Very easy to do the things required, but whenever I take a picture, it lags because of the amount of darkness. In other words, it doesn't recognize dark pictures as actual pictures. And it doesn't have to be dark in the room; the floor can be black and the desk as well, so it is very difficult to take some pictures because of that reason. Also, if I switch tabs too fast, the application crashes, and that is very annoying. I very rarely write 2 star reviews, so I hope you see and understand this.
Tried to make this work as it is a good concept but the app just won't function. After getting some chores and things setup to test with my kids we finally had to cancel and uninstall. The app freezes and crashes constantly. When trying to update the "done" status on a chore it will spin and spin until it times out. Tried for over 15 minutes to update one chore. If they ever get it to function smoothly it will be a great app. I like the UI and the flow of chores and jobs.
I love the app but there a few things here and there that are a little frustrating but not so much as to hinder the effectiveness of the apps overall function. My kids do complain that it takes forever to load the photo proof sometimes. However, I am noticing that this is getting them to actually do there chores more efficiently and a lot more frequently. So a lot of love from me for this app!
Loved it until price hike! We were loving this app as a family, even with the $24.99/yr subscription cost. It was easy for us to manage our daughter's pocket money virtually and 'pay out' in cash only as needed, and easy for our daughter to see her jobs and how she could save for different goals with different savings jars. I also liked how she could see how she could earn more if she helped with extra jobs. But $38.99/yr is just too expensive! I'll keep a free spreadsheet instead, thanks!
This app seems like a good app and is to be honest. however i cannot give it more than 2 stars because it keeps crashing in the report tab. All the members cannot view the same information and there is so many inconsistencies. I really wish this app worked properly because it seems like a shame it doesnt and i will have to cancel my subscription.
Disappointed Downloaded and set it up for my two teenagers to use with their new phones. As another review stated it kept freezing when marking a chore complete. I spent an hour setting it up to only be disappointed for their first chore. I even paid for the full version and then canceled my subscription. UI is nice but lacks the proper functionality to be worthwhile. 😔
It's a pretty good app. I like how tasks can be picture verified. I wish there was percentage payout for allowance instead of all or nothing and an option for weekday only chores because my kids have certain things during the week that don't need to be done on the weekend. There was also a glitch with rotating chores where it only showed for one kid and not the other. Other than that, not bad at all
The app gives alerts when you compete them. The camera won't capture the moments. I cannot select completed all in reports. Glitches and removes the contents without permission. Paying for this is helps but I will have to stop if this continues. I appreciate your help on this.
Good app..no way to reach customer service. I contacted them twice through their contact me place in the app...nothing. The app is not working on 1/3 of my kids phones and we've exhaust technical support with Verizon. verizon said it's the app. I looked again for how to contact Homey. Not a single way. At least with BusyKid...an email was returned within a few days. If I don't get a response with this message we are leaving.
Didn't Like It. Maybe I didn't give it enough time, but I uninstalled it about 10 minutes after installing it and trying to set everything up. I just don't like the flow and it doesn't really fit my needs. Plus, it costs money and some things said they were premium features, but I was signed up for a premium trial? I don't know. Maybe it's wonderful, but just not for me.
The idea is really good, but we are having constant issues not being able to actually use it. Some completed chores can't be reported, and some days the app just doesn't work at all. It will also be great if the chores have the option of a timer to control the time.
Total waste of 20 minutes. I downloaded and set up family account. Can only add two additional family members (kids) so it doesn't work for three kids. Tried to set up chores but it kept giving me the same "something went wrong" error message so I uninstalled.
considering that we pay for an annual subscription, this app is horrible! We constantly have to reinstall the app due to glitches, it doesn't even work on one of the kids'phones (can't even log in), it tells the kids their chores are done when they haven't even started them (no list), and now shows that all chores- including daily chores-are expired. Wish I would've done more research before purchasing an app. Will NOT be renewing my subscription when the time is up.
This is not free, you can set up some items and do some stuff. Yet in order to correct a mistaken chore completed or correct a child who believes all they have to do so claim it, it REQUIRES a subscription. Not a good tool just a cash grab.
beware of the subscription process. it's supposedly free for up to 3 people but when I downloaded the app I only saw the option to subscribe for a free trial, after which I was charged regardless of how many people I was using it for. it needs to be made clear that you don't have to subscribe, I don't remember seeing that option. this app isn't what my family needed so we won't be using it. enjoy the $50 donation. in app, no notifications for when things need to be approved.
Upgraded to premium to be able to add more than 2 kids but it still keeps asking me to upgrade to premium when I try to do anything. Then when I click upgrade (again) it just says ERROR 304 🙄 Contacted support but no response
Thank you for this app! Please consider making one change, please allow jobs to be performed at any time. It's difficult to engage kids when they cannot access jobs until all chores are done, especially that some chores might be due in the evening. LE: thank you for the very very fast answer! Keep up the good work!
This app keeps crashing and restarting. Whenever I try to take a picture for a chore, it just never stops leading when I hot the submit button. I would reccomend not to get this app.
Really want to love this app. would be great except it's so slow and I just get the spinning loading circle whenever I try to do anything. I hope you can fix it. Please fix it because I really like it 😰
Crashes every few minutes. Can't complete basic tasks without freezing up, then crashes again. Not worth the free version and definitely not worth the $50 is charged me and wont refund.
Great concept, simple flow & format. But the app is glitchy when saving customized chores & it is extensive to get all info setup for routine use. Free version allows for ONLY TWO children. So naturally, I switched to premium for the 7 day free trial since we have three kids. It's taken me well OVER A WEEK to get most of our family members, routine chores, and rewards setup... so expect to pay for this app if you have more than 2 children/members to assigned tasks/chores/rewards.
Completely non functional. Keeps freezing. I paid $49 for the year, and there are still parts of the app that require payment. Ugh. Complete and total waste of money.
I paid for premium but am not able to access it. I've reached out to customer support and been ignored. The in-app button to contact customer support is broken.
I got this app because I wanted a way to pay my kids for chores that didn't require me having to have cash on hand. This app claims to have a feature to link bank accounts so that money could be transfered from parent to kid. Thus feature does not work. I sent 3 messages to Homey and received zero response. I recommend finding an app with better reviews that cares about customer service. This vendor is not reliable, cannot deliver on product claims, and has no method for resolving issues.
It's pretty easy to set up. The pre-made packs are OK, but I combined several of the chores. I wish it would allow 3 kids in the free version.
I have had this app for 2 hours and it has already crashed, with no way to add new chores as it was stuck loading. I have uninstalled on all devices and now cannot log in to my account as it is stuck loading the login page.
This app wants you to sign up with an email address, OK, but why? Then you need to have a family name, but oops if your name is already taken you must choose another. Our family names are being created like screen names? With free version you can only add 2 children, you have to pay if you wanna add another, & they want the names & b-days of said children. Sorry. This app just isn't for me. I just want a free, simple app to set up a chore chart/list without needing to signup or add personal data
It's not bad, just not good. One major complaint is not having an option to record payments for jobs like there is for the allowance. A second one is the in app purchases. The pack descriptions are vague at best and since I want to know what I would be getting before paying not likely to entice. Has a few bugs that need fixing. In all, a great idea poorly executed. Won't be renewing a subscription as the value return is not equal to the monetary output.
