UPDATE: The app was "mostly" working (scheduled climate control 1 out of 3x) before latest update. Now it's not connecting at all... Connecting is a crapshoot. Congrats if you get this app to connect to your car and provide any of the remote functions that it should...You won the HondaLink Lottery! It's a great app IF and when it works. Otherwise it won't provide info in real time because it often doesn't refresh and update. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for when it decides to work.
Sporadically works here and there. Some updates it works great and then errors make it worse or it is super slow. I am impressed by how every new version they manage to make the app worse and provide even less information. Every iteration of the app gets worse and worse. Information is removed and in the past it was at least functional but it barely works now. On top of that it has been saying they are working on improving it for Canadian customers.
I was discouraged from using this service. Happy I didn't go by the reviews here. It works as expected. Since I activated the service in January, remote start has only failed twice. I use this service every day. Some additional features can be added though, e.g tire pressure. Design can also be improved up on
This app is terrible, I've had my car for a year and this app has never worked. Tells me to pair so I paired my phone to my car, that worked perfectly, but when I opened the app it keeps saying Bluetooth connection required. Even though hondalink is already Bluetooth connected. It's pointless and now useless.....
Since the update my Bluetooth won't connect . This app needs some attention from the developers it's very poorly designed and maintained. Poor features. Even worse updates. Never works or updates to real time . Remote climate never seams to work. Sceduling climate dose not work . And why can I not lock and unlock my car from my phone ?
I've had the app for several months now and I'm disappointed to say the least. It never fully connects to my car no matter how long I leave it. Dismiss it's attempts to connect and it just doesn't. It could be so great if it would just connect.
Works once, then never connects again unless you remove your phone from the head unit's Bluetooth device list, unpair HandsFreeLink from your phone, and go through the setup process all over again. Have done this several times, but no more.
Clunky functionality. Was told by dealer my 2022 Pilot Touring would have remote Start via the trial of the app. It doesn't seem to support it. Not sure why the app even exists or why I'd pay for it if I can't start my car with it. Half the time the remote lock just tells me it can't connect.
Have to accept the terms and conditions to continue in the app but the T&C never appear, the app just spins. Been trying for several days to get past it. I have the most recent version of the app. Completely worthless.
Incredibly unreliable connection and sync with 2018 Civic Si. GM had a far superior, user friendly and feature rich app out as early as 2014. Tell me why I have to delete my phone from the Bluetooth device list to get this worthless app to sync again?
App is saying update your app to use and there is no update available. I can't turn on the AC while plugged in without the app!! Strange.. the same problem is happening again. - and it's fixed.
I have a 2018 Honda Clarity. This app has smart charge which allows you to charge the car to a certain percentage, and set times to do it. To access it you first want to be on the main screen, then click your car model(top where the little down arrow is), then click the i in a circle, then under management, click "smart charge". It's free to sign up.
Spotty, intermittant, and frustrating. App will work at times, not at others. Frequenty get "vehicle could not be reached" messages when the car is parked with good signal. App is now telling me I need to update it to continue using it, despite having the most recent version. Shame on Honda for advertising this half-assed excuse for an app as a service, that doesn't do what it claims. Seems like false advertising to me.
Doesn't seem to offer enough for a phone app. I haven't paid for any subscriptions. My app allows me to schedule service and view some help pages and guides. I don't get other info/stats/services. Roadside assistance is not available in HI. Vehicle is 2022 model.
Won't connect to new Odyssey! Just bought a 2022 Odyssey and this app will not connect to the car at all. I consider myself pretty tech-savvy followed all the directions and troubleshooting but nothing works. Update: 1/2022 Finally got it to connect to the car after turning off the Handslink Free connection and turning it back on. There are no remote options so not really sure why they advertised that. Doesn't really tell me much of anything other than what's already on the dashboard.
I do find the app works most of the time, although a bit slow. I do wish the overall size of the Honda icon and script appears a little to small. I don't know if a fix is available or the developers are restricting the overall visual size to make it more efficient or not. The overall efficiency can be improved upon for sure.
This latest app update was crashing. I uninstalled, reinstalled, and logged in again and it works ok again. It looks like they may have pushed a second app update, and after that update it continued working without another uninstall/reinstall. Also, I have noticed that the app will only update the status timestamp to the time when you last shut off the car UNLESS you have the "remote" subscription. Autostart works great on my 2021 Accord Touring Hybrid.
2/13 Not Working again! You'd think the Engineers would be able to fix this, but on the weekends seems to fail. Remote states connection error. Again, not working says you can only make one selection at a time, and I'm only making one! The latest update prevents me from connecting!!! Please fix!!! Not sure what's going on with the update, but now the app doesn't tell me when the car is done charging??? Honda, please address this issue, and get 5 stars.
Absolutely abysmal. The user experience for this app is frustrating at best,, and near to impossible to get any function out of it. So many bugs and inconsistent connectivity to your vehicle (if you can get it to connect at all). Which ever developer they contracted to write this trash app should be horse whipped. What was touted as a feature is anything but. Do everyone a favor and delete this trash and hire a real company to rewrite a brand new app. 😡
Doesn't connect to the car (2016 Civic Ex-T) even though bluetooth is connected, scheduling service now won't show any Canadian dealers, the app is useless. These issues have persisted for years
Can't even register. Never got an email to confirm my email address even after trying twice to register. Kind of useless. Not going to spam or trash. Just not getting email. Address is correctly entered.
This app is horrible. First it wouldn't let me log in cuz it said my password was wrong. Reset password try to change back to the password that I know it is and it wouldn't work because it was my previous password. This thing is never worked in the years that I've been trying to use it.
Just really a terrible slow app. I'm connected directly to my car. Why is the odometer reading 3 or 4 trips behind? Also, what I think should be basic features are locked behind a pay wall like remote start etc. Your company not only got x profit from selling the vehicle but now they get additional x profit by financing the vehicle. Should pay for the app don't you think? So not only do I have to pay for its use, but the info available isn't even up to date.
Nice to be able to see my mileage and oil level when I'm not in the car but just wish there were more features. Not sure what honestly, but just seems like an app just taking up space on my phone.
Never sends a verification email not even in spam so how can anyone even register an account? I have a 2022 model and it says i need to connect via bluetooth even though i am connected with android auto. This app seems to be a POS at the moment.
Update 2/18/22 - Smartcharge rollout is horrendous. They pushed out a new app without a decent explanation. Worst of all, it does not look like you can go back to the old version, i.e., scheduled uninterrupted charging. Not sure if starting and stopping multiple times is good for the battery health. I found a workaround - simply use Smartcharge but set the window of charging very narrow. For example, my charge rates are lowest after 10p,so I tell Smartcharge to charge10pm-1am.
The app itself looks fine. But is constantly not working. Update: wow the app got worse! Now they don't show the vehicle tire pressure anymore. And worse is you cannot send destinations to the GPS anymore unless you connect via Bluetooth. Just tried it any nothing works. Trouble connecting to car. Finally did but can't send directions to vehicle. Looks like they took away 4G LTE connection to the car for Hondalink. Now it's Bluetooth only unless you subscribe! 0 stars if I could.
