HomeAway VRBO Vacation Rentals

Very poor experience from Stayz when I needed to make a complaint about a booking. The app is easy to use but travellers are left to their own devices when they encounter a problem with a host as Stayz was not very helpful at all. The property listing I had booked was incredibly misleading and had none of the facilities listed. Stayz just refer me back to the owner and do not provide much assistance at all.

Please assist! I am unable to access the messages within the app. I receive notifications to advise there is a message however I cannot go in to the message. Error message states that I'm logged in to an account that is not connected to the trip and to use another email address. However the trip appears on my app. To access the messages I had to log in on the website, but even then it's as though the website is delayed and doesn't upload the message in real-time.

Booked through Stayz and money deducted from my account but no booking made. Called them and they confirmed there was an error, but they were unable to reverse the transaction and told me to go through my bank instead. Company seems the be the issue, not the app

Same as other users who reported this issue 12+ months ago. The app redirects to the VRBO app that is not available in my country. Useless!

Confusion : Is it arbritel? homeaway? Vibro? Can't open the app since I traveled abroad. Says "not available in you country "... I am in France.

I love the app & being able to view a lot of options at one time & have used it to find some of our favorite places! The biggest problem that I have with the HomeAway app & it's the same with all of them, the "per night" average is nowhere close to the actual per night charge, no matter what property you choose. It wastes time having to go into each property, enter the dates & then get a quote, just to see what the price MAY be. Additionally, availability is sometimes off, which may be a problem that can't be avoided. However, one thing that can, Rental Agreements. Letting a potential client know if a lengthy rental agreement will be necessary & what the terms are, prior to booking, seems a no-brainer to me. It would save the home owner a lot of wasted time, or so it would seem.

Spent hours looking for the perfect villa for next year, found it, sent message to confirm some details and was told the price on the app was wrong and the actual price was 3 times more! complete waste of time, what's the point of showing prices complete with deposit amounts if they are Wrong! Very misleading, bordering on false advertising. I will not be using this again.

Many people have said what a simple app this is to use. It is. Until you want to find/search for a property. You do the filters (they appear to work but can't verify, tbh. ) BUT the big, bad apple is the searching by price! You have a slider to move from min price per night to max per night. Simple. Then you click "search". The first thing I do is sort them: Low price to high. All over the place. No order. AND I get prices well over and beyond my max price!!! Really annoying. Really. Please, sort

This app used to be great. But now it seems to be having an identity crisis: it can't decide whether it's "HomeAway", "Stayz", or "Vrbo". It seems to depend on which country you're in. Links I share to family in Ireland refuse to open in the right app for them, and links they send to me refuse to open on the right app for me. Instead you get redirected to Play Store and told to download an app that isn't available in your country. So it's become totally impossible to use to plan a holiday.

decent app. price is VERY misleading. when searching rental properties through the list. the app shows the cheapest price, even with your dates entered in. you click on a rental. it pops up and the price jumps up almost $200 more per night. posted price in your search should reflect the price during the time you are looking for.

Very poor app. Almost impossible to find anything. No idea if it works - I gave up and went back to the website. This still seems to work, if you can ignore the intensely annoying popup continually telling you about the pointless corporate name change. For years homeaway has worked quite well, but the management now seems to be breaking things that work and have no interest in fixing things that don't.

Not impressed with this app at all. pretty basic functionality but the real pain is that there seems to be some kind of lag or disconnect between when you pay the people you have booked with a deposit and what homeaway understands you to have done. For example i paid a deposit, then 1 day later got emails and messages via this app saying i still had to pay. Contacted owner who said I had paid, no problem. Got yet another homeaway message today saying last chance to pay! No help at all.

0 STar! Booked accomodation Sandy Foot "Nelson Bay Pool House" through Stayz in January for a holiday this Easter. SO DISAPPOINTED that owner cancelled 3 weeks before because they are leasing it to friends!! Now we couldnt find accommodation big enough for our group because it's too close to our dates!

This is a great app. Very easy to use, hosts appear to be prompt with answers, and a great selection of pricing available. Definitely recommend.

Wanted to update the app which was working and now got it blocked... and then it appears a banner forcing you to install the vrbo app, which already has many negatives reviews. Extremely dissapointing.

Love this app, so easy to use, you just put in your list of rates, place, how many rooms, bathrooms, it pops up of how many homes you have to choose from... has pictures available to look at, as if you are at the venue itself..I use this app for every outing I plan on traveling... You have direct access to the owner... They are quick to get back with you, this app allows you to keep the conversations you have with each owner... Just all around GREAT APP TO USE... This app is very unreliable. I keep getting 'error cannot send try again' when I try to respond to rental enquires about my holiday property. It is not a connection problem as I can read read my inbox from the dashboard, but I cannot reply. The app has been updated on my Samsung S7 but the problem happened again last weekend. This problem never happens when I use web browser on my PC.

Can't verify email and proceed to the app. "Resend verification email" reports success but the email doesn't arrive. The address is correct, it's not in spam. No support contact or link in the app. Will uninstall be and use the web site to manage my rentals. Don't bother sending support request to the address below. You'll get a reply that it's an unmonitored mailbox.

Clean and smooth app. The amount of additional fees they allow owners to add on make it difficult searching for a specific price range. The add on fees needs to be more structured and consistent so you get an accurate per night cost when going through listings. Airbnb just has their booking fee and a cleaning fee. Homeaway has way more in the number of fees that can be applied.

A good app for looking at properties to rent, lots of photos, etc. The thing that seriously let's it down is the pricing. If I put dates in and a price range I expect properties in that range, not an average price that turns out to be 3 x as expensive for the week selected!!

The app is actually really easy to use but it refuses to sort by price properly and regularly the price per night is totally wrong. Had one that said it was £92 on average but when I clicked into it it was £524 per night!!! This is even when I select specific dates. Makes it almost impossible to find places. If that worked it would be 5 star

Very convenient to find what you are looking for. This app makes it so easy to reserve a place to stay. You book it through the app, pay through the app, and they email you a code to get into the place you are staying. There's no need to stop somewhere to get a key They leave an email and phone number if you need to contact someone. Love this app!

Already paid $100 for accommodation and now app is trying to force me to pay the entire amount by tomorrow?! Including the $100 I have ALREADY PAID! This is the last thing you need when you're travelling 3 hours to an accommodation for a wedding where there is barely any rentals available.I find that there are generally some good places to rent via this provider but it's appalling that you can't seem to get in contact with Stayz for assistance.There are error codes when you try to make contact.

I used this App several times during the past 2 years and love it! A great way to discover new adventures and very easy to complete the rental process plus contact property owners. I just booked a property with friends and we were able to make group decisions while living hours away from each other using this App. Very convenient!

not a great system, you get three different notifications(text,email and app) about messages even when using the app message option, and no way to change it,, even after opting out I still received, and prices fluctuated quite differently with the same information input, over ten minutes, also price was different from the website,, needs to be better contact options with property managers, it's very restrictive.

No stars deserved! This app has buildings listed that aren't even open anymore! I booked something for new Orleans and they owner of the property got back to me and said that building was no longer open and hasn't been for a while. So wee booked and paid for something that didn't exist has to wait 2 weeks for a refund no warning! It's just horrible inconvenient and not comfortable with the idea of false advertising.

Mostly a great app. I use it alot to book trips. One very big thing I don't like about it that it lists bookings as open for certain dates when the booking isn't. I've lost out on 2nd and even 3rd choice bookings for that reason where I would have picked those if the 1st choice was not incorrectly shown as available.
