Opens the door. Also, to open the gate to the parking lot, it took me a minute to get the hang of it, but now I don't have to get out or even roll the window down to open the gate. (Distance to receiver from opening side of gate is more than 10 feet.) After Sept. 2020 update, app did not unlock door. Restarted phone (Galaxy 9 running Android 10), and it started unlocking the door again.
Update (4/24/21) - Still unacceptable. Use alternative if possible. App is wildly inconsistent. Mcdonald's shake machine has higher success rate. If you rely on the app to get through doors, garages, and elevators, app failure (often) means frustration at multiple points. Administration for multiple IDs is extremely difficult, nor does the android widget accommodate. App feedback is erroneous. Hardware/readers perform inconsistently.
HID Mobile Access is complete and utter garbage. The hubris required for the designers to push for this app's idiotic interface over a simple push button is astounding. I would be OK with the dumb interface if the app worked well. Every day, I have to wait in a line of cars to enter a parking garage. The time required for this app to grant access is on the order of 10-20 seconds per vehicle.
I downloaded the Android app on my personal phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 8). I had to literally put the phone right up to the reader to register communication/activation. And there was absolutely no communication with the Samsung smart watch. I also downloaded the IOS version on my company iPhone which works great. Communicates with readers from 8' away. A coworker has the iWatch and has zero problems with functionality. Hope there's an Android fix soon. Id like to eventually use my watch.
After the latest update stopped working what was working perfectly before. Now a continuous icon shows up at top left corner. Hitting unlock doesn't help. Shaking the phone in front of the sensor stopped working. Now have to physically touch the phone to the sensor to open the garage door. Revert your change please
This app consistently works good on my galaxy note 20 ultra, I just hold it right next to the reader and it works. However, dear developers, please make this app support newest Galaxy Watch 4 with Google platform. There are many people currently wearing startwatch only, because it has everything, like lte, Google pay ect. Very annoying I have to bring my phone or a physical card all the time. Thank you.
The app has major issues on Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra devices. The "shake/twist phone" feature does not work and the only way to revive it is to restart the phone. I've tried everything - closing all apps, going in and out of airplane mode, turning on Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC etc.
Twist and go does not work with Android 10. Have to put my phone right up against the reader. Requires multiple presses against the readers to finally work. App occasionally stops working entirely and requires me to restart my phone.
Doesn't work on Wear devices, and there's no way to get in touch with developers to report bugs and issues. When I enter the registration code from the mobile app, I see it on the wear device, then I select "Register" on the wear device and nothing happens.
The worst access management imaginable. Every time I'm logged out I need to contact my building management and it takes weeks to get access again. Why couldn't they add a username and password option like virtually every other app in the world? Very frustrating.
I noticed this app has the ability to unlock the door by tapping a lock in a notification, or by tapping the lock on a home screen widget. Neither work though. Twisting the phone unlocks the door just fine though. I am on the latest version.
Twist N No-Go with Android 10. Got a Pixel 3a XL and the phone no longer performs twist N go. NFC drains the battery so i switched back to using a key card. Twist N go was only feature we liked about these readers. Have to lose a user license everytime someone changes phones....no good.
This is a terrible app. I had to pay to get a code that I can useto access the doors. Once I got a new phone I was not able to transfer the access code and now I have to pay again to get another access code just because it's a new phone. There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be able to transfer it from phone to phone except that they just want to gouge more money out of you.
I bought an android watch so I could easily scan rather than reaching for my phone especially with my hands full. After two months of going back and forth with this stupid company and their band of useless tech support I got my android watch working. Less than three weeks later the HID app on my watch decides to do something the useless band of tech support guys can't explain. If you are thinking about buying this security system just don't! These guys are the reason why people hate I.T.
Since the latest update the "always active" notification is permanently on my device and cannot be dismissed even when the "always active" feature and notification feature are disabled in the settings.
Hot garbage is what this app is. Battery draining when always on and it hardly opens doors without tinkering with the settings. Do no buy these door locks! You will regret it!
Useless. No support available. Code provided to enroll doesn't work and there is nobody or support to contact. A useless terrible app for this individual user.
Terrible experience, once your phone disconnects from the app, there's no way to easily reactivate the access.
App will not load on Samsung S9 with latest updates, hopefully this can be fixed soon. It runs in the background but I can't open the app.
Great when it works. Now the only access this app gives me is when I literally touch the key reader it doesn't allow me to use twist and turn.
Not sure what they are thinking with this app. I has permissions that are far sketchier than people realize and it got them without us granting them. Without any transparency I would not trust this app on my personal device.
Does not work in the background anymore. It did on my precious phone if you had the widget on your home screen but now it doesn't. Its a nuisance to use now.
This is very bad. Not very accurate at times and the notification access doesnt work. Please do an update to fix it. Thanks
Now taking up space uninvited in the notification area, even though I've explicitly told it not to. Still only works if the phone is awake.
Terrible app doesn't work at all. Seems like it is designed only for iPhone. Why bother putting it in Google play? You belong only in Apple App Store!!!
Battery draining.it supposed to work even without wifi. You will turn everything on before it works.
When it works it's okay. The app is always either not working at all or just keeps clicking continuously with a communications error. This is on three different androids of mine. The devices must be programmed in person by a third party. I am the local admin and we've stopped the rollout as this software is so finicky I was spending 20 minutes a day on user issues with less than 50 users. When you have to reboot your phone every morning to enter work, you're better off with key cards.
