HiNative - Learn Languages

One of the most useful resourses for learning any language. You can ask native speakers of your target language (no matter what that language is) any question you could ever possibly think to articulate, including questions about pronunciation. If you decide to pay for the premium it's definitely worth it, but even if you don't you won't feel like you're being cheated. I personally think the most useful feature is pronunciation correction. 10/10 definitely recommend this app.

I love this website, but the app needs a lot of work. There are many times now where the app simply will not open at certain times, and other times it will work. It feels 50/50. Android users cannot stream either.

Overall, the app is fine. But, everytime I open it, it says an error has occured. When I click any functions, "error has occurred" notice pops up. It only occurs occasionally, but this makes the app inconvenient. Update: Thank you for making the app better. My problems has been fixed. It ha seen useful for my language learning. I also love the new features. Thank you to developers.

It's a very useful and pleasant environment. The best way to deal with a foreign language, expecially when you are at an advanced level and it's difficult to improve furthermore. I also like the concept of exchanging, giving answers as a native and asking others.

Dark mode. PLEASE. The app is otherwise great, but the all-white interface looks outdated, wastes battery on an OLED screen (all modern smart devices), and causes eyestrain.

It's a great app in terms of functionality and the Q&A system they have is well designed and well thought-out. However their pricing structure is bad - audio answers are paywalled. The premium model is fine apart from this - I think having your questions prioritised when you pay is a great system - but it's really let down by the audio paywall. Just give me an advert once in a while! I'd rather that than not be able to use an important feature at all!

Thanks for making this. It helps me learn a lot about other languages. The people I encounter here are nice. My only problem here is when sometimes i open the app it doesn't load. I'm stuck with a white screen even if my wifi is working fine. Pls fix this.

Awesome! When l come across some words which are so similar and wonder if they are interchangeable, I am always be able to ask native speakers to confirm my question quickly. I think this app is a very useful for me as a English learner.

I think this app is great but I uninstalled it because I can't ask questions; every time I try (press the button) the app crashes. I updated it but still, it crashes.

It's super useful app, but I wish private messages weren't available here. I have some question solved, but sometimes it would be nice to ask some additional information not directly related to question asked.

I really like the idea of the app but it's so rare that you even get an answer of other users... Even if using a ticket which displays your question on top.. So in the end it's pointless.

i was confused about the textbook i was reading and i didnt have any native lang friend so i downloaded the app to ask a question. love the templates and i received replies really quick!! its also nice to help ppl out.

You guys have charged my account for yearly subscriptions $59 without any alert email, I really don't want this subscription. As I am unemployed please refund my money back. ASAP

Using Google translate along with this is a good way to study. The audio and translate options are only available in the premium paid membership. However It's an innovative and exciting platform to learn a different language by connecting with native speakers.

Very useful app, probably one of the better I've seen. The majority are filled with ad-ware or just don't function as assured.

Quick responses from natives. Explanations on how the words are actually used in everyday speaking, as well as dictionary meanings.

The app is perfect. But there are times where it wont open. Hoping the update will fix the issue.

Very easy to use app. It's easy to find help and be helpful. Two small downsides... 1) private messaging is noticeably and sometimes annoyingly absent. 2) it seems odd to require payment to voluntarily submit pronounciation examples to help requesters.

I see no disadvantages yet. Yes, I can't be subriscred for Hinative Premium all the time, but even the free version is great. I wish I always had an oppurtunity to record audios longer than 10 seconds but ok..

Great app! I love the really friendly community, and people are really quick to reply to your messages. If you have a question about basically anything language related (pronounciation, vocab, natural-ness), there will be someone to answer it on this app!

The text box to type replies in seems a little small on my phone. But otherwise it works well.

If you intend to "trial" the premium subscription, I do not recommend it! I took the one month trial, cancelled before the end of the month, yet payment went through and Hi Native refused to process a refund, despite the obvious fact I never use this app, and I never will.

It's a bit of a mixed bag. I use it for free, so can't complain too loudly. I find it silly that one should have to pay to be able to provide feedback / quality control on other user's voice messages as it cuts out valuable input. And I think it would be a good idea to check for duplicates, there's no point in having the difference between two words explained 500 times, often badly. Same applies for one word questions, for most language combinations an online dictionary will do a far better job.

I really like this app. Fun, interactive, helpful, and a little addicting honestly.

Love the idea of the App. But there is a lot more improvements could be added to give more excitement to the users.

Not helpful at all.... You should filter also people ' questions and answers... A native speaker doesn't questions about his/her native language

Yes, there are periodic technical issues. But, having native speakers respond to questions or speaking naturally is very valuable.
