Terrible and slow service. I can't get receipt right away because they're lazy to even close your rental when you return car, you need to wait 72h. And at the same time you can't change your payment card at the end of the rental. They can really make it so complicated!!! There are better and easier services, I'll stop using theirs for sure

Horrible customer service. Whenever you want to speak with a person, they charge you. Their app rarely works properly. I use the biometrics and it usually says thwy are having service issues. This isn't a phone issue, it's a management issue, an app issue and a customer service issue. I use another company on a regular basis and if it wasn't for the fact that company was out of cars, I wouldn't have bothered with Hertz in the first place. Awful, flat out awful.

🤦🏾‍♀️ Seriously! We are in Q2 of 2022 and this app is still extremely glitchy and hit or miss. To frustrate the customer before they can even make a reservation is not good. This is a sign of what is taking place internally with the company. You can tell when an organization is moving from serving customers to serving B2B/Corporations/Large Contracts/Fleets to increase profits. Oh well, let's see how Avis is moving in the market.

The contact information is useless, all the "separate" numbers for specific needs go to a 'press 1 for .. press 2 for... Press 3 for.... number. Getting a person on the phone is ridiculously impossible and they love to direct you to the app [for 'help'] and that appears to be useful for ... NOTHING!!

I love every aspect of Hertz & their app. I rent from Bakersfield California on 24th Street and the young girls behind the counter are very polite and very professional even when a crowded waiting room is frustrated. They do their best to get everyone out ASAP and they always walk me around the car to make sure there are no flaws and they are extremely patient when customers have questions. The app is very easy to work with and I'm a gold member so I just love everything about it.

How in the world can you not allow signups using a debit card despite rentals being allowed on one? I can't even use the app because it wants a different card than I used on my rental, which itself has been an excercise in patience to keep using. Hertz sure has a way of making people hate them, like arresting paying customers, making bs reasons to not extend a rental, and wasting entire days of work just to get anything done with them. Every interaction I have with hertz reminds me they're💩💩💩

The app has suddenly become useless. The last week, even when I delete the app, reinstall it (I have done this several times) the app does not allow me to log in (stating it is "experiencing issues). Not very helpful since I am traveling and renting from Hertz tomorrow. So disappointed.

Renting cars is fine. More or less. Receipt viewing doesn't work at all. It just provides an error about being unable to open a PDF without opening anything. And this is apparently the only way to provide feedback about problems with the app. Support is really only about the actual rentals rather than their major app and website issues

App has been horrendous the past 5 months. Hertz lost quite a bit of business I'd they are relying on their customers to reserve vehicles by using their app. I know I have tried numerous times to reserve since my last reservation, when the app worked, back in November. Figured it would have been fixed by now but my guess is that Hertz no longer cares about it's customers. Just going through the motions.

Do not use this app to book your rental reservations unless you want to loss your reward points when it crashes! The app crashed when confirming my reservation that I was paying for with reward points and when I reopened the app I had no reservation but my reward points had been taken. I called customer service and they do not know what to tell me. Now I am out 1500 reward points and left to pay in full for my reservation...

I downloaded the "upgrade" several weeks ago. It didn't carry over my membership login. And has told me they are having "service difficulties" every one of the 10+ times I've tried yo use it. It obviously wasn't tested before being rolled out.

If you want to see a message saying "We are experiencing server issues, please try again later" this is the app for you! That's the only thing it does reliably. If instead you want to book a car rental, then this app works... less well.

Very frustrating! First... trying to log in.. for 3 days straight it tells me technical issues. That is a problem, you can have you app down for 3+ days. I can't reach anyone in customer services for any help in extending or modifying my reservation. This is a let down

Was denied a rental even when using the same credit card used to reserve the car. Agent had no interest or effort in resolving the problem or working with me at all. Simply said I was locked out and there was nothing he could do. Had a fun time trying to get home from the airport. Thanks Hertz, will be sure to check elsewhere for cars.

I cannot believe how difficult a modern company is making it for me to know that they recieved my order. I placed an order for a rental and was never notified of confirmation, their website's email confirmation system didn't work, customer service sent me to a phone number that sent me to this app. What an absolute run around for nothing. I'll never rent from hertz again.

Disappointing App Experience. Made a reservation fine, but trying to extend rental, or make any other changes or even add a new reservation once you've done one with the app crashes it. "Technical difficulties" abound and it won't even recognize login info no matter how many times you delete and reinstall. This app has really not been great since it's release, and problems plague it. Not sure what other people are reviewing on here. When it works, great; but often, doesn't.

I am able to log in, and it shows my reservation, but the confirm # is different than the one in my confirm email, and when I try to modify I get an "oops we are having system issues" message... for days now. The website does not even show my reservation. Hertz Tochless app can't find it either. Clearly they have major software development issues. I am perplexed as to how they can accept a user experience such as this. App is essentially worthless.

Had to drop it to 2 stars. The app is almost useless if you want to reach customer service. No one answers the phone. Setting up a reservation is great but getting in contact with anyone is the trick. Also adding a 5% charge to speak to someone over the phone, Hertz you are better than that. Why not add an instant message/Chat feature to answer certain questions.

Downloaded the day I have a reservation. Very glitchy used the link from my reservation email to check in, instead of waiting in line for 45 minutes. It either can't find resevation or won't finish the check-in. I get half way through checking in and then app won't finish, when I try to redo the check in and it can't find reservation. Don't expect this app to speed up any service! I am writing this while continuing to wait in line.

Not very useful. It doesn't appear to have any ability to pull your reservations from your account and when I've tried to manually add them, it can't. I needed directions to the rental location at an airport and the app said to see the rental agreement... but I didn't have one yet.

Can't log in on the app. The hertz website login works fine, but the app just flashes "logging in" then stays on login page. If I try anything else, it just pops a message saying "we are experiencing service issues" repeatedly. I haven't been able to log into the app for weeks. Uninstalled and reinstalled, still the same issue. I have an android and it used to work fine. Now I can't use it at all. Is anyone working on this? Other posts report the same thing.

The app appears to still be experiencing difficulties, will start, but logging in is not working, requesting your ID or trying to reset your password is not working. Is this a known issue, I see previous reports that you guys are reporting this internally, but this has been going on for awhile and there doesn't seem to be any acknowledgement of the problem... Edit: Appears it is sporadic, got it to actually login, I will remain cautiously optimistic for awhile, I'll update again when the situation improves

Difficult to find existing reservations. If you ope to modify it acts strange and I have to shut down my phone completely to get out of that section. App needs help with intuitive actions.

Pretty chill except the app isn't in sync with web site like if I make a reservation online in the web page it will not translate over to the app which gets annoying to have to manually add in the details to find your booking number and blah blah blah. Tedious. And I just subject myself to this unnecessary routine every time because I just prefer to book online instead of the app . The app is just laggy in my opinion and the prices are unclear and literally can change from hundreds to tens SIKE

Keeps saying it is having issues multiple times a day. When it does work it doesnt always show the correct price when you edit your reservation. Only way to get it to work right is to literally make a whole new reservation and delete the older one. Needs much improvement

Poor service and false advertisement. They don't honor they're rental agreement upon picking up the car. We pick a full size suv for a 7 passenger in advance and on the day of picking it up. They told us that we couldn't get that specific suv because they only take credit card for that specific suv. Instead they gave us a midsized suv 5 passenger since we are paying it with a debit card. Will not be renting from them ever again period.

Refuses to open or download PDF of receipts. Claims there is no app on device to open PDFs, when I have several but it gives no options to choose how to open. Broken.
