In order to enable certain features, this application needs to access the following on your mobile device:
- Location services: So we can return ATM/Branch search results that are relevant to your current location
- Camera: So that you can use the Mobile Check Deposit feature
- Contacts: So that when using the Popmoney person-to-person payments feature you can easily select a contact from your device to pay
Some of these features may not be enabled for you right now, but may be added in the future.Note that some devices may report that this application requires access to call logs. This is an issue with certain Android versions which incorrectly report this as part of the ‘Contacts’ permission. This application does not and will not access any of your call logs.

Tried uninstalling app, clearing cache, even tried restarting phone. Uninstalled a few apps and junk files in phone settings.. but everytime I've tried opening Hometown Community Bank it won't open just blank white screen. Very frustrating...
So last month you did an update and app didn't work at all you worked what I assume was day and night to fix it and you finally got it working then you thought you know what we should do? update it again so our customers don't get too spoiled having an app that works
I just updated, and now I get this pop up message with an 'ok' button, then the app closes itself: Application has violated security policies and will be shut down (1839:C2D2) Please fix.
The update caused major issues. App will not always open; just flashes and goes away. Prior to update I loved the app
since update not working...tried restarting phone and shut off developer options also reinstalled app still gives message violation of security and will not open
It worked very well until the latest update. Now I can't even open the app. 🤬 It is super frustrating!!
The newest update doesn't work on my android phone. This is terribly inconvenient.
Now that I use an Android phone the app won't even open on my phone they need to fix the app so what reason it won't work on Android. what is going on with Android in the world today in their apps? If you have an Android phone don't waste your time downloading this app it's junk and I've been banking with this Bank a long time and you would think they would have something that would work on my phone
Garbage app. Force close after every use half the time doesn't recognize that you are online
I have found that sometimes your app does not launch. Also it would be nice to have longer than one month to see previous transactions on the mobile app.
Other than a few technical difficulties this app is wonderful and easy to use
App will not open on my android phone. Please get this fixed!
The app shows many features that you can not use. Lol why would show it if you cant use it. You cant deposit checks online. Cant make wire transfer. It is there it just comes up as we are temporarily out of service. Well it is permanently!! I hope your experts can fix this and let customers have the comfort of online banking.
Unfortunately since I updated to Android 12 the app no longer works, we'll see how long it takes the developers to fix the app
Was working great till the update now can't open it at all!!!
Its not a terrible app, but for some reason it tells me my password is wrong when its not and this has happened to me on two different occasions and I get locked out. I am currently trying to reset my password, answered all security questions correctly and got an email but when I try to use the temporary password it says "session ended for security reasons". I just dont understand why it keeps saying my password that I know for a fact is correct isn't. Its getting annoying.
The app was working and then I got a new phone. Now it doesn't open. Please fix whatever is causing the issue.
useful. do not feel there is anything spectacular or anything terrible about it. just a useful app. interface is straightforward, clean and organized. no features on it are anything special.
Useful app when it's not crashing. Most times when it crashes, I can reboot and it will work. Now it opens, I log in, it crashes without fail. I am normally home to use the laptop but it'd be nice for this to work when I am not home.
So far everything works well. I don't like the layout of transactions - or would find it more helpful if it was structured more like a ledger showing the running balance.
This app has no functionality. Various functions like fund transfers just don't work at all. A generic message, unable to process your request at this time, is all you get. Not to mention you have to enroll in online banking and fund transfers or bill pay to get to this point. Account transaction history has only a month of history with no other information. Don't download its a waste of time.
App prompted for an update (no choice) when I opened it today. After updating, it gives a security policy error and shuts down. Totally unusable now.
There is a problem with this app. Previously it worked well consistently. Now, in the last six weeks, I've had to uninstall and re-install it frequently because it malfunctions and gives an error message.
Two weeks and it still does not work with the new version of Android. MCB, time to find a new app developer.

Would be 5 stars but old bank app automatically took picture when it was in focus, this one you need to tap screen while holding still then wait for it to snap which is cumbersome. Rest of app is great.
(Update) Currently I cannot even open this app, the screen just turns white and freezes. I can only assume a really bad update occurred. Please fix this huge issue. But before all that started happening, the app does exactly what I need it to do including the ability to shut off my card if its stolen..
