I can't really recommend this game. Perhaps it's because I've played more recent Trese Bros games and this one doesn't compare favourably. Ultimately that's testament to how much their games continue to improve. For an RPG the early stages are just too slow and grindy. You have to fight the same enemy again and again, using the same limited tactics. The loot and level ups give minor upgrades, so it just feels like there's nothing to look forward to. I recommend Trese's sci-fi games over this.
Nice tactical RPG, quite simpified compared to the likes of Baldurs Gate etc. but then again very in-depth compared to 99% of mobile games. Great story telling and the controls are just right for mobile devices. If you enjoy the more classic RPGs and want something to play while not having access to your PC this might be for you with tons of hours of gameplay and decent replayability. Enemy variety is a bit lacking but it does a good job of placing you in diverse combat scenarios.
Talking simulator. It has some walking elements too, but you'll be too busy skipping thousands of random conversations to have much time to work on your quadriceps. If you're lucky you will finish a whole section before being forced into the next chapter. But you will never find a pickup you need, so exploring isn't important anyway. Best bet is to walk directly to conversations and hope it saves sometimes.
Well... Good game, but becomes repeatative kinda fast. Tactical combat is flat, but the hero's skill development is nice. Unfortunately, i got stock in an infinite turn-based combat mode when the game detected unseen enemies. Tried to find them for a few hours and gave up since moving a party of 4 in turn based mode is not my idea of fun.
This game is now on my list of terrible never to replay games and will dissuade me from ever getting a game from this developer again. This game has an absolutely terrible system for hitting an opponent. Hitting is an extremely rare event against most enemies but they never seem to fail hitting for 2-3 times as much damage as you can deal. How do so many enemeies all have the ability to shoot farther than the farthest range abilities of the characters and through barriers, which you cannot do.
Functional, straightforward tactics rpg. I enjoyed the classic themes and art. However, tactics and battles lack variety; battles are grindy and slow. Choke point, check. Debuffs, check. Chip, chip, chip away at the baddies. Mainly an exercise in concsientious team management. Few interesting options for team development; maybe IAP characters are more versatile, but base characters have a pretty inflexible role to play. Most people probably have better ways to spend their time.
I enjoy the gameplay; the strategy is satisfying. I just need more info! I can't find my characters' complete parry rating and I would like to see all stats in one spot, instead of scattered about their character page in a confusing way.
I love turn based strategy games like this. It reminds me of the old Sega Genesis shining Force days. One complaint I do have is that even with display set at maximum resolution the font is difficult to read. I am a visually impaired person so although I don't need gigantic font a little bit larger would be appreciated.
The Trese brothers have done it again! I like the style of their games and the fact that you get what you pay for and not some trap like other games where it's anyone's guess on how far you can get with the initial price of the game. Good job you two, and I hope to see some new games from y'all in the future. To anyone else deffinetly buy them for the small price, that way you don't spend money on a game that makes you send more just to keep going! Thanks!!
Old school with an actual story behind it as I impatiently wait for Dragon Age 4❤️kinda like IWD or BG and other then just replaying all my old Rpgs on pc an older consoles this is nice to have on tablet, thanks keep up the good work. Love it one of the better ones so far, great back story and the storyline is very good not long into but no regrets. Thank you
So far so good. The levels are a bit long, but I'm enjoying the storyline. Also instead of making people buy the Paladin and the other special characters, why not let them be unlocked after finishing hard mode? It seems a little too greedy to make people pay for the game and then have to pay for the character classes. Would have given 5 stars otherwise.
An oldschool, tactical RPG with a worthy story! Sadly it is neither resized for touchscreen, nor does it offer auto-combat, or voice-overs. Minor joke: The alternate characters must be purchased, while in the free version we could just test them. Oh, and the Ratmen faction cannot be played at all. ;-)
A solidly made tactical turn based rpg with fun combat set in a fantasy world where humanity has been driven under ground. The story is interesting enough to keep you engaged and there are enough skills in the class skill trees to give you enough room to experiment with different tactics on the battlefield . The Trese Bros games are well made and regularly updated too.
It's a fun game with a solid story line and graphics. No exaggerated anime characters or silly voice acting. The games the Trese brothers make aren't like most mobile games, and each one is better than the last. I believ this is one of their older ones, and I'm really looking forward to a possible sequel.
I think there's 2 choices with phone games. Free with ads and cash grabs or, like this, small upfront cost and that's it. It's a quality game with so much depth I can't recommend enough. Great developer who responds quickly too which is a bonus
I've played this game 3 times so far. change up the characters and it's a different experience each time. play only nightmare. strategy, hp and sp a must. Don't re-stat till level 18. Wish there was a similar game but old west setting.
Fantastic game in a small package. Epic story and worldbuilding, intuitive fighting mechanics, smart pathfinding, and varied character development paths. Artwork is quirky but ultimately charming. Highly recommended.
Turn based rpg at it's best. Mechanics are awesome, storyline is great, graphics could use some work but are pretty amazing considering it is made by a 2 person team. Worth all of the 5 stars, worth buying the full game. :)
I'm a big fans of trese brothers game such as star trader series, but this one is on my bottom list. The battles are really repetitive. After a few hours its getting boring for me. Even the lore and story are not really that good if you compare it to star trader. I want to give it 1 stars but since Cory made another good game, ill just leave it at 3 stars here.
Excellent game. Graphics serve their purpose, and are charming enough. Heaps of content. Numerous updates and balance changes. Gets a little tedious later on.
Love everything about this game you can tell they put a lot of time and work into it. great storyline great gameplay definitely a five-star for me. I hope they make another one like this game or a part two of this one would be awesome. I do really appreciate this game you guys have done an awesome job on it.
A great turn based RPG. Simple to play, but with good depth. In addition, the story is interesting and motivates you to save your team.
Very slow growth, huge and long duration zones with not much variation in loot drops (chests). Boring, slow process and fights. Story is OK (1 star).
An engaging experience! Heroes of Steel is a turn-based RPG that sees you controlling a group of four heroes in an underground, post-apocalyptic civilisation. Combat and character customization are surprisingly in-depth, with many types of equipment, skills and builds. The story and setting are also quite unique. Devs are great, and put out lots of updates! However, the dungeon crawling drags on a bit, and this game takes ages to play. Though that might be a plus if you like lots of content!
