"Setup" user interface needs a little update. Spent about half an hour trying to add my Cafe appliance. Kept trying to tap the add other device not knowing you could scroll down for different options. Thought tapping other device would create a drop-down. Finally scrolled down by accident and it set up fine after that.
I found it fairly easy to pair my phone with my cookware and induction burner. There are a good variety of recipes, and I have found the recipes that I've cooked so far to be quite good. Once I've selected the recipe and started to cook, I find that the process works quite well. I especially appreciate the videos accompanying each step which really help to clarify what is intended to be done. However, there are a few shortcomings that I think could be easily addressed which would make the app significantly better: 1. Searching for recipes can sometimes be a chore. In particular, I wish that you could filter recipes by the equipment you have. It allows you to filter by the smart cookware/probe, but you have to do this every time you search. I wish that you could set it to filter by some default set of cookware, perhaps which ones you have paired with the app. I also wish you could similarly filter for Thermomix and sous vide recipes. It would also be helpful to be able to filter by ingredients, or at least certain key ingredients. 2. The recipes use almost exclusively volumetric measurements for ingredients. I think at least putting an equivalent weight of ingredients (grams and/or ounces) would be helpful. Many ingredients are easier to measure out by weight (like sugar and flour) and purchases of many ingredients are made in units of weight rather than volume (such as cheeses). 3. While I like the general idea of mix and match recipes pairing a protein with appropriate sauces, the execution of this leaves much to be desired. First, you are not able to filter by the equipment you have. In addition it would be very helpful to be able to open up the individual recipes in order to see the ingredients, cooking time, equipment etc. However, this pretty basic functionality is currently lacking. 4. I wish that there was some way to rate/review recipes to better be able to identify some of the more exceptional recipes. I think at least being able to rate based on things like easy of use, the actual amount of time it required to make the recipe, the quality of the final product etc would be helpful. It would also make it easier to provide feedback for recipes that might help the recipe development team to tweak recipes to improve them. 5. It would be nice to have some way to make custom recipes. I have many recipes that I like to make that I think would be easily adapted to the Hestan Cue and would benefit from the sort of streamlining that a guided recipe allows. While it would be helpful just to have my own custom recipes, the additional ability to share recipes with others would also be helpful and have the potential to significantly increase the range of recipe options. I am hopeful that the developers will respond to feedback and work to improve the app because I really enjoy cooking with my Hestan Cue.
Supposed to help with recipes, but one cannot enter even the most basic constraints or preferences. I'm vegetarian and the couple dozen recipes I encountered were all meat or seafood dishes. A search for vegetarian turned up *one* dish... Useless.
Great product! I've made meals I never thought I could make, and they come out perfect every time. The price point is a little steep for the burner and pan, but after using the system for over a month, it is totally worth it!
This is horrible. It seems to be a big cluge. Among the 2 apps, a fry pan, and a stove, this is just way too complicated. Can't even get any one of them paired via bluetooth.
Great cooking app and technology. I use it all the time to cook things that I would be afraid to try on my own. Amazing step by step video instructions and I like that I can just select my preferred doneness and the app calculates cook time automatically
App frequently crashes, and timers don't always start when they should.
Non-Intuitive UI: Been developing computer apps for 20+ years and I cannot make head nor tail out of this app's UI. .. Basically useless until I figure it out or somebody overhauls it.
Two questions one statement. 1. Is the series one and two cue interchangeable with pans? 2. Whats the difference? Called ge about cafe stove compatability, they were clueless bout cue. The cafe series stoves n cooktops are supposed to be compatible, but what years and models. Some descriptions say hestan cue compatible while others say smart cooking bla bla. And a search on ge website for hestan cue brings up a pan! So in the dark bout what ovens are compatible. Thanks.
Still waiting for my cookware but not happy to see recipes in the app use volume measures instead of weight!
Inspiring, uncomplicated, fun and a wonderful resource!!!
Love the food, love the tool!
Firmware wont update
I like this app
Color scheme is really very nice. And images of finished recipe is really intimidating.App is good it gives step by step guidance to recipe. Good attempt .
App has wonderful recipes and is a great tool to go along with the cookware
I found this app thanks to guga of sousvideeverything
Well designed, intuitive, and valuable. The concept of learning how to cook while being integrated with the tools is evolutionary. However, I was disappointed at the thin offerings of vegan dishes. The starch, vegetable, and legume menus are riddled with animal products. The is a filter to display animal-free recipes, which at times sneaks in the butter. I have hope the team will expand the vegan offerings to an otherwise extraordinary experience.
