Was working great, but now I no longer receive push notifications. Very disappointed for an emergency alert system. I end up finding out about emergency situations from social media or the news and not this app.
I expected alerts as in beeps, voice message, blinking, anything, but I have to manually check the app to see text alerts. Not helpful or useful.
All of a sudden the app only gives out information on "Water Main Breaks" and nothing else even though I subscribe to "ALL". I removed the app and reinstalled... nothing! CC please update this app!!! Pretty useless for now
Cannot open without updating. Cannot update without opening. Therefore completely unusable. Uninstall and reinstall did not work either.
Great for emergency notices from Honolulu City/County : Tunnel closures, water/waves over highway, road closures., dangerous areas to avoid, Weather alerts, Tsunami alerts
very helpful with road conditions, severe weather, and even brown water advisories and jellyfish warnings. worth having.
Updated to 2.0 cannot open. Tried reinstalling, won't reinstall. Waste of time!
Stopped getting notifications, so I have not idea when there is an issue.
No longer able to load alerts. Only able to read push notifications
No more notifications. Was great not anymore.
At first the push notifications appeared and I was satisfied. All of a sudden they stopped appearing and none of my phone and app settings have changed; they are all set to receive notifications. I also have to open the app to see what alerts have been posted (inefficient and defeats the purpose of the app). I have contacted the app developers via the app but have gotten no response and months later, the issue is still not resolved. Battery optimization does not work even though it did earlier.
Adding a notification channel that can't be turned off is controlling and spammy. Let the user decide for what they do and do not want to be interrupted. The first time you use that subscription for some non-emergency BS this app is going in the trash.
Really inefficient design. Designers put a giant picture, taking up more than 3/4th the app menu rather than bigger buttons.
This app is absolutely useless!! There's a category 5 hurricane 550 miles from Oahu and I have not received one notice or update about it's path. Apparently you gave to open the app to see notifications. Crazy stupid!!
This app is not a good nixle replacement. Nixle worked fine but this app does not text or alert at all. The app specifically stated that there will be no text notifications so therefore no live alerts. Twitter is probably a better option if you are going to have to open the an app anyway. We need to know without asking that there is a water main break, traffic blockage, tsunami alert, storm alert, missile launch, etc. AND YES!! MY NOTIFICATIONS WERE ALL CHECKED.
Too early to tell if it will work when needed (for emergencies. ) And not happy to see that at least two of the three reviews were given by C&C officals. Not kosher.
Signed up for text alerts from the site and it stopped coming in. Please fix that. I don't want to have to run an app for alerts
Not getting any notification popups. Have to open app to see notifications and yes, all subscriptions turned on. Also checked the application to verify that notifications are enabled.
This current release as of 5/31/17 is plagued with issues and inefficiencies. The rush to replace NIXLE is apparent and very short-sighted. Release Beta's if you must, but discontinue this current release as a guinea pig test.
Notification popups don't work. Need to open app to see anything. Useless
It sucks. Do not want this. Simple texts messages better n cheaper.
The Honolulu app for emergencies
Only 100 downloads? Just saw em on the news
This app dosen't work! Not getting any alerts!
Fantastic replacement for Nixle, managed by the City
Low featured app. Doesn't have an audio alert like Nixle for the 8.0 earthquake that just happened. And when looking at the section on satellite city halls all it gives you are the locations. No links to services... not even a phone number or contact information. Really miss Nixle!
