Hohem Gimbal

The app will not connect the iSteadyX to my Galaxy S21 phone. I see it in the Bluetooth paired devices, and can connect in the settings but the app does not recognize the connection, not will it connect through the app. Disappointing to spend almost $100 on something that doesn't work. I will be returning this junk.

App will not connect to gimbal. Hoheim iSTEADY v2. Bluetooth and GPS is on. Tried both connected through blue tooth and connected through app, both don't work. Deleted paired connection in phone and still will not connect. My gimbal isn't even listed on the connect screen. Gimbal light just keeps flashing green->red->off. Very unhappy. --- iam on a Samsung s21

Just downloaded it to see additional setting for my gimbal and it connected flawlessly and seems to control the gimbal well. To be fair I haven't used it much outside of surface level testing but so far it seems alright.

Works great on my LGV60. Greatly updated from last year, so it looks very different from the app described in the user info. Excellent customer service. They respond very quickly.

Motion lapse feature is broken and useless. Do not buy this gimbal! You can't save your key frames, so it's impossible to film the same motion twice, e.g. for transitioning between two time lapses. There is no control over easing or individual axes. The keyframes always show "0"s for the angles. Biggest problem is 9/10 times the gimbal simply doesn't perform the move. It goes back to the starting point and then does nothing. If you are doing a very slow move, there's no way to know it failed.

I was excited to get this for my gopro since it has the option to record when and how the camera moves. I was very disappointed that the app now is very glitchy and it no longer works to record the motions. I wish this could get fixed soon but it doesn't seem likely. This is a great piece of equipment. Its a shame the app isn't better.

The app has some really great and usable features, but the coolest parts of the app like motion lapse, panorama and facetracking are super inconsistent. I'm not sure if it's a motor issue or the app's bluetooth communication with the gimbal, but the motor will jerk in small increments as it pans through automated shots. Hohem, you came so close to perfection, then faceplanted in the app.

Where is the panorama mode? The instructions say it exists, and it used to be there, and now it is gone. I specifically brought this to make pano shots at a one day event. Why wouldn't the trigger button take the picture, instead of the tiny button that is also the power button? Why does the camera make a noise even though camera noise is turned off?

Trash. Can't get it to connect like 90% of the time. Just stuck with whatever the setting are I guess

Good, but incomplete. This app works, but some of the features seem incomplete. For example, the 360 panoramic option only takes a 180 degree picture. The device moves through 360 degrees, but only records the first half. I would definitely give a higher rating if this was fixed.

The gimbal works great. Would love to keep it but the app is terrible. From what I've seen in the reviews it doesn't look like it will improve. The app refuses to connect to my phone (Google pixel 4 xl on both android 11 and 12 beta 1) when it does it works alright but then if you put it to do a panorama the app crashes. Also pictures and videos taken through the app aren't focused well. Wish they would use the stock camera app. I would not recommend buying this.

Just got the mobile + and downloaded the app. The gimble keeps disconnecting from the phone( never stays connected for more than a few minutes). App is not very responsive when trying different functions. For a sec I thought it was frozen because nothing worked. Unless there is a needed update I think I will have to uninstall and send back the gimble for something better. Also tried to calibrate the gimble using both methods described in the user manual and it still does not level out.

I originally gave this app a 1 star review due to Bluetooth disconnecting issues and constant app crashes when being used with my galaxy s10 plus. I seen this was a common issue with android. A simple email to Hohem and my problems were solved. Response time was very fast. I explained what happened and sent them a video per their request. I received a link to re download and install app. App is working 100% now.

A fundemetal thing about using a gimbal is that optical image stabilization has to be turned off in order for the footage to be truly stabilized. You cant have it any other way. Once you have the lens position being changed relative to the sensor you get warping and nasties. I see the hohem devs have a button to disable EIS which is not the same as OIS. So the feature is useless and counter productive. This app needs the ability to turn off OIS specifically on phone cameras. (HedgeCam does this)

Works but I wish it was working better. Slow motion mode crashing the app and disconnects the phone from the gimbal device. Motionlapse not always working correctly. 60fps video options is not an option :) When you set up zoom speed it works based on your settings but when you leave the settings menu and enter it again, zoom roller always stays up at max speed level. I'm using OnePlus 6T (A6010 model) Also returning gimbal device because of mechanical defect.

Ive had this hohem gimbal for a while now and originally it worked ok with the occasional drop off from the bluetooth connection. However, this has become so frequent that i can barely use the gimbal anymore because it will not stay connected to the app!!!!! What a shame, the gimbal is pretty good for the money, at least it has everything i need on it for am amateur vlogger. I think i will have to return it, even if its outside of the returns window as its really not "fit for purpose".

I feel like this app is working better with Apple not Android. I have Samsung note 20 with 3 lens. I don't have the option to choose the lens I want. Any updates to make it happen?

My Isteady X not available on the list of options. Cannot connect. This gimbal device is useless. Tells me to turn on the gimbal and pair with Bluetooth, I did, I have, nothing happens, doesn't work.

Upgrade drama! No idea what they are trying to say about upgrading it is bull sh#$$ and waste of time.

Works as designed BUT pano 360 does NOT do a complete 360 nor does it auto tilt down up to create full 360 sphere. I create and post 360 photos for Google Maps using Google Street View. It would be fantastic if this app could interface with Google Street View and use automation to create a 360 sphere photo or auto align to the Street View alignment dots to create the photo. This would be the only one of it's kind and would be in high demand.

Wanted to give multiple stars but the Gimbal just stopped working. No explanation or anything. It seems to not stay powered up even after being fully charged. It's embarrassing to have the professional aspect looking device then it falls limp in front of clientele. I would love to use it but cannot anymore
