Edie: 3/26/22- After getting response from Developer- ie: Go to apps, select Hi-cast, find the setting to allow "unrestricted" this app is now again the best. Works flawlessly. Highly recommend this app. I did pay the little bit extra to get rid of adds. Edit: 3/25/22- after upgrading to the S22 Ultra it shuts off after one song. (Prior to my new phone:Great app. Cast from my phone to my Google Nest Audio Living room pair. Great sound.)
I was a VLC advicate, until it stop working with my media server early 2022, so the search for a replacement lead me to Hi-Fi Cast. Works great, faster more stable, easy to use, and I can cast directly to BOSE devices which I have been unable to do in the past.
It or I cannot play find or change playlists. what good is a control app with no usable playlist? edit : I am the problem. I changed something in settings then could not find playlists so I uninstalled then reinstalled and playlist works fine. old people and technology haha
I use it to stre content I download to my Google devices. Only thing I've found that actually works. It does it flawlessly and I have no complaints. Would definitely recommend.
I gave this 5 star because it actually does what I wanted, simple easy streaming to a device like smart TV and easy access to stream upnp device. I tried many apps but they were either complicated or just didn't work (even vlc failed me 😭) You will have to buy it as trial version srops playing randomly and has adverts but I thought worth it!
The best streaming music casting app I've ever used. Plays any format plays it well, and has great features. I use this to stream to my chromecast audio all the time.
We all want various things from a music app. Well Hi-Fi Cast fitsthe bill for me anyway. Provides local access to my music, playlists as well as a vast rang of world radio. And, for the smart home, cast to your smart speakers. Visually pleasing for album art etc. A freat app
Rip off alert. Bought pro, too: thing stops playing for no reason. Silence was not golden, dude wu. Also, support is in lala land. I would say it's probably worth while for developer to fix coz it's best music player around these parts but look for update that proves out this is fixed before buying. Hello, developer. As far as existing problem write up goes: yes, this validates the need to address this issue and no, I don't have time to tweak this.
Thanks for the audiobook tab. I wish it could be categorized by its root folder like my music by genres. Usually, we don't tag audiobooks but put them under different folders.
If you're wishing to stream your music to a Chromecast audio device with your local music, this is the app to get! I've had great support from the developer when I've needed it also. Give it a try and spend the $ for the paid version if it's working for you. The one issue I had was making sure to back up your local playlists if you upgrade your phone. Fortunately I was able to go back into my old phone and do that and transfer each of the backup files to my new phone and then restore them. All my music is on an SD card in my Galaxy phone.
This app fulfilled my requirement to have full access to my music collection of 2,500 CDs stored on my DLNA server. It is early days but I have not encountered any issues yet. The GUI is clear and responsive and works perfectly on my Android phones. I haven't tried my Chromecast pucks so far but I'm expecting them to work well. Well done to the developers!
My favorite media player for Android. The only thing I miss is the integration with Samsung Wearable to enable playback control from the watch.
I like the app but when I play Bach fugues, some songs only last 20 secs. before it cuts to the next song. Not very helpful for a player to not play songs.
Such a shame that after play about 10 songs, the ads appear and unless you pay attention, the songs on your list, just don't play. Lower the price and maybe I'll consider pay, which I really hate doing
Rock solid performance streaming network music to phone and tablet, google home speakers, sound bar, and chromecast audio system. It also serves as a great remote control for Windows Media Player (music). Clean, easy to use interface. Other app developers should use this as a model for their chromecast integration. I was happy to reward the developer by paying for premium.
This is an excellent, very stable, UPnP/DLNA player. I'm using it with both MimimServer and J River servers and rendering to various devices including a very high-end audio streaming DAC. It's handles all flavors of bit-perfect audio including DSD. The UI is very easy to use and works flawlessly. Can't say that about any other DLNA client I've tried over the last several years ! My only complaint and the reason I'm rating it 4 stars instead of 5, is the inability to export playlists. I purchased the full licensed version because it was advertised as being able to export playlists. Unfortunately, it can only "backup" playlists to an internal format (.hfc-playlist) that is INCOMPATIBLE with any other program. I wasted hours creating local playlists for my MimimServer and now cannot move them over to J River. This needs to be fixed to export standard playlists (M3U/M3U8) ! Update: Dec 1, 2020 - I found serious problems with local playlists becoming corrupted when edited. (deleting or moving items) I Do NOT recommend using local playlists ! I reported this bug to the developer via email as the Send Feedback menu option from the app does NOT work either.
Found this app when I was looking for a better one to manage my networked "KEiiD WiFi & Bluetooth 5.0" device. The "MUZO Player" app that was supposedly designed for my audio device didn't do what I needed (hardly does what it's supposed to do). This app does exactly what I need. To allow playing my NAS's music library over my home network directly on the KEiiD audio stereo device. Simple to use, allows sorting, & random playing of all my 20,000 + songs the way I want to.
I had been looking for an alternative music player to use with my Plex server instead of the overpriced Plex music app subscription. This app works great. Casting music to Chromecast is also flawless. After using it for a few weeks and seeing how well it works I decided to purchase. It also seems to have some features that other music players don't find important enough to include, even simple stuff like being able to clear a queue! One wish list item would be ability to sync to mobile.
Absolutely fantastic, and the casting works far better than Google's built in casting. In fact for people who can't cast to speaker groups since the Sonos/Google lawsuit, this solves that. Windows generated m3u playlists are flawless, and don't even require a reboot. It'd be nice to see options added such as: sorting options in playlists, the ability to order/filter Playback devices, bigger side bar drag/scroll (current one is small and difficult with Samsung side menu). Still, just GREAT!
