Everyone has already exhausted superlatives in describing how good this app is, but I'll say this: had I had this app when I was in school, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have hated history as much as I did. Kudos to the developer. A small suggestion: when bookmarking an event, I'm only able to add it to one custom list. One should be able to add an event like to more lists. It'll help in detailed, decluttered comparisons like one list for comparing Europe and India, one for Europe and Japan, etc.
Expandability is the feature I appreciate most in this app. Plus the wide range of fields it covers. Not clear however what happens when you hit Submit after creating a new entry. Is it added just on my local system? Is it sent to the developer for review? While the history part is fairly complete, I found many gaps in the app's choice of writers, literary works, filmmakers and artists. There's also an Anglo-American bias. I've tried to correct that, wrote 400 entries, but where do they go?
This is a useful approach, this may become a very useful app with time, easily a 5*. I like the tie-in with Wikipedia (though history is not Wikipedia's strongest field) and that you can zoom in and out in time. But apart from the time line the entries are unorganised. Not dependencies, geography, cultures. As is it is more like a bookmark app for Wikipedia.
Absolutely love the indepth timeline of everything - only could be MUCH more user friendly and imaginative, with better organisation/interface and some pictures etc
(Tldr: Great app! No ads) This is a great app for a timeline of history including world leaders, countries, wars, eras, and historical events. There are virtually 0 ads. The only thing I wanted added to this app as of now is a way to create your own historical timeline which removes everything in the default timeline and allows you to choose what year the timeline begins in and what year it ends in. Edit: I reinstall and check but this update isn't there. Please add to make my star rating 5.
This is amazing + a life saver for history teacher!! If there is an option to pay for it, I will! The accuracy maybe need to be verify yet, but the app give the user a sense of when a civilization or war or major events occur in the same time. This is really helpful in memorizing which civilization developed first and which follow after 😂 Would you consider to have an search option? Thanks for the app!!
Great app with detailed history of world. I tried finding their website so I can view it on my computers big screen, however little upset can't find. No ads at all !!! Good thing is that it's run by public, means you can add events easily without it gets authorised. So far so good!
Comes pre-loaded with a lot of information, and it allows users to add, change, and delete info. It would be nice if users could add or change event categories, too. Custom filters are great, but they cause the app to freeze.
This app is cool, it's just like mini Microsoft Encarta timeline. We get the whole picture about causes & effects of a certain event. It's so precious for someone who study history. Good job!
This app lays out everything from prehistory to the present and reviews all major events/people(s)/structures/written works etc. from all around the world. I truly value the app and use it everyday. I highly recommend to anyone interested in how we got to where we are today.
Phenomenal.. Valuable tool for academics in the Arts and Sciences. Christopher, the programmer went as far as updating the app with a synchronizing feature upon my suggestion by email!!! I'd give it 10 stars if that were possible. Definitely grab this one and support Christopher - this guy is for real
After more than five unsuccessful tries with updates, I was finally able to update it and open it without it crashing. Thanks to the developer for all his efforts. It's an outstanding app and I love it.
very useful, user friendly, simple yet educational. looking forward to add more info about the history of asia specially southeast asia and the philippines. but good job for the maker and designer of the app.
Glorious! Keep the updates coming, I would like it to have even more events especially at the more granular small scale. And a dark mode.
I love it that I can bookmark the events i am interested in and then see only them in the timeline. A very smart and useful app, easy to use. Thank you for making it!
I lost hope to find a history timeline tool to see history events at same times at different continents...then i found this....wowwww ;-) i found all data what i need. This is so helpful for non-pro and pro (e.g. teacher)
Simple but powerful tool for anyone that is intrigued about connections, parallels and milestones. Well done. No glitches.
The sexiest history app. The level of timeframe historical detail is amazing. Best app ever for those interested in all levels of history.
Pretty cool. Ui could use a little work (make list loading not blink the screen; pinch zoom, adjust sizes) but overall a really cool project.
I would like some explanations about the functions of the program, like why some events have coloured bars and some not, what does "same day" mean, how to add events. It is not self understandable.
Regarding bookmark lists, would it be more logical once you have created them to find them under Bookmarks and not filters, and in alphanumerical order? And more categories would not go amiss either.
Beautiful layout and navigation, you can also add your own historical events and notes. This is the best so far for me.
Very cool. I never get enough time to use it like I'd imagine. Also seems to hold potential for super useful options.
good idea in general, but needs work. e. g. archery -11k, bow and arrow -10k? Muhaha. I don't think so. More science please! Also filter according to duration (longer periods on top)
I am not a history major, However, if I could be, this app would be my savior. It is exciting to see all part of History, possible. Science, Anthropology, Humanity, Major events, so on! love this app!
Up until some months ago I didn't like history that much. But I wanted to try something new so I installed this app. And to be honest, I can't wait everyday now to wake up and open the app and read more and more. I sleep with it and wake up with it. I know that it hasn't the whole information about all the empires in ancient history, but it is still good. I love it. Because of this app I love history now. And I thank you for that. Learned so much.
Its a very creative app which tells the timeline of any given event and how long it stretches across history.
Thank you for putting this app together! The amount of information is impressive. Links to Wikipedia are appreciated so we can check the footnotes and such.
There is still good in the world. What would possess Timleg to produce such a useful thing? We do a little bit of "on this day" every morning and it great to be able to zoom in on this app to see that else was happening in the period. Always though that was what was missing from "school" history what was happening in parallel areas & fields. Its the network of connections that really helps in learning and understanding history. Someone mentioned an individual country filter but perhaps moving borders rule that out or maybe it could be done and we should pay for that upgrade. Should be a Nobel award for apps and this would be a serious contender. Thank you so much.
