HiSmart Air

Don't waste your time. I spent the good part of an hour trying to get my AC to work with this app. I was able to get the AC unit into WiFi mode and I could see the unit's WiFi name and signal in the available networks list on my phone, but the HiSmart Air app will not pick it up. I tried reinstalling the app several times with no luck. Why would Hisense even bother installing WiFi modules on their AC units if they're going to produce such a garbage app to go with it?

This app is hit or miss. From trial and error, If you're able to connect your device to the AC. Thats great! If after awhile it quits connecting to your device, unplug the AC for a few minutes and plug it back it. It should reconnect. If that doesn't work, completely close out of the app and try to reconnect it again. It's kind of a pain but when it works, it's awesome.

Most of the time the app can't communicate with the unit, making the app a waste of memory. Its been 10 days. I know that both the app and the unit are connecting, because the app shows the unit's settings. And I can control the unit using Google Home just fine. But after that initial set-up, I've NEVER been able to send a command to the unit from the app. To whoever is responsible for this app: Don't let interns write your Android apps.

App does not see Hisense window A/C WiFi model HAW0821CW1W. Don't want to give a Chinese A/C control app permission to control phone and access files on my phone. Why should it need that? I can connect to the A/C's WiFi and get an IP address so the WiFi and DHCP on the unit actually work, but the app doesn't see it. I took an old phone, wiped it, and installed the app with full permissions but it still can't see the WiFi. So, obviously, the permissions are not the issue. Why require them? Do I need to connect to the A/C's WiFi and try to reverse engineer the protocol? Seems like to only path from here. BTW, the remote control supplied with the unit doesn't work very well. It sends IR pulses (verified with phone camera), but the A/C don't read them most of the time. I am disappointed with the whole thing.

This app is busted trash. I have an a Samsung S8 with latest android update. This app freezes everytime I attempt to scan for my portable AC unit. Very dissatisfied with Hisense. the only reason I went for the more expensive model was for the wifi capability. Edit: My review of the app doesnt reflect the performance of the portable AC unit. The device itself works wonderfully.

Last updated Oct 2018. Can't setup air conditioner 9 out of 10 times in the app, and if it's setup by mistake, it would remain connected for about 5 minutes. So to be able to use the app with the air conditioner, one must setup the unit in the app each time - a painful procedure with no guarantees. Uninstalled after 3 days of frustrating attempts, and back to using the remote.

I work in IT and can't get this thing to work properly with the app. Can't program a temperature as the plus and minus buttons don't work in the progamming. 3/4 of the time controls through the app won't work. Changes I make in the app often don't even save themselves. This needs some serious work and currently cripples the whole smart AC concept. On samsung s8.

Very unintuitive ui. It did connect to WiFi. Might help to disable data during the configuration. Look for a the unlabeled + to add the device. Connection is still flaky.. takes a long time for the control changes to kick in. Some menu features seem to be implemented . Program Settings option takes you to a screen labeled timer but has nothing on it. Looks like an app some intern or vp's kid did one summer.

Worst app on the store. These bad ratings are true. Not only is the app horrible, the Facebook support was just as bad. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere if you are wanting a reliable home automation connection. I went through the setup 6 times and I only ever received a server was busy error and after that the unit just stop even showing up in the app.

Not detecting the AC, Model# AW1822CW3W 18,000 BTU. Open the app, searches and finds nothing. I'm able to detect the wifi signal on my phone when looking at the networks, so it's the app not picking it up.

Terrible app. It can't find it's own product! No matter what I did I couldn't connect. The "Support" page might as well have not even been there & directs you to local service provider. When I tried to connect through Alexa app it gave me another app called "ConnectLife" one I got their app I was able to link the 2 AC's I purchased. Hope that helps others!

It's for a simple potable air conditioner. Why do i need to set up an account, for spam?? And why is it necessary to an 8 digit alphanumeric password complete with upper and lower case?? It's not connected to my network. Not only is their no sensitive information, there is none at all. Someone might be able to change the temp.... "oh no the sky is falling". This is just a waste of time.

App stuck on loading when searching for device to pair with. It won't let me back out. Each time have to end app via app controls or restart phone. It simply won't allow me to connect to my air conditioner. Buying this wifi air conditioner was a bad investment. I should have listened to the reviews for this app. Useless.

This app doesn't work at all. Seems to just collect your email address for spam, but nothing else. Trying to add a device does nothing but lock up the app. Help pages are blank, and others have broken English typical of Chinese use of Google translate. Nothing positive to say about this.

Its impossible for me to connect to router. It wont register even ac wifi. But its there in available wifi's. I checked router and disabled almost everything there is just to make it easier for ac to connect. Nope it wont show ac wifi in app. Have ac with wifi capabilities but without using it its a disaster. I even whitelisted ports. Still nothing. My purifier from another brand works flawlessly with any configuration in router but this is impossible. There is hi smart wifi but it wont start.

Mine has worked fine for months although Iam pretty tech inclined. Make sure the AC unit is in pairing mode first, to do so press swing button on the remote six times there will a series of beeps and the temp display should read 77. Install Google home app on your phone go to add a device search for hismartair login and your good. The app can be finicky I've found it much easier to voice control with Google. Grant it's permissions on setup and then go to app info and remove them.

Terrible App! Hard to connect and harder to use. It seems, now that I have my Dehumidifier linked to the app, the only way to control it is to do the diagnostic test first. If I attempt to turn it on it doesn't respond... but run the diagnostic and that seems to wake it up. C'mon Hisense, you gotta do better.

Short story, get the ConnectLife app, setup is fairly easy and works great. This app on the other hand is useless, doesn't see anything, and the support section is even more useless than the app if that's possible.

It's ok when it works. Keep losing connection. Says device is offline. Worked well for a few weeks then started acting up. Tried deleting & reinstalling device. The connection lasted for 30 seconds, then back to offline status.

Cant get phone app to move past the set up. Tried writing to the email on file: Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address. : Unable to deliver message after multiple retries, giving up. --- Below this line is a copy of the message. AC Works good but forget the app connection

Literally won't work with my a/c. Just bought it brand new and the wifi function doesn't work on this app. It finds the AC to connect, then the app won't bring up my wifi connections. It says "failed to find wifi" . Ridiculous and useless.

Useless app. Won't detect my AC even when it's on pairing mode. The AC doesn't show up in the app, but I can see it in the wifi settings of my phone. Even tried with my old phone, same result.

Like others are saying, the app is garbage. The SSID shows up on Wifi but the app doesn't see it. Tried with both Android and iOS devices. I bought this unit so I would be able to control the AC with my phone. Very disappointed.

Just bought the HiSense portable AC unit with wifi capabilities, however this app does not work at all. It will not connect to my wifi, so it does not have Google Assist or Alexa capabilities as advertised. HiSense needs to fix this app. Some of the spelling isn't even correct.

Seamless. Connected to my home wifi and Google Home with no issues. The app looks a bit basic and a bit more explanation of what the settings do would be nice but it operates the a/c unit perfectly. Smart capabilities paired with a quiet, attractive unit is an A+ for me.

Can't get the app to con ect with the AC. The one time I did, the app couldn't controlled the ac. So I deleted the device. Was never able to connect again. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Horrible. Can not find my device even though I am sitting in the same room. Uninstalled after 10 minutes and deleted my account. If an app doesn't work the first time, I have no hopes that repeated attempts would yield different results.

Asks for all kinds of permissions, you need to sign up with your email and after all that, the app doesn't even work!! Just stays on the loading screen when searching for your device!

Unlike most people, I was able to get my G-Mail linked. The app, while a little rudimentary, definitely gets the job done and functionally works. Love that I can set custom timers. This thing is awesome.
