This app worked several years ago but doesn't now. If you need to interface with your wfa28, try the legacy player from linkplay tech. It seems to work much better. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be capable of better than CD quality.
For those of you with problems - the Hi-Fly system needs your WiFi configuration to do client-to-client forwarding. I needed to build a separate virtual WiFi SSID just for Hi-Fly but it seems to work well. Where the app is majorly falling down is that I cannot logon to any streaming service, no Tidal, no iHeart Radio. Possibly the other services work but I don't have a logon. Obviously this is why I've rated at 2 stars. Please developers, fix this. It doesn't matter if it works on your device.
No point buying Dayton Audio products when the app that controls the products doesn't work. I've brought 3 of there units and can't use them. Over 300 dollars wasted.
Why can't I cast all sounds from my phone over WiFi to the speakers like I can Bluetooth. Please make this a function. It would be nice be able to play YouTube videos or Spotify (without needing premium). Bought the wba31 to play Spotify over WiFi but you have to have Spotify premium to do it. Though, Bluetooth works fine :/ missing a lot of funtionality in this app.
The app although a great affordable option but misses the mark in several ways. The app will arbitrarily start playing music kn it's own withe the app being unopened on my phone. It consistently reset itself. I would really like very much if Dayton Audio would put more effort in fine tuning this feature of their wireless multi-room stereo options.
I really enjoy the app and the dayton products. But i think the app is due for some updates. On thing i suggess is haveing only one device dedecated to the hi fly app. I was haveing issues when i had two divices with the app. There is a need for a turn off speaker and stop app feature . If there is a way to do so i will rate the app a 5
After the Latest update of 4-9-19 , the app stopped working. It'll run for a few seconds then cuts off. Had to factory reset the phone to get Hi-Fly to work again. Actually I'm glad I did as the phone is operating fast again. (bloatware)
This app has let me down tremendously. Once I connected my zone areas I am no longer able to disconnect each zone. Along with this issue I am not allowed to logout and log in to play tidal for the other remaining zones. I wish Dayton Audio would really get this app up to par.
App will not make a connection with the device. When I first set it up it worked. Later it repeatedly fails to find the device and connect to it despite numerous setup attempts. Even when it used to connect the connection was spotty.
Slow most of the time or just freezes. If you try to change any of your playlists in Tidal using this app, the changes won't actually save to your Tidal playlist. Stops playing randomly.
I have a WF150A. It's hooked up to a WIRED network. HiFly worked except for the home system would not work with my file server running DLNA and LMS. Tried connecting with WiFi, couldn't connect because I need the WF150A's MAC address, and HiFly now won't finish installing until it connects to WiFi. Terrible design. Useless.
The app works fine most of the time, though it can be buggy sometimes. It's a shame that it's now virtually abandoned with no updates. I wish it supported more services like Qobuz
omg the concept is awesome but trying to sync to wifi is a pita. they need to make a way where you can manually enter the wifi and password and stop using their lame app full of bugs. I for one will l never by this speaker or use this app. lame lame lame
Rubbish couldn't connect to Bluetooth for music, which is the only reason I bought the receiver.
doesnt sync well with spotify and needs alot of polishing. sonos is 4x better.
streaming tune in radio is great. Would love to see bandcamp added as a service.
Wf150A , I can't use this App to hear sounds from YouTube. I can only play those mp3 s in my phone
Impossible to connect to my WF40A with this app
the app isn't able to pair with the Dayton puck.
Without Pandora, this app went way down in my books.
easy peezy streeming from all ios and Android toys
Terrible, frustrating
Excellent concept and delivery, at a very competitive price (compared to Sonos, and other piecemeal, makeshift systems), but it is extremely limited in its basic, and standard functionalities, compared with other music apps. While the Dayton Wi-Fi speaker ecosystem has 10x the potential of beating out its competition, due to the price alone, there are a handful of basic features which need to be added into this app -- as of last year, and the year before that, etc. Once the company decides to spend the extra $100 (to hire a developer), to make thousands of their customers happy, I will NOT be recommending this system/app to everyone I know... It leaves much to be desired, and frustrated the youknowwhat out of me, just to get the wi-fi setuo in the beginning... Bottom line: The company needs to 1) make it easy/possible to access all music services, and 2) to set up any existing Wi-Fi system, without the pain and confusion of having to try and discover it, after hours upon hours of unproductive trial and error.
Have both the WFA02 and the WFA28 can pair both together but cannot release this pairing without powering down either device. The WFA28 lacks line in control?! That's just rediculous Update: Talked with support @ PE (very helpful and considerate) and they said the "pending software update" should allow control over the line in on the WFA28. Pending for a year on a product that is neutered due to this functional failure on the part of the developer and especially PE is despicable. Do not buy if you need this feature!
Does ok job streaming. More options would be nice. App has no way to select line in so I have to remove tv from the wall to reconnect line in so it will recognize. Big disappointment .
Pretty awful. Isn't consistent. I can play one song with my phone over wifi and then it stops . End of music . Have to disconnect to play another. Update: It seems to have updated and now I can't use my system at all.
