Q: I got a new phone, how to transfer my private pictures from old phone to new phone?A: There are two steps. First step is copying entire folder /sdcard/.photosafe_DoNotDelete on old phone and then paste it to new phone. Second step is installing PhotoSafe on new phone. Then you should be able to get all your medias exactly the same as your old phone.
Please note, the /sdcard/.photosafe_DoNotDelete is a hidden folder, you need to use file explorers to view and copy this folder to the new phone.
Q: I already installed PhotoSafe on my new phone, how can I transfer the pictures of my old phone?A: If you do not have any private medias on your new phone, you can uninstall PhotoSafe and then delete /sdcard/.photosafe_DoNotDelete entire folder. Then you can follow previous Q&A to transfer medias from old phone to new phone.
If you already have quite a few medias on your new phone, you can copy files under /sdcard/.photosafe_DoNotDelete/camera/images from old phone and then copy them to the same directory on new phone. Also remember to copy files are under /sdcard/.photosafe_DoNotDelete/camera/videos. After that, on your new phone, go to settings -> Scan missing files, they will be find in private Lost + Found folder.

have been using this app for years on multiple devices. i just lost hundreds of photos and videos thanks to the app updating itself without me requesting it. this is a tragedy that I had to go through for no apparent reason since there is nothing wrong with the old version. I'd highly recommend anyone that is using this app to backup their files and switch to a different app. the developer should be held accountable for all the users of this app to loose irreplaceable memories without a warning
Used to work for a few years, then it quit. It constantly had issues with the unhide, the photos will not show no matter what I did. I have messaged the tech help and never got a response. I have tried to back up everything but couldnt retrieve the photos and vids from the app once they where put in there. Even un hiding the photos one at a time. Had to delete the app and lose all my private photos. There was no way to update the app to try and save my collection.
I lost over hundreds photos after the new update. I been running decryption apps trying to see if I can decrypt the files but no luck. are they deleted? is there anyway we can undo the update? I had some of the old files backed up and I downloaded them onto my phone but they still won't read. so I'm guessing there is a problem with the new decryption software. pls help!
All good until the update a few days ago. The update made all my pictures and videos that were under the "private" section disappear! The files are still on my phone but they have a (?) question mark icon and can't be opened, but I do see them under the /hiddenDoNotDelete folder. Please fix?! Also, why doesn't this app show up in the Play Store when I search "Android Safe" or "Hide Pictures PhotoSafe Vault"?
☡SLOPPY DEVELOPERS☡ Not sure why this app is still on the store but downloads are downloads I guess.😒 I had this app for years & suddenly the pics I had in it are gone, rendering the whole app & it's design pointless. An obvious screw up. The current rating of 3.6 is an indicator, though still waay too generous. This app is pointless trash & I wouldn't recommend holding any photos in it or downloading it to your device. Sorry not sorry, not cool folks👎
I've had this app for years but it was called "Photosafe". I had hundreds of pictures on it. Today I logged in looking for some old military photos and it has a different name and EVERY photo I had was gone. Do not download this app. You will regret it in the long run. 0/10 EDIT: 10/2019 The app had an update and now I can view approximately 1/4th of my photos, but the others show a combination lock photo. I assume they are unreadable or compromised. Highly dissatisfied but glad to have some pic
I was enjoying this app, until it updated, and lost all my files. I can see them in my file manager, but can't open them or anything. Whenever I try to 'Scan and Restore' it tells me 'Exception Happened. Please try again. String Index out of range: -1"
it was a great as photo safe, now whenever i updated to new version unable to see private pics, videos, nothing shown on private tab, tried to restore lost file, still nothing is appeared in private tab, so rolled back to previous version, please resolve issue. Thanks for the awesome app.
DO NOT UPDATE! Used this app for years, brilliant and simple bit of kit, until.... The update, all existing files lost. Nobody answering emails or questions, managed to do a Google search and download an older version (2.0.4) from an 'unsecured source' and got my lost files back. But disgusted that the developers have left so many people in the lurch and not responded to any questions for weeks now, terrible service. Will be uninstalling once I get my files transferred.
Alert!! Alert!! Alert!!.... Don't update the app..... Everything which is already in private will be lost.... I Lost all my private photos and videos after updating... Couldn't find the folder on my device..... I would have given 0 stars if the option is present
I had this app for a while now and had no problems with it now it updates on its own and lost over 1000 photos ! Im so unstalling this app ! Also if you try and scan your lost stuff it wont let you so that's pointless.
was using this app and found it to be one of the best .until latest update has lost all my photos I can see a folder with photo safe do not delete. how do I regain access to this? bitterly disappointed all files encrypted and I cant get them
Since the last update app has completely changed. Dial code no longer works and lost all my photos. Sent 2 emails to developer with no reply. If could rate it worse then one star I would.
If u lost your private pics after update , go to settings and tap scan and restore missing files that worked for me.but the app now asking for new password pin like i just installed it , that's weird Now moved all my pictures out back to phone gallery , don't know if next time will be lost for ever😟
what is wrong with the latest update .is there any scope of getting my pictures and videos back.. i have also mailed but there is no reply.i can see a lot of people have lost there data because of the latest update .do you take any responsibility for the same and ensure that data will be restored
Even after the update I cant restore my lost files, I can find them on my phone files but the app cant find it. I've tried almost everything I know. It was a great app before the update.
Can someone post a link to an older version of this app? I keep hearing that if you uninstall the updated version and reinstall a previous version, you can possibly recover lost images.
sir , its a humble request that my whole data whuch is in " private " option . i am not able to recover it kindly solve this issues as soon as possible. as i want my data from app to gallery or from private to public but the issue is as i transferred it in public it is still no opeing in gallery . please its a humble request kindly resolve this issue. If any update requires or any change needs to be done please let me know as perivious version is ok or any change which suits the issues
Last updated years ago. Cannot access any of my locked photos as the App says there is an error. Steer clear of this App unless you want to lose all your photos
this app used to work perfectly and I've had it for about 2 years although now since the app has updated everything in my private section is gone, the app has disappeared from my phone completely, and the 2222/4444 shortcut is no longer working... Why? Please fix this.
It works pretty well (or at least the older version did...). I was able to recover the files I lost when the app updated by uninstalling it and installing an older version of the app (downloaded v2.0.4 from APKpure). When I opened the app (older version) there was a 'Lost and Found' folder. All I had to do was unhide it. Rating 3/5 because that was a serious mistake by the developers...
