Hippo Magic

The app doesn't work. It will scan the first page and as soon as you turn the page to move on, it tells you to scan the front page... my daughter was very disappointed.

The app is working well. Love the stories and the audio. Great job. Looking forward to more titles from Little Hippo Books.

How to use the app: if you see a hippo at the side of the page then put the hippo at the circle in front of ur screen, then it will show you the characters/character, in like uhh. They are 3D...😐

It's ok when it actually works. Most of the time the scanner doesn't open properly on the phone and when it does it takes a while to capture the page. I've given up so many times and just read the book without the phone. Sometimes halfway through as it'll stop working. Once working the idea is quite good and the animations quite cool but it's difficult to read the story and look through the phone to interact with it at the same time. Very disappointing.

At first i couldn't download (it says to check my internet connection, eventhough my internet connection was good). Then i try again just now, and it can be downloaded. A very entertaining AR. It would be great if the 'letter' stand next or behind the wording, so the one who supervise can help read the book through the device instead of holding the device and read the book directly.

Surprised!! I had no idea it had an app and my son loved it!!! Will have to find more ASAP!!!

Very informative and engaging for my two boys who are 4 & 5. Brilliant idea

Little boy likes the app but we're unable to change the language so we can't use it effectively. On occasion the images also look discoloured too, like the effect of too much light exposure overall uninstall and reinstalled 5+ times and still poor experience. (2 stars) Update: I'm updating my review as the software has been updated and its much improved thank you 😊😊(5 stars)

Works well and smooth, nice books and apps

My daughter loves this 3D app. It really made the book come to life. Although, it would be nice if they would put the "hippo magic" symbol on all the pages. It really gives the children something to look forward to when reading each page, instead of trying to skip the pages looking for the hippo, lol. Where can I get more books, so that we can use this 3D app again?

When I tried to download new book,was said cant download content.please check your connection. My wifi works fine. I also tried with mobile network,still doesnt work!! I install it on my other app, still didnt work. Dunno why. Also in the alphabet book, the scan didnt work on several pages. 😩

Used to work and my kids loved it.. but I can't seem to scan anymore on a new phone. There are multiple video icons etc. on the screen instead. Not sure if it is just not compatible with the Oppo Reno 5.

why the screen is black? how i will scan if the screen is totally black out? I install and uninstall many times yet still the same result? trying to send email in your technical support also show error , doesn't send at all. now its working fine. it works old mobile

Good learning app. My daughter loves it.

When i scanned the cover of the book, it only scanned up to 50% ONLY. i waited FOREVER for it to be done downloading the book but nothing happened. It just froze up to 50%. I just wasted my time. I was disappointed because i really wanted to try the app right away. I hope you can improve it!

Could be a lot more fun! Has great potential. Some pretty major bugs and glitches. Some pages do not work at all with the story. Would be really neat if the characters read the story. It was just really distracting for my kid and he didn't care about the story, because I was reading it and not the characters. :/

Wasn't sure about the app, but once I downloaded the app and followed instructions, it was really cool! My daughter loves story time at night, and now we both can watch the book come alive right in front of our eyes! I just bought her "The night before Christmas" book and she and I both can't wait til night time when I put her in bed and read her the book and she and I both can now really share and experience the magic of Christmas!!!

The camera zooms in too closely so it's really difficult to hold the book and phone/iPad so that you can see the animations properly, makes it very awkward to read and use the app together. Also, the the phone vibrates with the sounds at the end which I cant turn off so the music is kind of ruined.

Same here, pop up "can't download content please check your internet connection" is always showing at the start, and the progress bar stop at 69%. So can't even start to do anything with the app yet.

Very interactive. Only reason I gave four stars was because when asked to trace the numbers it was very difficult for me to trace the numbers. Almost like app was not picking up the tracing. I do not think my grandchild will be able to accomplish it as it required a significant amount of pressure to pick up the tracing.

Very nice app.... brilliant!!! But some improvements needed.. Using android not sure with mac, sometimes it's delay when you turn the page. The previous vid clip still shows.. Also, its better to have an option of playing the video for the whole page like the characters were acting the real time event of the story so kids who do not know how to read can appreciate it. Giving 4 stars for this and please consider my idea. Thanks

The Goldilocks and the three bears come to life puzzle with the mini story book looks awesome. But after I install the app & try to scan it, the puzzle never came to life.. I keep following the instructions but nothing is happening. Just the matching game keeps popping up in the screen. I'm scanning the hippo image at the bottom of the puzzle, still nothing happens.

I cannot download any book content. I tried with 4 devices and 3 network providers without hopes. I also tried to request support from the app but it was failed all the times. My internet connection is fine enough to submit this review.

5-star when it did work and 1-star with it kept us in a loop of 'unable to download content' hell. So it's a 3 on average. ps. When it work the animation is cool and super cute :)

I would give this a 5 if the app didn't stop working every time we use it. We get about 5 letters in and the photo suddenly freezes and will no longer move forward. I think it's a great idea with some bugs to work out!
