The app is great for the most part. The only complaint I have is that the "take me there" function is a bit confusing unless you are really zoomed in. Young kids are slow walkers and it makes the direction you're walking difficult to determine sometimes. Other than that everything is very helpful and accurate.
Hershey's one stop shop for everything you need at Hersheypark. The map was especially useful. Occasionally the "View Hersheypark Map" button would not work and the app needed to be restarted. Also, they make an 'attempt' to keep up-to-date wait times at all their rides; a clever addition, and sometimes useful, but also sometimes wildly inaccurate (e.g. by 40 min).
Wait times are no longer accurate, and take a while to load. Some said 10min and were 90min. App in 2019 worked pretty well for wait times, so whatever changed between then and 2021 makes that portion unusable. Also the filter function for rides resets too easily, forcing you to pick it over and over. Also, there should be a filter for food type. Right now it's handy to have a map but that's about it.
Very inconsistent last year. Rides would report 15-30 minutes wait times, when I could infact walk right on sometimes. On occasion it would report a ride was closed when it was not. I would bet those aren't the apps fault, more likely whatever system Hershey Park uses to collect the data is glitchy. Also the map needs some work, it wanted me to walk though a wall a few times. Overall it was mostly correct.
Useless! Filter errors constantly pop up even when not using filters. Does NOT give ride wait times or let you search for rides by height requirements. No GPS style walking directions, just shows a hard to find You Are Here dot and let's you figure it out from there. Map lacks detail so hard to figure out which direction to walk first. Very disappointing. Developer has never used a Universal app. This one is only for selling you ride upgrades.
One of the best amusement/theme park apps I've used. GPS enabled walking directions are wonderful and the up-to-the-second ride wait times are all what make this the best theme park app I've used. We are regular visitors to Kings Island, Cedar Point, and Dollywood and their apps don't compare. I did have occasional glitches that just required I shut the app down and restart it. It also does not seem to run my battery down at all.
Was ok, nothing special. I tried to use it to navigate the park. Worked well for that. Suggestion for Hersheypark: Identify your attractions with numbers (stores, vendors, etc. with signs) and use these on the paper park maps and the online maps. Would make it much easier to follow. Also, install wifi in the park to encourage use of the app.
The idea of this app is great and some of it works well, but it's definitely got issues. Certain filters just don't work (unchecking water rides doesn't actually remove them from the list), and other functions like the ride showing your eligible riders is just plain broken, showing that everyone is eligible for everything. Meanwhile, other things are unbearably slow. Hopefully they can iron these issues out, but I would expect better QA from a big company like Hershey.
Some good and some bad. The good: a lot of information and good information about how to get to rides for people who need that (I used to work st HP so I didn't use that feature). The bad: the ride wait times information is poor. either the information doesn't refresh or the app just does not work accurately. The app told us rides were 60 or more minutes only for us to find them at only a 5 or 10 minute wait. This happened on numerous rides.
This App is easy to manage. It has everything I need for before entering the park and being in the park.
Best feature should be the wait time but times are not even remotely accurate.
We used it all summer without a problem, but on our November visit the app froze and crashed several times. Not sure what happened. And while the app gives an idea of open rides and wait times, it isn't as reliable during the fall when fewer rides are open - kid rides would say open and then we would get to the ride and it was closed.
this app is so good it shows you the map of the park and all the rides and more!I wold Defanatly recommend this app!
it's a fun place to be. and if you're a season holder buy the meal and drink plan,it's a great deal. 😀
The most useful thing about this app would be the live ride wait time/notification feature. unfortunately i found it to be generally very inaccurate and I only seemed to get a notification of a ride having a less than 15 minute wait only when the ride closed. therefore i found this app pretty useless for my trip. not recommended.
My main reason for using the app is for the picture pass, but for unknown reasons, the app trlls me the webpage for my photos is unavailable. I've uninstalled the app several times, but continue to get the same error. The kid at the picture desk had no idea how to help, and seemed overwhelmed at the ifea of finding someone who could help me.
it is good but a bit inaccurate at times and dose not give you elevation. but if it was just the map and where you are on it, that would still be pretty useful but it also lists the rides, food, and attractions so it's good... just the two things.
the app is moderately useful but it grossly miscalculates wait times on most all of the rides. app said farenheit is a 60 minute wait. weve been in line over an hour and there's still at least 30 minutes left before we reach the end. its been that way with everything except the monorail wait
The live map was great to direct you to rides, restaurants, you name it. Also it showed what rides were open, and the wait times for some of them. I was an employee so these tools were awesome. Definitely recommend for anyone going to the park, in case you get lost, if nothing else!
We have season passes and have found that the wait times are inaccurate and it doesn't show all the rides that are open. The rides are also not listed in alphabetical order. It useful for the map but I have been going to the park since I was in kindergarten so I don't need it for most things.
This app definitely made my day at the park much more efficient. I could easily pull up a list of rides that my kids could ride by height, and organized the list by distance. If there were in-app discounts and a way to check off the rides we had already done on the list, it would have gotten 5 stars!
The wait times are never accurate, not even remotely. It's the only reason I downloaded the app. At least the list of open rides and open food vendors is usually correct, but if you are looking for wait times it's a hard pass on this app.
Unhelpful. Map is slow; there's no Search on the map. Wait times are completely wrong - says "10 minutes" but it's 1 hr. Most of the app is just add for upsells, and map that isn't very usable.
I found the app very unhelpful for navigation but helpful in describing the different rides and places. The rides needed more explanation that the map could provide. But the map was easier for navigation.
this app has potential! but the estimated ride wait times are not accurate at all and they are only for the main rides. decent map though and ride list and being able to filter out the rides by height is nice.
Wait time is useless. Show 90mins, we were in line 135mins, another one shows 60 mins, we waited 150mins. App us useless and park is not worth to come
For some reason it'll randomly stop telling me wait times for rides even if I didn't change any settings, which is like of annoying. I didn't change any filters for it to change that.
Lots of room for improvement. In particular the wait time function is wildly inaccurate. So much so that we stopped checking the time on the app during our visit. If it's going to be that unreliable I recommend removing the feature until it can be resolved. Otherwise the map is great.
