Not sure why but app keeps thinking there is a trip in progress when im sitting still. Also the savings keeps randomly fluctuating... Haven't gone anywhere in days.. I screenshot the $44 saving price then check the app a few hours later (still hadnt gone anywhere) and all of a sudden my savings is only $40?? That makes zero sense they need to cut that out (it's now April 2022 and still.having similar issues and new one. 😑
I have been a costumer for almost 4 years now. Ive never had a problem up until the winter season, now none of my trips are being logged dispite my location being on. It is constantly logging me out, and is becoming ever more frustrating to operate the app. The app isnt even compatible with my 2021 cell phone but somehow is compatible with my tablet from 7 years ago? Wish tne app was more accessible with my current device.
App is not compatible with either of my phones. Have to pay max rate.
The app seems to work when ever it wants too. I can't review my trips which causes a problem cause I drive a company vehicle for work and can't remove that time from my trips. App worked fine before the last update
Updated a week ago now it won't open and it shut down and haven't been able to record my mileage
When you buy a new phone and reinstall the app, all of your driving progress resets. Even after you've logged in, if you don't give the app all of your previous permissions. It will not track any of your trips, and you'll be forced to pay your maximum bill. Super annoying and inconvenient.
The good. It's cheap. Dirt cheap. The less you drive, the cheaper it is. The bad, I've had two experiences with them that were marred in yellow tape. The first time I had forgotten to pay one month, insurance lapsed and i backed into someone in a parking lot. I called them (not expecting coverage for the accident, just looking to reinstate my insurance), but the rep told me that because I had an accident, I could never insure with them again. Fast forward a year. I called them and asked if I could ever re-insure with them again. They surprisingly said yes (just not under the same email). Awesome. My license was suspended because I forgot to pay a speeding ticket. I bought a policy for my new vehicle three days ago. I got my license unsuspended today. Got an email in my inbox that my policy was canceled because my license was suspended. So I called them. Despite the fact that I had it reinstated, it was considered a severe offense and I had 30 days to find another company. Don't get me wrong, I like cheap insurance, and the customer service is usually good. But they try to find every way they can to kick you off the platform for even the littlest things. My only advice to anyone who uses this app/ company; don't even fart sideways. You'll be left without insurance and wondering why the hell you bothered in the first place.
Horrible app. Does not track people properly. I'm not driving. I'm home it says I'm driving. When driving in traffic it says I'm breaking hard when I'm not moving . Under speed limit. Just find a different insurance. The worst part when I was on furlough for over a month. Nothing changed but the minute I start driving again my goes up big and my driving didn't change one bit. No change. Horrible.
This is the best insurance company i have ever had! Period! They reward me for my good driving. What a novel idea. Its about time that i am rewarded for my excellent driving. Lol. No, really. I have an impeccable driving record and my insurance company rocks! I have ver been in an accident (knocking on wood). I havent gotten a ticket in about a decade. So its nice that Hi-Road takes this approach and gives me a discount not based on demographics but on my actual driving. Thanks guys. You rock!
Ride In Progress, always randomly giving me a persistent notification that the app is tracking a ride in progress. I had this on IOS prior and it never did this. Maybe the app running in the background is the issue.
When COVID hit, I started working from home, and as a result was barely driving anymore. Despite this, HiRoad kept raising my rate. When I called and asked for an explanation, they had none. Needless to say, I switched.
App keeps glitching and keeps restarting. Having to keep erasing and redownloading just to stay on top of the discounts. Enjoy the savings but the bugs and kinks need to be worked out.
Hey last few days the app has not been responding it starts to open then brings me back to my home screen
Needs a fix. Keeps notifying me trip in progress when there is not. Delayed trip notifications up to a day. June 27th. Unable to open the app for 3 weeks immediate crash.

I have noticed you can never earn more then say $64 in rewards. So its rigged. I have been told by support that it's just "restarting" for the next month but then why doesnt it just go back up to the full amount? It creeps back up in the opposite direction.
They do have gliches with app sometimes but they are way cheaper than other companies. I myself think for the savings i will stay with high road.

The app keeps freezing won't load
I tried to update app on my phone and it says it can't update it. All my other apps updated fine. There's something wrong with the update from Feb 15th. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall but it won't install it.
Have been trying to login in to the app. But, got kick out from the app every 5 second..... The location always on, but got the notification saying that I didn't turn it on......
Ill be looking for another insurance company very very soon, this company instead of lowering the price do to covic19 issue, they message me saying my insurance rate will go up $120 xtra monthly. All insurance in the USA goes down every year and this one goes 🤑up🤯.. im moving on 🏃♂️liverty mutual $200 less a month 🏃♀️🏃♂️
I've been with Hiroad for over 3 years and it just keeps going up. And I've never had an accident in my life.
It keeps saying trip in progress when I'm not even driving and it keeps saying enable location when my location is on. So it's not tracking when I am driving and charging me the max price.
The app no longer properly registers or allows me to review my trips. This is affecting my bill overall can someone please push out an update to make it work better? Thank you.
Gave 4 stars only because the app freezes alot which takes away from your monthly rewards and insurance going down. Other than that great app and insurance company!
Im very angry. The app has not been recording my location. I have my location on and even tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It doesn't work.
The app is outdated and not compatible with the new A series phones from Samsung. Unable to download on husband's new phone.
Awesome! I just got a new car and my previous insurance went up $537 monthly, with this insurance, my max monthly is 243 which can be lower if I drive better.
It seems each month I drive better, no distractions and the price goes up. First month the savings was great, now, the discounts/savings are going up. I think it's just a way to get you to insure with them and then the savings go away. I am not staying with this company if this continues to happen.
