Doesn't work. I can log onto the website but not the app. I get authentication error. Since I'm now paying for the overpriced online subscription it would be nice to have easy access.
Obituaries are never complete. Can get local news updates from channel 6 or 59 sooner. If it's not liberal ,or Democrat they don't cover it. The pop up adds are very annoying snd out of control. the app is even worse than the newspaper is.
For some reason the touch interface is all messed up. I can't even sign in.
This app constantly needs closed and reopened in order to load articles. Many of the headlines on the HTO website are missing from the Headlines or Recent icons. Sometimes in order to read an article I have to delete the app and redownload. (Subscriber for HTO online for 3+ years.)
It constantly either just locks up or takes forever to load.
News stories now days old. Obits don't load til next day. Perhaps it's time to consider investing in the app or suspend it.
App stopped working over a week ago. It keeps saying I'm not online when I am. Maybe this is how newspapers eventually die. They can't adjust!!!
Just like the newspaper itself. News that they get from a police scanner, the reporters obviously never leave their desks. Poorly researched, and poorly written, these numbskulls wouldn't know a story if it hit them in the face. Not to mention the garbage ads all over the website. Save your time and money. Read Facebook instead. You can't even read the stories. The app won't let you scroll down. But by God there's an add at the bottom that'll let you click it and be taken to another page. UPDATE: HTO Online does not even support landscape mode on tablets. FAIL. Come on...get in the 21st Century.
As of November 2014 still can't scroll to read anything on my android. Pitiful app.

I just wanted to see an obituary. But you have to have a full paid subscription. Totally stupid. Wish I could give no star.
I have repeatedly downloaded and uninstalled in hopes to stop the constant pop-ups for Free IPhones and Walmart cards. I pay for a subscription to access online, yet the app is poor quality and full of scams. With a subscription being required, HT could lay off the ads they allow so the readers could actually see articles. The app is worthless with the current ads.
