Heroic Battle
Heroic Battle is easy to learn. Each game is different. You and your opponent set up your flags, bombs and other pieces and then venture out to try to capture the other’s flag. But the catch is, you only learn the identity of your opponent’s pieces during attacks. Many of the pieces—miners, scouts, the spy—have special properties that you’ll discover as you play.
One of the great features of Heroic Battle is that you can create and save your own setups. Each setup produces a different kind of game. Do you prefer fast, wide open play or a slower more conservative pace? Do you want to fortify your flag and defend it or just hide it somewhere and dare your opponent to find it? It’s up to you.
Heroic Battle is fun to play with a friend. All you need is a local Wi-Fi network, no Internet connection required. One of you taps to create a game and the other taps to join it. Simple as that.
Or you can play against Probe, the built-in computer opponent. Probe is the three-time Computer Stratego World champion, which makes it one of the best AI game engines available. Probe is suitable for play from beginners to experts and can be set to your skill level.

Excellent game, well done! I'd like to make some requests for game updates: 1) If Memory Aid is enabled, and a piece moves more than one square, we know it's a scout. Go ahead and reveal it. 2) If Memory Aid is enabled, and a piece moves AT ALL, we know it's not a bomb. Put some kind of small "I moved" indicator on it. 3) Similar indicators if the computer knows one if our pieces, or saw it move. Those would be VERY helpful to me, and in the spirit of the memory aid option, I think.

Thanks a million!! +1 Third, the "Memory Aids" feature is a great concession by the dev, providing the option for players (like me) that enjoy Stratego, but can't even begin to remember all the discoveries and moves of a game. So, thanks!! Even with Memory Aids, Stratego (here, Heroic Battle) is still challenging, esp. to people like me that aren't tuned to remembering 30 moves in the past. +1 So, raising the rating from 2 to 5! MUCH APPRECIATION for the updates! Love the game.
I love stratego. This game is the most realistic as playing with a human player, I have seen so far. My previous issue of permanent revealing was heard and now able to toggle it on or off for all difficulty levels. Thank you to the design team for making the change in only 2 months!!
It's an okay game. close as you can get to stratego without paying for it. however, the game cheats. last game, i was left with my 10 and a 3 still on the board and i had captured all the probes higher pieces (or they were on the opposite side of my 10). I was moving my 10 around to capture one of the probes remaining pieces (and it was between 5 spaces which is MORE than the 3 spaces/moves allowed in a row) and the DEFEAT popped up saying "You have no more useable moves" except I did. Stupid.
This game is not fixed. It does not save user ID after app close (which it did until recent updates) - meaning user name, setups, scores, etc. are ALL lost on EACH app exit. Imagine having to re-establish all that before EACH use. FB login does NOT help - appears not to be functional at all. This was a good game - possibly even best in class - before these problems. I will change score to 4-5 of 5 if these fixes are installed. Will even be happy to contribute or purchase again, if these problems are resolved. UPDATE 12/9/20: The problem appears to be fixed. Given that, I'll reiterate my positive comment, and change review to 4 stars. A suggestion to developer - give player choice of game piece color. Red OR blue (or other?). Thanks.
over all id say this is a well developed app. it is addictive, fun & has a perfect balance of skill level game play n single player mode however i would like 2 see the multiplayer mode be optional w/ only a internet connection & not require the connection be through wifi. i also am unable 2 save my progress 2 an email. the app freezes up if i select the facebook option & you dont have an option 2 return 2 the begining facebook save page. last gripe the arrow @ the top takes you all the way back
Based on my testing, Local Multiplayer doesn't seem to work at all. I tried with an Android phone and a Chromebook w/ the Android app installed (same WiFi access point). I also tried with an iPad and the Chromebook (same WiFi access pont). Local Multiplayer doesn't work for me with either of the above setups.
Frequent and random ad pop ups make it almost unplayable. Some ads are inappropriate. I understand you need ads, but they shouldn't pop up at random constantly when I am in the middle of a move so I accidently click on the ad instead. Just had 3 ads pop up in less than 2 minutes. Stay away till this is fixed.
Local multiplayer doesn't work at all in latest version Nov 2021. It does not recognize moves from opponent so game cannot continue after the very first move. It keep showing waiting for opponent
The app works great, IMO the game is too easy. I have tried to make it competitive but it's not. I expect the expert level to be able to outwit me occasionally but it doesn't happen. I am by far NOT an expert on strategy games.
Way too hard. Says beginner as easiest difficulty. Been playing this kind of game for years and the lowest level is way too hard. And don't like how it reveals who is who after a piece is attacked. No other style plays that way totally ruins my playing style. Some how the 10 magically knows everytine which one my spy is, everytime.
Computer stalls forever and won't ever go without you going first. It only goes when it has the advantage. It continuously marches it pieces back and forth until you attack or make an agressive move. Very annoying! If you do the same thing the game never advances.
The game just plain sucked. Laggy, predetermined layouts, no players for 1v1, and Adds before you even make your first move. And this probe is just that a probe, not an AI. Which means it knows all possible moves from start to finish and acts accordingly even on easy.
Tough Opponent. Excellent AI. I played another Stratego game for 2 months before I found this one. I never lost. But Heroic Battle at intermediate level... I only win 1/3 of the time. Love the challenge. Well done.
It's a nice game for the Stratego lovers and for free. I wanted to give it a 4.5 (minus half a point for beating it every time) but the rating it has on the store is not realistic. It's a 4+ game.
Excellent game. But I have an issue : my last 9 games were a win but I didn't get any points at all and also didn't increase my winning strick..... After all these days of playing normally, again I have the same problem. Instead of counting my wins I don't get anything. Spenting time to the game for... Nothing! Please fix that.......!!! And again, the same problem...winning strick increase but no other points! please guyyyss... Solve that problem.please!Does anybody take care about the game?????
Super addictive :) Raimonds, how can I scroll through more set ups? It only shows me the first 4 set ups in each page. Also can you put an option to lock on portrait mode? I play this game for hours so when I shift around in bed the game flips
An enjoyable free game of Stratego which is true to the board game's original rules. Thanks to the developer for a smooth playing experience. Hopefully, there will be other game board conversions in the near future. Please add the option to save your game to the cloud securely.
kicks out of network 8 times out of 10. Not able to complete a game. this is during multi player mode. sometimes not enough time to build field.
It is getting very difficult select to use any setup of my choice by scrolling the mobile screen because it is not working.I cannot select all set up from 1 to 10 . After 1 to 3 , 11 no. Setup is coming because I cannot scroll the screen.
I tried to add this game to the "Amazon for kids" tablet of my juniors. It does not show into their account, although it shows well and it is playable on the adult account. I need to mention that I bought the full subscription for my phone (the ads are really annoying) but it is impossible to buy it on Amazon tablet (inactive buttons). But it works on the adult account on the same Amazon tablet. I wonder whether the app was tagged somehow as "not child friendly" by the Amazon?
1) Lost all my saved setups and won't reload. Frustrating Paid user 2) I don't have my android set up to auto rotate screen but this app goes to landscape. Frustrating
App is a scam. Beware !!! If you purchase anything as soon as an update occurs you will lose your purchases and all of your progress. I contacted the developer and he replied that I would have to repurchase my settings. This app should be shut down.
AI Cheats I played for a while and found out pretty quickly the AI moves and attacks as if it knows were all you pieces are. If you leave an opening the AI will snipe your spy with a scout.
I played many similiar stategic board games. It is so very cool you put this one to video game for my little android to handle. Your ever learning bots and achievent metals rank this "game" 5(+) stars. Never boring for the thinkers even though its not a fast paced bangbang war game it is more like 3d chess. My Space Army shall defeat the enemy and we will all find peace, no matter how many Heroic Battles it will take to win this WARgame
Could not start my first match without an advertisement. If I want to watch ads I will watch TV. "Developer response: We are sorry for this, but to continue work on this free app we need revenue from Ads. If you don't want to see the Ads you can purchase Heroic Battle Complete in-app purchase. Thanks for your understanding!" "revenue from ads" You would get more revenue if you let people play the game and enjoy it before farming pennies from them. Truly a company I want to fund and indorse (Sarcasm). There are many more games that are free that provide a much more enjoyable ad/gameplay ratio and some other games that want you to play the game to see if they want to fund them. Those companies and independent developers are more apt to make enjoyable games and receive my business.
It's very similar with the original table game. You should add an online multiplayer option to be more competitive, the AI is too easy
game keeps bugging. every time I get an achievement it freezes. nice frustration when I'm trying to kill time
I downloaded with excitement. Then when I open it the screen goes black and nothing happened. The app owner quickly responded and it works now.
Great, basically the way stratego should be, love the original classic ranking system too. Tough AI / a good difficult smart cpu the way it should be, and really great music. I'd give it a 5 if there was more music and maybe a volume control for both music and sound effects... and if this one problem is fixed and that problem is that I can't find a way to edit / delete / change the name I put in, nor can I put in a new name, Why? Basically the name that I put in is locked in. Please fix that.
