Built in search Samsung " s finder " not opening with honey comb launcher. Good interface simple and fast loading. Buy adds a non removable icon " tell your friends ". Overall experience is not that good. High 5 star rating probably because built in rating asks for it and people rate it to stop the annoyance. I'm rating 3 cos it could have been good with darker themes and compatibility
Initially, it does exactly what it says. However, I later found that it only worked when the app was open and if I opened the app, it brought me to customization menu. If I hit the back button, it brought me to my normal home screen without the honeycomb organization. Only if I went into themes and hit "apply" did it bring me to the honeycomb configuration. Then, if I opened any other app and hit the home button, I came right back to my normal home page without the honeycomb. All in all, disappointing.
I think I would really love this launcher. Unfortunately, it doesn't work properly on my devices. First, it doesn't seem to register itself as a launcher. In other words, it's treated like any other app and thus I cannot set it as my default launcher. Second, I cannot open the main screen of the launcher at all. I see it the first time I open it (after a fresh install), but subsequent visits to the app take me directly to an edit menu, and if I try to back out of it, I don't see the main screen...because, again, it isn't acting like a launcher. I will update this review if these issues are sorted out. I really do think I'd love this app if it worked for me.
Hive launcher sits nicely on your screen wherever you'd like it and allows you to open up a screen with quick access to contacts, apps or settings. It is an excellent app which has certainly made my interface better, and easier to use. However, after updating up Android 5.1.1 it disappears after I unlock my phone (only appears on my lock screen ) so I'm waiting for an update to fix that.
It behaves exactly like an app with screen over permissions. Useful as a quick link but for the fact you have to find and then tap one the app icon like any other app. It's floating function does work when the screen is locked. DEVICE: NEW SAMSUNG NOTE 7. May revisit when this is a true launcher.
Sometimes, it's stuck either as a floating button or as a side button no matter which app you launch. Opening the launcher screen and closing it back temporarily solves the issue but only temporarily. This is a great looking and potentially very useful app but it needs to be much more reliable in order for it to feel like a must have.
I had this on my Galaxy S3 and I loved it. I found it very useful and it was one of the only launcher applications I planned on keeping indefinitely. I had to buy a new handset and found it does not work at all on the Samsung J7. After downloading it goes through the motions of setting up, but then the floating icon disappears permanently rendering the application useless. I've downloaded it several times, attempted troubleshooting, and I've restarted my device dozens of times. I also tried to change the settings because I thought it may be something I was doing; it was not. It apparently is simpy not compatible with some smartphones.
Amazing launcher. One can just tap the edge of the screen and then quickly access thier most used items, apps, and settings all in one motion. Finally Android has a UI that beats all those cyberpunk interfaces and really feels modern in usage. 10+ stars in my book.
There are a lot of apps that say they're more convenient than the phone's standard setup. After trying most of them, this honeycomb app is the only one, that really is! Don't bother with any of the other apparently, that have a side bar, or some other screen size diminishing access. This soon does what you need, then gets out of your way!
I have to make dozens of phone calls a day and this app makes it super fast to make phone without unlocking the phone. If my phone were lost, someone could easily call some of my contacts to locate me. Plus it is sleek as fk and and very easy to use. I recommend it to anyone.
This is a truly wonderful app. Unfortunately, the icon doesn't show on the home screens or any apps anymore. It shows on the lock screen fine, but nowhere else since I upgraded my Nexus 4 to the newest 5.1.1 build. This happens on a fresh install too. The icon never being visible makes the app almost useless. I'll raise my rating to its rightful place once this is fixed. I hope it's fixed soon... I love my Honeycomb!
I was expecting this to be a full launcher like others I have tried. .this can't be your default home launcher. However, it had become invaluable to me as a quick "start menu" where I can reach my most- used apps or contacts more easily, even on top of other apps.. Rather than having to go to my home screen and wait for my current app to close, and hike screen to load. . Great time saver! Not to mention the awesome graphics. . A few more themes would be nice though :)
I cannot toggle the honeycomb button at all, neither on my lock screen or anything. As soon as I saw this app I loved it, but then it didn't work and now I'm just upset. Please tell me how I can fix this because I would love it if it only worked.
I am a chronic multitasker. This app is helpful at navigating between apps, msgs, Internet or anything else. You see all your most used items all on one screen. I'm still trying to decide how to work the split screen features on my S6 active. In the meantime this app is very helful
This seems like a great app, but whenever I try to use it, the Honeycomb screen gets scrambled and Honeycomb thus becomes unusable; the app still reacts and I can click on any apps that I chose to put on the menu, but since the screen is scrambled, I don't know what I'm doing. :| I run on Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 on a Samsung GT-S5300. Maybe it's my phone getting too old? Just to say, that if this problem gets corrected, I'd be very happy as this seems like a great time-saving app! :)
It is so rare for me to give a 5 star rating on anything, ever that it borders on the realm of fantasy. :-) So when I say this does what it says, believe me. I honestly haven't been able to think of improvements try, but I will. Congrats guys! Gray job on the app! - Budding Developer
I have tried at least 10 launchers and by far this is the most user-friendly and quickest. My only complaint is the side loading bar is not easy to access if you could work on that this would be almost perfect.
My Note 5 upgraded to Marshmallow; now my Honeycomb Launcher is only available on my locked screen.. I've check my settings, & have even Uninstalled/Reinstalled it but still nothing, only available on my locked screen.. Can You Fix This Please? Cuz I'd love to change my rate to a 5 star again.. But I just can't till it works properly..
This was a really very good launcher. But now, since Android 6.0, it doesn't appear on the home screen, so it is unusable. I am not the only user that has informed of this. If it gets fixed, I can give it 5 stars, but it's ludicrous that a launcher can't be launched !
While I find this app useful there are some glitches that make it less, well let's say aesthetically pleasing. I have a motto g 2 and the first thing you notice is that it has no Main button, the buttons are part of the software not hardware, this is a key feature of most Motorola phones and I love it all the same however when I open this on the side tab it shows the buttons with the background of whatever you were doing previously as well as the top status bar. It makes it look rough and silly looking.
It does what it purports to do, but there are a few things that make it unusable. 1: while installed, I cannot use Play Store. After removal, Play Store works as usual. 2: SuperSU cannot authorize BusyBox with HL installed - the button does not register taps. I do not know if SuperSu has similar problems with other apps. 3: the onscreen icon, for whatever reason, will only position itself over something else I need to tap, and defaults to the space-eating 3-hexagon icon at the most inconvenient times.
The floating button disappears and I can't use it. Pretty much useless. I just realized the author gave up on this app 2 years ago.
Awesome app. Makes up a bit for Samsings shortfall in the GS5. Would have give 5 stars if I could resize the honeycomb. The direct dial is probably the most important feature for me but I have to squint to make sure I'm not hitting the wrong contact. If u have an upgrade, would you consider this? O forgot to mention, thanks for not killing it with ads
@Rocky - I'm not sure if you figured it out yet but this App isn't meant to be set as a Home Screen. This Stand alone App can be accessed through your App Draw. Once you open this App, Set your own Preferences and a widget should show up on your Home Screen that you were using b4 you downloaded this app! I hope this helps! BTW- I feel bad that you have given them an unfair rating of one star. Could you please change your rating. It's not the Devs fault that you didn't understand how this app works!
The application is quick, minimalistic, and easy to use. However it does not completely overhaul your UI experience like google NOW for example. Other than that, it is fantastic.
Launcher icon should be able to float anywhere, not just on the sides. Also there should be an option for the launcher icon to remain on screen with out sliding away orrrr, make it invisible, but still active. thanks
My phone updated and now every time I unlock the screen, the launcher disappears. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but no luck. There were no answers online either. I really love this launcher but it just doesn't show up:(
I'm using Nova launcher home and PIN genie locker, and unfortunately, it seems both of them or just Nova Launcher, prevents the Honey Comb little corner menu from appearing. The corner menu pop up or whatever, won't appear unless i resort to uninstalling Nova Launcher and at the moment, i prefer not to. Overall, rest of it works except that, so it's still very nice. Just not compatible with some apps at the moment.
