Hero

The machine is noisy and a bit of a pita to set up. But it does keep someone from forgetting their meds so it does what it is meant to do. The app‽ Is ok at times but a total worthless pile of #$%@ at others like when it locks up and keeps displaying the same screen over and over and never acknowledges that you have answered the stupid question 5000 times already. Shut down the app and reopen it and right back to the same screen and no way out.

Having issues with the app not talking to the machine. It's great when it's working.. and for medicine you would think that they would have 24 hour support, but the after hours "support" seems to simply be an answering service..at best. Answer your freaking phones when your customers call! With is with the mind numbing music to hold just later to be told "leave a message"

There is a learning curve before being completely confident in using the machine properly. I wish there was a setting that let you take your meds every 4, 6, 8, or 12 hours. On the plus side machine does help me keep my medications organized and makes the process easy.

Old fashioned method was to organize my medications 2 weeks at a time. This worked somewhat until one or more meds was due for a refill then that method was instantly broken. Now my Hero dispenses without a hitch and Hero's pharmacy keeps stocked. Been using this method for over a year now and it's definitely a zero fuss, zero stress win-win scenario for me. Recommend highly.

meh... It does what it says... barely. It's slow, it's loud, it will wake your partner up if they go to bed first, and the one option that would really make a huge difference is if you could just set it to spit out the pills at a pre set time without it having to ask first. I can literally get 9 pills out of 9 bottles faster than this thing. If it can at least have them ready so I can just walk up and grab them rather than waiting for this thing to grind, chug, and wheeze. Is that too much?

Love this machine but the app needs work. Pill counts often go wonky, especially the smaller pills saying I have 7 pills left but there are 74 in the cup. Or refilling 90 days worth, and 5 days later the pill count just say 'high'. I dislike constantly handling the pills to count and recount them. I've tried changing the pill count on the app and the machine, they just don't talk to each other.

Horrible machine issues from the day I received it they sent a replacement device that didn't work they offered to send a 3rd one and offer a free month I'm so tired of this I canceled my account and had them send me shipping labels to return both machines if you want to do business with them I wish you the best of luck but I'll never use them again

The app is decent but the customer service and level of petty is unbelievable. Definitely would not recommend this service to anyone. They are very pushy and threatening but will not do anything to help resolve the issue. They call me multiple times a day and email me but will not provide a solution. Rated the app, not the service.

I use to love this but the app hasn't let me move or select any tabs to view different things like meds, etc. For about a couple of weeks now. Not very happy.

This is a horrible app. Needlessly complicated, it also has the problem of constantly losing the login so that I am always having to log back in. A minor annoyance, but an annoyance all the same. If I had to do it again, I would not get a Hero.

Overall a good machine but I wish the pill quantity was displayed on the main medicine screen without clicking through each one. Once you get through the list of 10 pills to see which is low I forget and have to click through the entire list again. A quantity column should be added on the main medicine screen.

Hero is my hero when it comes to taking my meds. It's so easy to use even if you may be computer or smart phone illiterate . I strongly urge the use this product.

I agree with other reviews that this app is complicated and it really shouldn't be. The machine also doesn't pick up all my medication properly and they did sent a replacement after going back and forth with customer service for a few weeks. They still tried to charge me after they gave me a two month free trial for the inconvenience. I don't recommend Hero. I plan to go back using my regular machine organizer and have it right beside my nightstand. Simple and effective!

HERO is a the TRUTH! My husband and I are caregivers for his mom. The HERO device and the app have single handedly changed our lives. Gone are the days of manually filling pill packs and helping his mom keep track of her medication schedule. That was becoming untenable. Set up was easy. Found a YouTube video for instructions. The HERO app is well designed. Customer service, five stars. I genuinely cannot imagine what our life would be like without it. We are customer for life! Super satisfied!

Trash app and device. Really annoying. I pour an entire bottle of medicine in and the stupid machine and app will says its empty forever.

Best. Purchase. Ever! We have an epileptic in our home, as well as someone who takes sleep meds that have to be closely monitored, and I, myself, have dementia so remembering everyone's dosing times and quantities is a real challenge. This machine helps out so much! It keeps track of all the medications, shows alerts, and even notifications when something is dispensed. The app is clearly defined and easy to use. Such a huge help! Love it!

The machine itself is super noisy, but I am on a lot of medications and it's such a pain doing that myself, even to refill a thing each week. The app was stuck on the "did you take your 7:30 medication" for about 24 hours. Nothing I didn't made it go away, but I opened the app the next day and it went away itself. So that was kind of sucky! (I have their email and number in case that happens again though!). Besides that, everything in the app is so easy to use!

Why can't you take screenshots within this app? Not sure I'm comfortable with this feature. I had a question about an improperly timed dispense and I wanted to forward the screenshot to support but it won't let me.

This company is horrible I canceled my account in Febr. Here it is Aprl without warning they took money out of my account. Now my phone is going to b shut off. And my account is negative. Do not use them. Reason for cancelation was I found out my insurance will pay for in home medical service free to me.

My stress level dropped dramatically after setting up here and working with my mom to make her comfortable with it. She wasn't crazy about it at first but now realizes the positive advantages of having her meds automatically dispensed for her. This would be the perfect app if it had the ability to dispense missed meds when needed. It happens when mom is out for a walk or shopping at times and walking her through the process of dispensing missed meds over the phone can be challenging🙄

Noisy during operation, but had worked well & been a great help. But - Now it will not show if pills were taken or missed. Only shows "coming up" on All doses, regardless if taken or not. We've checked WiFi & apps & interconnection - All are good & proper. Ran app originally from my wife's iphone 11. But with the problems, we installed the app Fresh on my Android 10. Still the same problem! You get a low score because your phone help people do nothing but argue with us & say its our fault. FIX!

I love my hero! I'm on so many medications and it's such a huge help to remember them, even the ones outside my hero.

The Hero is awesome and using it as a patient works fine. However I cannot for the life of me set up a caregiver. Hero support has not been helpful. So I can't use the app to its fullest possibilities. Edit: after the app update I reached out again to hero support and finally got the caregiver part working. Its AWESOME!! This device and app have been a lifesaver.

Finally, a machine that I can dispense my meds with and NOT wake up my wife in the morning. I noticed it quieter when I first dispensed my meds when I received the replacement machine. My wife noticed it when she dispensed my meds for me when I was working and couldn't get to them until after i got home. She even commented on the quietness of the machine. I'll give 5 stars for the quiet ness, but since it is a replacement machine, will have to wait on the review until I have used it for at least a month or so to see if this one dispenses doble doses of my meds as the original machine was doing. I will get back to this review closer to June this year.

The monthly fee is actually a year long subscription that you can't get out of. I would much rather pay twice the price without the subscription fee. Customer support told me basically they my device was a brick and to return it if you can't afford it.

The Hero medication dispenser has changed my life. The app is well designed and carefully walks you through adding medication. Subsequent use is easy and straightforward. I hope they add some more functionality but it covers all the bases right now.

It would be nice to be able to dispense meds even after the allotted time frame. Sometimes can be difficult to navigate, definitely something older patients need help from someone more tech savvy.

1 bug report and two suggestions. Bug report: the app is not working, I keep being prompted if I have taken my medication even after I confirm I have. The prompt prevents me from using the other features in the app. Suggest: for refills ask for the pill count after loading the medications. For larger pills you don't always know how many will fit until you load them. Suggest: there should be a way to pause a medication as of a certain date, instead of just deleting the entire schedule.

I like the idea of not having to open 7 medicine bottles at night and of medicine bottles in the morning as I have hand problems and loosing all hand strength. However, the app and the machine are a bit primitive. We should be able to dispense using the app. The menu is not user friendly. Having issues accessing the "when needed" medication. I literally have to open the machine and locate the medication manually.

I feel like I'm beta testing this whole experience. It took two weeks to get the unit set up. The hardware is great. But when pills get low, they frequently stop dispensing. The app doesn't alert you to low pill quantities automatically. The integration with AdhereRX is clunky. Support is spotty. Be prepared to ask the same questions multiple times.
