A bit unreliable at times on my phone but will only display live footage and no playback on my new tablet and that's after a lot of button pushing. Since I last wrote this app had become more reliable but I've had to uninstall it because it started eating through data. It could be something to do with a recent update I don't know but no use to me as it is.

This app has always been hit and miss but recently it just doesnt work. No live streaming or playback just circles swirling around. It used to work better when wifi was switched off but now I'm lucky to get anything on either. So frustrating after spending so much money. I definitely wouldn't recommend after seeing friends systems (different make) working so efficiently.

I've stopped recommending Swann products to friends, family, colleagues and anyone who asked me for my personal opinion on them. Why? This app! It very, very rarely connects even when it says "connected" and I can only view my property from the TV at, which totally defeats the point in having the app to remotely view what you have it protecting! Don't waste your time and money on this system until they've fixed the bugs; there are plenty of alternatives out there that work far better.

Bought cameras specifically so that they could be monitored when away from home. Worked perfectly with no issues for the first 6 months on all my mobile devices. Then after an app update, I am advised "connect fail". I now have this message on all my mobile devices, therefore rendering the cameras useless. This has been going on for over 6 months. Can someone please fix this issue !!!! !!!!

[Updated review] still a poor performing app. ** This app is going from needs improvement to borderline useless. It is now constantly disconnecting. Everything is slow. Nothing wrong with my internet connection. It's this app. The Main harddrive box is also lacking and doesnt appear to be keeping up with technology updates. I regret choosing Swann as my security system.

I've had this app for at least two yrs and its the same old problems, doesn't want to load or if you want to enlarge/click on one of the camera screen to see it better, it won't load the image and of course the back button doesn't take you back to the last setting it just closes the app. It seems like every one has the same issue. Why not try to fix it?

Works, but kills battery. I have it set to not run in the background, but even then it does, and uses 1/3 of the battery of a full charge, and i only need to open it for a glance for this to occur. The only way i can stop this from happening is to go into the app info and force close it. The app is useful, and not too much trouble to handle, but i wish it would close and not run without my consent

Better the devil you know than the devil you don't. I'm a long time multi system user. I just received my third newest generation System and I am told by Swann Support to use it with HomeSafe View, which is as bad as stated, because Swan Security can't separate system viewing. MAJOR SECURITY FLAW! If you have multiple sites, Swann now allows you to have only one secure system, unlike Swan View and Swan View Link. I guess I can't buy any more Swann Systems.

Worst security app ever. Constantly closing itself out. With all the complaints about it , you would think they would fix it or create something better. 03/25/22 I can't play back at all just keeps spinning. Can't view cameras away from our shop half the time. This has always been a terrible service. Looking for a better service.

Works ok ipod touch wifi at home but not on samsung phone (need) & tablet - it is hit & miss both wifi & 4g. 10% of the time goes straight to live pictures, but rest of time have to go into device to save. Then either no device there & have to add one or device wont save & go to live pictures. This shouldn't be happening. Still have 1 camera on old swann viewlink app & have no trouble with. HD went on that so can't use to record only view on phone. App rarely updated & problems not fixed.

Very faulty app. It is incompatible with every operating system in a different way for each. Mine has android 8.1.0 and the menu options are nowhere to be found. This is one of your most important marketing details and you gave it to your 3 year old to program. Also with the most sophisticated system that you have I expected to be able to see license plates of cars right in front of my house. I can live with that, but please fix this crappy app.

The equipment is good but this application is rubbish. It consistently fails to connect and constantly indicates that devices are not available even though they are working perfectly. I am fed up of trying to re add the device. The worse aspect of this app is that it makes you wonder if equipment is working? If remote viewing is important to you, for example watching pets while you are out, then Swann should be avoided completely. Swann makes it seem like a selling point that they don't charge subscription. But the simple fact that they don't charge a fee is because it doesn't actually work most of the time. Possibly the thought is that if people don't pay then why bother putting any effort into it. I just wasted £749 because I don't trust this useless remote app and need to get a more reliable system.

I have a note 8 and this app works amazingly. it took some time to figure out HOW to use the app, but I found YouTube videos explaining it. after that... amazing. It's not perfect but I imagine it is quite difficult to get all the data, functions and interface components to work on a variety of devices. I tried Amcrest and although they make great hardware, I was not satisfied with the software. I've owned Swann before and am glad I chose them again. Using a 8 channel 4K NVR.

The software performance up to now i would rate it as fair. Definately lots of bugs but you can eventually do what you're after. For the past week, whenever I click the 3 lines to get to the main menu so I can switch to playback, the software crashes. The only thing that works at the moment is the live feed. Without the rest of the functions, this app is useless. Please fix ASAP!

Laggy and could be simpler to use and needs more features. The playback makes u select every camera all over again but doesn't play them back simultaneously. That becomes very frustrating too. It should playback every camera after the date is selected. Annoying having to go through the steps again and again. Especially if you want to play it back quickly as possible. Also when you change the password via the box you have at home, it doesn't affect other people who are connected on their phone..

This app is terrible! Swann needs to get their act together and sort this out. Video takes long to load and to connect to the DVR using data takes forever. Sometimes it doesn't even connect and it isn't much easier using WiFi and on the same network. I have friends who use other brand security systems and they have no problems with the apps. If Swann can provide another compatible app, I'm sure alot of their customers would be pleased. If they cant, I dont see an issue switching to another brand

Completely unreliable app! If there was an alternative app that I could use to access my CCTV cameras when away from home then I'd use it, but unfortunately I'm stuck with this. When it does work (which is about 50%-60% of the time) it is very slow to boot and display my camera feed. I'm sure it can't be too difficult for someone to create a reliable app! Even just start with getting your successful accessibility rate to around the 90% mark would be a great start. Please sort it out!

Absolutely terrible. I have to un-install and then reinstall the app to get it to work most of the time. They supposedly fix the bugs and issues but it is never reliable. As much as this system cost, they should be able to afford to hire a tech to create an app that actually works. Great cameras when you can actually see them or if you stay home with the dvr box.

Useless! Was working well for like a month now it's just all over the place. Times are on a mind of its own, jumps times throughout the day. Playback is horrible, missing time frames so if you end up having a burglar or mail stolen you won't even be able to see anything. As well as horrible picture quality. Always disconnects so have to manually connect my camera's. Loading the app and camera's takes forever. I don't see how anyone can think this app is beneficial, they're probably lying! Need major bug fixes and updates!

I have been using this app from the last 3 years without any issues. From the last week, the app has lost it capacity to relaunch on demand ( became very restricted) and I cannot see any cameras on the screen. I have to restart my phone every time when ever I want to see the live video streaming of my cctv and after restarting my phone, I can only see it once. This is not very ideal. Not sure if this is due to current update of the app or android software update. Version used currently is 1.3.7

Cameras won't load in app. They work just fine on the same internet that phone app is connected to. It says there aren't any cameras to be found, but they are showing on the TV that the DVR is connected to. Pointless app if I'm away from home and want to check on my house or neighborhood that I have view of. I guess it's time to buy a new system and different brand when I do, with an app that works!

I had high hopes when i bought a camera system, unfortunately this app is a huge let down. It is exteremely unreliable with push notifications. There are multiple times when the cameras sense motion, but the app just fails to generate a notification. The app runs in the background and drains the battery when your phone is not connected to wifi. The final nail in the coffin is that the app is not user friendly. I should not have to look up how to use a basic function of an app.

I would be happy with this app if they could fix 2 things; 1- The ability to remove NVR from the list 2- the ability to export video clips. I spend 5 minutes keeping my phone from going to sleep so i can record a clip from the playback, but when i go to the "Record" section and find the clip I made, i can only view or share the Thumbnail. I also have been unable to find where the clip is saved on my phone so i can't even find it by navigating vie My Files. There are a few other QoL issues i can put up with, but not being able to export the video clips is a major downside.

The app is not bad, but there are a few bugs. Push notifications could be improved. Bug list: 1. When using playback mode, on multiple cameras at once, they get out of sink to each other, and even the time on the app timeline. (Cameras show a different time to the app) 2. Sometimes I get the message that another user is reviewing playback, but I am the only user. Only a NVR reset fixes this. 3. I have been unable to connect to Google home yet.
