely fiction (which I hope it is) then it's an amazing game but if it was to be true then that would be totally different
Game premise is promising, and initial desktop and layout look good. But like many others have stated, after clicking a video to watch, there is no way to back out or leave screen to continue the game. If they fix it, it'll get a higher review. Until then, I asked for a refund and won't be purchasing the game again.
