When it works, it's good. But apparently it seems inconsistent to me, drops out, so I can't stream. Have to force close app and sometimes login again to Spotify in it to get it work. Sometimes only plays one song, then I have to start Spotify and play again, even if I got a whole playlist. Can't seek songs, only switch to next, not even previous. This is all using Spotify to my reciever. Liked the concept, but doesn't really work without a hussle...
Martin (the developer) offers great support. The app kept dropping off and he answered within a few hours on a weekend & provided a solution (it was to do with changing one thing in Android's assumed power settings for the Hify app - took less than 30 seconds). Since then, the app hasn't dropped at all. Great support and solid app.
Doesn't work. Not sure if this is a problem with Spotify, or the app. Regardless, for £3 this experience should be seemless, which it isn't, and I still can't use my Huawei sound device to stream Spotify through the network EDIT: Hify seem to have responded very quickly and proactively to my comments and are taking this offline to try to get to the bottom of my issue. Provided this works, I am happy to amend review to 5 stars due to their customer service response
Edit: currently unusable with error "Can not access this device". Okay with a few annoying quirks. First is the audio stops for more than 30sec and then played no audio output is play despite Airplay still being selected. You must select another device and reselect Airplay. Second is buffering issues. The app does not compensate or has no check or buffer adjustment for intermittant playback issues. Lastly, the app restarts itself (sometimes) when closing. This app works perfect for me. A little easier to use than AirMusic. I just wanted to stream Spotify to my Denon (AirPlay) network receiver. I feel like the app was made just for me. It adds your device to Spotify's list of devices, so you can stream your music from Android phone. Of course I purchased the upgrade.
Hello, I bought the app and (1) it crashes pretty often up to know and (2) could you tell me where you extract the sound? I am using a "bit perfect" DAC output, but I am not sure if the sound quality is any better than the standard android output via the spotify app? Is the Android conversion already done before you take out the signal? UPDATE: Could you give me your email? Can't find your contacts... I have other issues I would like to discuss, e.g. pause is not working :)
For the price you would expect it to be a bit more than it is, it just about serves its purpose. The app will lag and drop out from time to time but 8/10 times it will work well. Is it worth £3 and change? No sadly I'd say its worth about £1.50 top end just for the convenience (when it doesnt bug out)
Initial review: Just installed the trial yesterday and purchased the regular version today. Super easy to use and sounds great. I'm using it to stream Spotify from my Android to an Airport Express that feeds the amp for my outdoor speakers. Updated 7/20/2020: This app destroys my phone's battery. I constantly have to kill the app when not in use. The developer needs to resolve this.
After my Onkyo TXNR609 stopped working with Spotify, I've tried several things to get music from Spotify to my home speakers. This works almost perfectly with Apple TV or my Onkyo via DLNA. I say almost perfectly as I sometimes get a failure to find any receivers or an oops error message, needs to close. Restarting my network seems to resolve the issue but its a pain and the kids get upset being disconnected for a few minutes! Any pointers resolving this would result in 5* review. Samsung S21 5G
This app brought my Sound X to life. Connected the sound X (devialet+huawei) to bluetooth and was disappointed since it sounded just like any other speaker. Then switched on Audiocast: quality extreme : codec : mp3. And then the quality improved considerably. So much more depth, presence and timbre. Not sure why there is so much difference. Only disappointment is that there is a delay between what spotify is playing on my samsung tab s6 and what I hear from the speakers.
Had airspot, which became very unstable. Dev told me to install this new version, which meant paying AGAIN - and guess what? It has all the same issues. Most times it just doesn't connect, and when it does it will do hiccups or randomly disconnect for no apparent reason. Even with my phone right next to the airplay and with full WiFi...
Edit: My home Pod now overlays my music with a beeping sound. Is there a solution for this? ------------ Works perfectly with my One Plus phone and an Apple Home Pod :-) Just a little unfortunate that the Home Pod doesn't seem to be aware that it's playing music and I can't control it via Voice Control
This is an update to my undermentioned post. This apps is working fine now. - - - - - - - -previous post - - - - - - I paid for the pro version. Unfortunately the connection to Spotify when using Soundseeder is at random. Not sure why sometimes it works and sometime it doesn't. Now I cannot get it to work at all.
This one has really upgeaded my listening experience to music. though in the beginning i had some glitchs that found as related to my device at home, I was able to get great personal support from the developer himself. im using Hify for almost a year to broadcast spotify from my xiaomi mobile to my good old Denon 1912 AVR which supports DLNA and it works perfect. very important to have a stable wifi and good router at home. this app worth every cent.
Does exactly what it says on the tin, basically zero setup required for my Sony phone to finally link with my Pioneer LX receiver. The old iPad mini I was using as a go-between can now finally go in the bin! I strongly suggest using the trial as a test of functionality on your particular hardware but for me this was an immediate no-brainer purchase, thanks!
Really pleased when I found this app, has brought life back to my Pioneer system. Occasionally Spotify looses the connection though and I need to reconnect. However main issue I have is that however many times I close the app it keeps reappearing in the notifications at the top of the screen
5 stars! No doubt about that! I've got a Sony STR-DN840 receiver which supports AirPlay but my phone works on Android so I was unable to stream Spotify to my receiver, and then I found this app! Whoever invented this app is an absolute legend! Thank you so so much for making this work! You saved me hundreds of £££. I was about to upgrade my Sony to something more advanced with options for Android but now I don't have to. This is the most useful and precious app on my phone right now 🤤 Thanks!!!
Overall experience is good allthough from time to time it doesn't seem to work properly as spotify isn't able to play to devices allthough these are listed. Have experience with one receiver in one network, when it works, it's good, unfortunately sometimes it doesn't just doesn't work for any clear reason.
Excellent app and do exactly what it says. It allows you to play music from Spotify via Airplay or DLNA from your Android device. It essentially gives you two more streaming connection options from Spotify. From my experience I find Airplay and DLNA much more stable than Spotify Connect and the quality much better than Bluetooth.
Music continues to stop after a few seconds of playing. I have tried reinstalling multiple different times. It does get audio to the homepod from my Android but it's not sustainable. Hopefully it can be fixed. If so I will edit my review.
This app is just brilliant !! Enables Spotify sound to be cast to my Airport Express without rooting phone. Previously could only achieve this with root and rooting newest Galaxy phones has now become really difficult. Hope that whatever " hole" the developer found in Samsung's defensive wall is not found by Samsung and closed.
Working good so far with Yamaha NP-S2000 sometimes the sound drops but after forced closing de app and spotify and a device restart all is good and this issue only has happened two times. Good option for using it with old HiFi network players, at a good price. Thank you and hope you keep supporting this app.
Simple and easy app. I use HiFy to stream Spotify on my Hegel H90 amp. Works well with most of the phones I tried, weirdly enough however, some phones tend to drop connection while playing Spotify.
Update works great. Had this app for a year or two now. I had to uninstall it everytime since a Android update corrupted the original version. The new update works flawlessly. I can now play on my Airplay connected speakers in any room and it no longer eats up my battery. Great job.
My device is visible in the Hify App no problem, but it does not show up in spotify. Even when I share my credentials to create a login-token, and the login is succesfull, nothing happens. After this point there is no clue as to what to do, no support and thus no solutions! Very frustrating! - ;My appologies!! After restarting my phone the device showed up on spotify, and it works beautifully!
