HomeBudget is an integrated expense tracker designed to help you track your expenses, income, bills-due and account balances. It offers support for budgeting and allows analysis of your expenses and income, including charts and graphs. Two key differentiating features of HomeBudget are:
1. Integrated set of features. The features within HomeBudget are well integrated such that a bill can become an expense (when you pay for it) and also adjust the account balance at the same time.
2. Family sync. HomeBudget includes Family Sync, an advanced feature that allows a group of devices within the household (Android, iPhone, iPad) to exchange expense and income information, and work together within a single budget. How to resolve the problem suddenly this apps not compatible after android updated to the latest version. Kindly please further advice accordingly.
I have been using this paid app for several years now, however, as others have pointed out - all the old entries have become uncategorised, rendering the entried useless. I had to restart from scratch in January 2021, which meant I have lost all my history. Also, they synching between the desktop and mobile apps is unreliable at the best of times! Just tonight I had to completely re-import the desktop app's history because it had become jumbled and didn't resemble the mobile app data at all. I am beginning to think it's just not worth the effort using this app
Great app even with the few minor bugs needed. I own this app on every platform they offer and have used it for nearly 10 years. As an accountant I find it offers the most functionality with the most efficient interface of the ones I've tested. I use it daily and rely on it quite a bit. After switching from iOS to Android several months back I find it's more stable here than on Apple. It would have sync issues occasionally there but I've not really had any problems on Android. I agree with some of the other reviews that recurring entries can be an issue occasionally but deleting old legacy recurring bills/expenses and recreating them for me has seemed to fix any issues I had.
I found the app useful, but it needs a little bit of work to make it more user friendly. Some small tweaks like remembering the last category or account when entering an expense will make it easier to use. The elements need to be a bit bigger, scalable with the screen size. I would like to see a projected balance based on the spending and bills, as well as a spending per category in budgets even if I didn't set a budget for it.
I have been using this app for year, premium version for the matter, but it has some weird bugs that sometimes the accounts gets messed up, sometimes no matter how hard I keep thing update, there is always some differences which you cannot find why or what is coming from. Sometimes I have to recreate everything coz the whole thing gets messed up. I was still using this app coz I could swap between table, phone and PC but it is not worth the headaches Abandoning this app!
I have been using the app for over two years and haven been satisfied until now. There is a bug in the app and records older than two years are becoming uncategorised. What puzzles me the most is that the technical support has not replied to my message since I repeatedly reported the anomaly. It's a shame, as they had previously been very diligent in answering any concerns that arose.
I've been using this app for years and it's great. I appreciate how it can backup and restore directly to and from DropBox. It includes everything you need, but it would be ideal if it included two more features: 1- Allow for the addition of a transaction as a duplicate from another. 2- To look for all transactions, including transfers between accounts (More Searching Scope) 3- Iphone Version is more better, Android one need improvement (I used both) 4- Notifications are not working in Android
Simple app and completely based on manual entry. What I like is the family Sync option. But, I did not see any recent updates. Would like to see more if features. Also, you as we continue to enter data for more than 10-12 months, it appears like the data will get messed up at times.
I used to record my personal spendings in another app, recently swapped to this app because of the sharing and immediate syncing feature which is really great. The only priblem I have is that in the previous app, when I typed in any field, previous entries starting with typed letters were suggested to me and I could choose from them, which makes data entering much more easier and faster for repeating spendings (not necessarily recurring expenses, but for instance regular grocery items)
This app is complete enough to provide a massive amount of options and conveniences. Yet it is simple enough to use without trouble. Furthermore, it has a great presentation and the sync option with other family members is much better than I thought and then I read from some people's review. Just try it out for yourself and don't read the comments, I made my own opinion and it's a total success. The only thing I haven't yet found at this point is the Samsung Watch Android app to see and enter data from my watch ;-), this would make this app the best ever!
love this app, has most definitely helped me keep my finances in control. suggestion: add option to split transaction between weeks not just months. and have ability to add transaction from transaction list page, oh and add income function to the widget syncing with family in a group is great, but option to limit what the group sees is something to consider, my kids do not need to see all MY accounts; ability to switch between groups .. otherwise doing great, keep up the great service!
Very disappointing to discover the Android version is nowhere near as polished as the iOS version. I've used the iOS version for 11 years and switched to an Android phone 2 weeks ago. First paid app on Android is this but dismayed to find it hasn't been updated for so long and effectively abandoned by Anishu.
This app would be perfect if it had the ability to make a bill that is both a transfer and an expense! So frustrating. I would like my auto loan to reduce as well as it to come out of my budget as an expense. Please help!!
good app that allows combined budget. i use it with my wife to manage our finance. a suggestion, it would be better if it can predict certain transactions as you type and fill some of the columns by itself such as categories, payee and payment account. this would reduce the number of columns one would fill up.
The app is crashing all the time. It is not responsitive to many options like adding someone to group or sending initial data to a member of the group. The backup and restore works bad. It is something you wouldn't expect from a paid version.
Easy and simple, quick, good price and most importance it support sync, back up and export. The only issue is that the app is not allow you to change the sort of the chart of accounts if you need to add extra accounts later.
this is a very good app, I've been using it for over 2 years. I ended up needing more than originally planned for and you cannot move categories and subcategories that would be very nice Improvement to this. I wouldn't mind seeing more for reports and not have to email them to see them.
Looks like it could be a good app, but have had very tough time installing and syncing to both my phones. After 2 month finally had it working but one month later it won't sync nor open on one device... Fruatrating
Love this app, especially the sync feature. I would just request that there be a Savings feature added. I dont really know how to mark down money set aside for savings so an extra category would be nice.
It worked for a few months but since a few weeks the app crashes at startup. I think the updated or something without checking that it work in old android phones. Very bad for a product that you have to buy!
Good app, however after recent updates you can't set a recurring payment due time indefinitely, instead you are forced to a maximum of 2 years as due date however previous expenses still have the indefinitely option which means the functionality still exists, I see no reason to have it removed.
I have been using the paid version since 2015 and was happy. I had to factory reset my phone and after reinstalling app trying to import from reports.csv file, but nothing is restored. Completely lost 4 years data. Any solutions?
When creating Recurring Expenses, missing description/Notes. Only at Monthly has, and every month have to add descriptions. 2. Updated amount only reflected after closed and open the app, for recurring amounts. Edited recurring income becomes double post.
Aftrer the latest update the widget does not work properly ,does not open to the add expense screen , and most important something suspicious is happening with the app. After fresh install , the app opens with my account logged in . How is this possible ? after full unistallation of the app? I have even clear the cache partition through recovery and still the app opens with my account logged.
