HomeBot, Customize home button

This is great! Google really dropped the ball when it began forcing users to use Assistant, at the expense of regular Google search. But unfortunately Assistant continually tries to set itself as the default assistant despite my manually setting it to this app, multiple times. I wonder if there's any fix for this, to somehow make this app more aggressive in keeping its default assistant status. Perhaps giving it system permissions with root access?

Works perfectly with stock Android 8+. Could use a built in lock screen function, but that can be launched as a standalone locking app, so no problem. I only wish there was an F-Droid version so I wouldn't have to pollute my devices with Google Store.

It works well when it's set up, but on Xiaomi MIUI 9/10 there is a bug where, every day I have to manually switch the Assistant setting from HomeBot to Google to make the Google Assistant work. Because the setting gets reset to HomeBot every time.

use it to restore the old home button function that works really well. Strange, despite the basic app still being there the voice search function can't seem to be mapped on Android 11

It is fone, but sadly the app I wanted to open with the button (an screenshot capture) is not displayed in the list, so I can not select it.

Does exactly what promises. Unlike Button Mapper keeps double click for camera if locked. The only imperfection is showing big white ball from Google assistant.

Straight forward, small on memory. Doesn't need Accessibility, which is great for reliability. Better than similar applications.

The 'Open recent apps screen' option when enabled in the Homebot app always seems to launch the Homebot app screen instead of Recent Apps view. Tried sending a mail regarding this on the Developer E-mail but it's throwing a delivery failure.

Exactly what I needed to simply search on the web with a long press on the home button. Thanks a lot for your work, it took me some time to find this app.

Doesn't work in android 12. We hoping this would restore long pressing the home the home button functionality in android 12, but it can't do anything.

No option to select "do nothing". Many people want to just ignore the long press problem. This app doesn't help.

Doesn't work after restart and after a while with battery saver on

Its a good app, but it has no lock screen option so cant be a 5 star for me

still needs to add lock screen function but u can download it separately anyways and pair it to this..

great app i use it to togle brightnes outdoors it is a pity that it doesn't work on lock screen..

Generally works but the open recents do not. I hope an update will get it to work

Hope can add option to enable vibration feedback on successfully launch the shortcut or function
