On Galaxy Tab 3 have issues where play will pixelate, stutters, and audio drops. Exiting player and then back it will work again. Adjusting MX player settings did help some but not 100%. Simple interface not many features or settings.
Works, unlike the official app. If trying to watch the same channel on TV and the phone, phone gets choppy, but this may be due to signal strength and not the app, just not sure. Casts over Google cast just fine as well using screen cast, so that's nice. Good job on this app
Doesn't have guide info and channel logos like the official HD HomeRun app. However, official app cant stream hd channels without horrible lag and stammering. This app streams through MX player the channel u select and it plays smoothly on HD. Annoying to have to simply go by number, but it works.
Runs properly for a few seconds on 2013 Nexus 7 then stutters on video and audio be ones bursts loud buzzing. I have multiple, excellent strength wifi access points. Same with iOS version on iPads. Seems as if it requires more processing power than tablets have.
User errors on my part seem to be the reason I have been having problems with this app. Once I got a vlc player up and running things got better. If I can get it to play like it once did I can give it more stars.
Does not work on Samsung Galaxy J3 Mission/Verizon. Device not detected, even though it shows up under ABOUT tab.
Works with my HDHR-T1-US when SiliconDust's own app refuses to recognize it. TV On my Android, love it.
Excellent tool for comparing signal strength on two different tuners. Also great to switch channels and kick off another program like the VLC to watch TV.
Works with original hdhr on ice cream sandwich, KitKat and lollipop. Stopped detecting hdhr and had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work again. Needs vlc player to play video. Pretty good for free.
Thank you for fixing crashing issue immediately. This app is excellent for streaming from network tuner and shows the channel signal strength.
I did have a problem but finally fixed it with a tablet reset. I have slight pixelation on HD only, and SD plays smooth. I have a strong WiFi signal and use MX player. I was going to try it on my phone, too, but it wants another $2.99. This app has some really useless features but it's missing useful ones like an EPG (program guide). No DVR or HD doesn't bother me much and is probably a result of low computing power, but I wish I could back up channel data locally (on my tablet) and also rearrange the channel order. It would make a big difference. How hard could that be?
I honestly wasn't expecting much from this app. I downloaded it and it found my HDHomeRun without any setup on my part. I downloaded the VPlayer app mentioned and everything played automatically. I'm shocked. Dev - thank you. 5 stars.
I bought this app thinking it was the official HDHomeRun app. Not only did I waste my money, but the app doesn't work on a nexus 7. All it did was scan and then show nothing. I'd like my money back
If I had known this app did not work across subnets, I would have never bought it. This app does not allow one to specify the IP of the HomeRun device when the discovery fails.
Now it w will not play video at all. Please fix asap
This app is too slow to use to watch television. I only use it to test the tuner. Lost the ability to play sound randomly and can't seem to recover it. Overall disappointing.
I have the 2013 Nexus 7 and a Note 2 and both just show the connecting screen and never connect. On the off day it does connect, the audio lags behind and starts breaking up within 2 minutes.
Works great. I have no problems streaming HD to my phone either. I would recommend hard wiring as many as your devices as possible to your server and router to get the best experience for your mobile device.
As others have noted there is no manual configuration option. It uses a L2 discovery mechanism exclusively, leaving those of us that have a different subnet for wireless with a useless app.
This is a Phenomenal app and must have for user of HD Home run Prime or other. Lot's of customizing options with good GUI. To stream HD content 5G frequency is a must. Don't even attempt with 2.4. AC connection on both ends will feel seamless.
Works well in conjunction with the VLC media player. Lets me scan TV stations to see tropospheric events.
love this app, only thing missing is chromecast support
Not really sure what happened. A few updates back it started stuttering while streaming hd and closing the stream. (This used to stream/play fine) No longer usable.
I got this working on my Asus tf101, Acer a500, LG Spectrum 2, and Samsung Galaxy S4. HD channels are a little sluggish but I can stream directly to all of my android devices.
Great app. Works very well just really really needs an EPG to go with it. I use this with hdhomerun tuners and mx player. DVB-T and free view antenna. No problems on note 8,tab 10 or HTC phone.
1.72 broke what was a working app on my Samsung tablet!!!! It controls the tuner fine but the hand-off to the video player is broken!!!!!
Just needs some UI work so enter button plays channels rather than enters channel diag page (need mouse for work around). Also could use DTCP-IP ;)
I have an HDHomerun from 7 or so years ago and this app works perfect with it. Even S'Dusts own app doesn't do that. The app is easy to use and scanned both receivers without issue. I am on a Nexus 7.
I like this software, I use it with VLC for Android. Works well on my Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, Tronsmart Vega S89, and el cheapo Q7 Android TV Box. It could do with improvements though .. e.g. I can't find a way to play a channel by using the keyboard.
