Hipcamp Camping App: Tent, RV, Cabin Campgrounds

Very annoying trying to search camping spots. Everytime you click on a listing to view then return to search, it goes back to the top of the page. Can't even save the spot and keep searching, still goes back to the start. Too difficult, especially when you're a few pages in. Does have a few nice places to camp though.

The app is good easy to use and to navigate through. In the other hand they must put a standard pricing system for basic needs. If they don't supply water, electricity or even a shower, it shouldn't be more than $25 a night. For that air bnb has a good price for a standard "service". The app has potential, but the standard should be clear to the hosts.

This service is the best. Easy to navigate and intuitive. We enjoy being off the beaten path, and Hipcamp has endless opportunities for just that. Last year we camped primitive, this year we have a travel trailer, and we already booked our first site with ease. All alone on a huge property with great accommodation. Thanks Hipcamp!

The app constantly crashes, the search filters don't work correctly. Absolutely useless on a mobile device. Forced to using a PC web browser in order to find and book places.

So far so good. Great search capabilities. Information is solid. Was able to find lots of sites I desired using the filters and map/list features. Will give feedback while on the road as appropriate. Full timer. Thanks!

The website is not user friendly. It is fully automated with canned/pre scripted FAQ's with no direct links for customer/host support from the app. They make communicating with support extremely difficult and frustrating!

This app is an amazing concept but it has alot of bugs when viewing listings. Let's say your looking at listing #15, if you press the back button it doesn't take you back to listing 16, 17, or 18. No, it restarts it all the way back at 1 and you have to scroll back through it all. Same with pictures, if your looking at picture 7/50, if it freezes and you press the back button, you have to start back at picture 1. There's no picking up where you left off, also the app can be slow and laggy.

The app is very frustrating to use! I feel searching for locations is inconsistent with where your searching. I feel I might be missing Closer opportunities to camp...but the app dosent allow distance from your location option...or necessarily list closer locations first! I DID stay at a location...and it went well..but AGAIN...the app fails in the experience! Ieft a nice review of the location...and the app crashes..re-open...re-write the review,the app says there was an unexpected error. FIX!

Our inquiries go unanswered. We thought we would chance a camping trip anyway, having never used this method before. We sent in our request and again we were ignored and unanswered. Seems like a very funny way to operate. Oh well, State Parks here charge $26 a night and you get, electric, water, showers, toilets, paved pads and groomed areas to relax in. Here $26 gives you no electrics, no water, no showers, no toilets and uneven ares to camp (there own descriptions of what you get.) No thanks.

Incredibly slow, frustrating that when you're searching and click on a campsite to view it, when you return to the previously fetched you're put right back at the top instead of where you just were. Poor navigation throughout whole app. No way to bulk book multiple sites in one go to save on overpriced fees. No standard pricing ie some sites charging per person, others per night

perfect app for the explorer's journey. Find great, unique places to stay, taking the headache out of searching for it

The app is great, but it would be nice if the messenger section had a link for the person's site when you clicked on their name so you don't have to search for it again after discussing details about their site before committing.

Nice app but could do with some more search filters and include national and state parks which surround me but never appear when I search what's close to me.

The app doesn't let me login. Reset password does not work. If I reuse my email to signup, it says email has already been taken. Don't know where to go from here.

Unique camping network idea. These places are not found anywhere else. I have stumbled onto a couple like this in my 40 years camping. This is a huge TREASURE!! Can't wait to go visit.

This app is under developed rubbish. It's so poorly built, functionless, and bug-ridden it's barely fit to be called a beta. Just use the website. Don't rate your time with this.

I never knew that there was a site that showed private campsites. I have not yet booked a site, but I plan to within the month. I would have never known about these sites if it wasn't for Hipcamp. So far, so good. Thanks Chris

It gets a little aggravating at times but the 3 trips I planned on here out of them 2 were amazing places and experiences 😌

Hey y'all. I've been an "off grid, primitive camper" for a long, long time..always searching for my next experience. But now, adding HIPCAMP as my #1 go to for my next wandering...I have absolute control, with no fallbacks, given the details HIPCAMP includes. Pretty damn awesome! Thanks guys!

I really Loved our Rustic Retreat Secluded Cabin in the woods. the booking was easy and enjoy seeing alternative outing ideas 💯

love to be able to find little private spots for weekend getaways! the state parks are great but often too crowded. lots of places close to parks for day hikes.

this is the BEST idea, we had a great time. the only reason i didn't give 5 stars is from the frustration of not being able to filter searches to just canada. too often i was disappointed to find my search results were only in the states. i recommend getting directions directly from the host, the mapping did not work well. we will definitely be booking through hipcamp again!

This app is great. Literally the AirBnb of camping spots. We've already got 2 trips planned through it and are planning many more. If I had to give criticism, it would be that 1: uploading a profile picture doesn't seem to work on the web, and you can't do it in the app. 2: I wish hipcamp links sent to me on my phone would automatically open the app instead of my mobile browser

Love this app, but its SO slow. Everytime you click a site to check it out then go back it scrolls you all the way to the top which is pretty annoying when you've been looking for awhile. So if you can spare the time its great for finding campsites. But like I said, super super slow. The website wouldn't load any pictures either. So app or website, they both got issues.

I've been using this app exclusively for 2 camping seasons now. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with this service. I've met some awesome hosts, and found some cool camping spots. Obviously, I've found some dud spots too, but nothing miserable or misrepresented. One suggestion I would make is the addition of a phone service map. I camp alone. I need my phone for entertainment and emergencies. It would be nice to not contact every single host to ask about phone coverage.

I like to know where I'm staying. The pictures are pretty but doesn't generally show any of the actual camping area, but instead general activity pics. Also the maps are misleading too. One shows the area near Stockton CA when in fact the camp was in California City in the Mojave Desert. I understand not giving the address but at least give a accurate map location. I was looking for a cooler area not the desert. I think the descriptions are often misleading. This could be an awesome app!

I tried this app out for a few days and was generally disappointed. It's pretty much an Airbnb wannabe, but way more difficult to navigate. Unbelievable there's nothing in the filters to narrow the area you're interested in. Plug in a town and next thing you know you're looking at locations a hundred miles away. Using the map feature was even more frustrating. Needs some work.

Most places are tooo expensive! I'm bringing my own living space and it's still damn near the price of a hotel for more of the places on this app. No thanks, I switched over to boondockers welcome, they have a small yearly fee and then much lower prices. It's been a much better experience so far and feels like a better concept when money is minimized.

Not a good app. Amoung other small details, I can't search the property owners complete list of sites through any means other than scrolling a ton or a very bad, unhelpful 'search.' Old conversations and saved camp-sites cannot be deleted. Also I don't need a notification from the app, an email and a text to tell me I have a message. Very irritating. Feels like I'm being treated like a 5 year old that needs constant reminders.
