They charge customers an ungodly rate, then try to get operators to tow them for next to nothing. You're far better off just calling a local tow company, they'll get there faster, and cheaper. And the reason you're wait time is so long to find a provider is because all the providers don't want to deal with these organizations. They'll offer to pay 40-70$ for a tow, far below what companies charge, and turn around to charge you 200+ (far above what companies charge for the same call).
A must have app if you don't have another form of roadside assistance. I dock it one star because the wait was pretty long. But, everything post that was fantastic. Amazing mechanic the digital assistant keeps you updated and the app is just a few clicks and ue done. they got me back on the road when I was basically hopeless. Will use again.
Great idea. Poor execution when you really need help. Lists a predicted wait time that is totally made up without any service providers. Spends a crazy amount of time finding a provider, and by the time you call your own service provider they charge you $30-40 for cancelling after 5 minutes of searching. Takes advantage of people in a desperate and dangerous situation. Call your own roadside service. Good idea, but far from a finished product.
This was just what I needed. The app was easy to install, the user interface was simple and performed exactly as required, and my roadside assistance was on-site and got me jump-started in under 25 minutes. Kudos to both the app and the service personnel who work with it.
I love that the emergency services at set at a pre-negotiated price. When we needed it, the stupid thing would not allow us to pay for the service with a valid card. The error had something to do with the email address being associated with another download. Last time I checked, an email address has nothing to do with a credit card order. Yes, I did download the App for another family member and may have used the same address. If this was a problem, best to alert the user then, not later.
I needed a tow. A family member recommended I try this app. My car is lowered so I needed a flatbed. The app told me when the truck would come and her was on time. The driver did a excellent job pulling the car on the bed without damaging anything on my vehicle. He actually cared where he was dropping it off, put it down where it was not blocking the street. All in all it was a great tow, quick service, and app was easy to use. I would definitely be using this app again.
I needed a jump and the dispatched guy came on time which was great, but had a jump box.He tried jumping it, but it didn't work. He said the battery looked OK though, but that was it for service from him. Nothing else. He said he would inform dispatch but that was it. After he left, I flagged someone else who had a V8 truck to help jump me. That seemed to have did the trick. I want my money back. I don't think it was anyone's fault here, but I paid $75 for a jump that didn't happen
DON'T GET THE APP. It takes payment before the services. Right now the app charged me $75 for nothing. I needed a jumpstarting for my battery,no services was available but I still got charged. I tried to contact support but I have not received an answer yet. I look forward to a refund. Edit: after some research I learned that the app does not do any refunds as they are not liable for "party processor" error... in that case you should provide us with their info so that we can get our money back.
Easy to use. You pay up front but it's worth the risk. You get prompt service via both the driver AND the app's virtual attendant. I was surprised at how smooth and easy it was to install the app and use it in less than 2 min during an emergency when my tire blew out. I was grateful for the quick response and even the estimate time (35 min) was quicker than other companies I had called. Definitely worth the app download and would highly recommend.
For a first time user they helped with description of where the tower/battery helper was and gave me am estimated time which helped as well. I was helped within 2 mins and he was done! Before I finished signing the paperwork. I am thankful for the app if anything happens to my car will definitely come back and recommend!
Does what it says on the tin! My insurance company borked finding me anyone to help and this app comes up in Google first so I tried it out. It went so smoothly it was like they were trying to impress a mystery shopper. Hopefully I don't need them again but if I do I won't hesitate coming back.
The time its states on the site is not right that time is to allow the driver to get back to you and then they will give you their time of arrival. It took over an hour from time requested. I was rushed and the guy was not able to jumpstart vehicle ended up calling my roadside assistance to help out. I was able to get faster service within an hour compare to this app which I initally thought they were going to be faster than to my insurance roadside assistance.
Great app and service. Although wait was a bit long for provider, the quality of the provider made it worthwhile. Good txt msgs keeping u up to date on finding help and when it would arrive. Provided the cell phone for my provider which was useful because I had a question.
It was good they came quick. But since i never used them i wasnt sure how it worked. Cant really talk to someone. Only an operator, which by who said they dont have information on the people who do the service. So i was charged 180 just to get a tire on my car. Guess you live and you learn. Only got 2 stars cause they were prompt. Wish i could write everything i want to but it cuts off at 500.
Lifesaver!!! Must have app for every driver.
It's no better than this.i was stranded and this app lived up to all the expectations that I looked for.
They were very quick and efficient! There was a slight delay for to traffic issues but they kept me informed and the tech/mechanic was prompt professional and personable! Very reasonable priced as well!
horrible. I waited while stranded on the side of the highway for 1 and a half hours while speaking with customer service they said the system is just searching for the closest available tow truck driver and someone would be there shortly. nobody ever came. I finally found out that my bank declined them because they tried to charge my card 3 times. still nobody ever showed up so after dealing with them for nearly two hrs i had to find another option. All i needed was fuel. terrible experience!
This is a ridiculous company that refuses to speak English if your lucky enough to speak to anyone at all. Half of the phone numbers have been disconnected. They say they have sent your payment and that you need to check all your folders. When you have checked your folders they insist that the payment was sent and now it will be several days for them to cancel the one payment and re-issue payment with a new credit card number. They are unresponsive to their customers and their providers. If you value your business or are a customer that values their vehicle, stay away from these people. Their downfall is becoming more and more obvious as we have a 20 mile radius and they routinely send calls in excess of 60 miles to us. They are seriously lacking in providers!
Honk is only good on the customer end. But the reason I knocked off 2 stars is because they do it on service providers expense. Under paying and crossing many may rules and regulations, only problem is you need to have at least same amount of money as their mistakes to take them to court! Honk for serve and protect? Or Honk for harass and neglect? Hmmm....2nd option for sure
their ETAs are incorrect. In my case they were off by almost double. they were also unwilling to give a discount for such bad service. past this, their service is the same price as the traditional manners of getting service. isnt the point of an intermediary/load balancer that they can drive prices down? will not use again, not really sure what service they are providing over traditional methods.
Terrible service for providers. They assign you calls and then remove them midway through the service. According to a "supervisor " there is no direct number to contact dispatch for support. Instead, you need to email them and they'll usually reply within 1-2 business days. They also only allow you to accept calls at rates that are 1/4 of your contracted rates.
I would rate it zero stars if i could. I paid for a jump start at 11:30am, I still heard nothing till about 2pm when they said someone would be by at 2:30pm. I waited almost 2 more hours before canceling. Don't use this app- they scammed me out of 75 dollars and my car still won't start. Now I'm just waiting for my refund. I'm in the process of finding a new job and I was under the impression this would go fast so I wouldn't miss my interviews.
terriable, this app is a nightmare. tons of issues. but then i click help to try to resolve issues i get an automated responce giving me the run around. so i left a previous bad review. somebody commented saying "this dosnt sound right" and gave me a link that led to the same automated runaround. clearly theyre just interested in taking your money and not offering help with one of the apps many issues!
Decent customer service, but poor outcome. The first service provider never showed up and when I called them they said they were unable to take the job. So Honk got another service to come out. Honk's customer service was pretty good as I was getting frustrated, but the whole process took almost three hours to finally get someone to come jump my car off. And it still cost me $75 to waste all that time.
Service worker was friendly, knowledgeable, and able to fix my issue right away! And customer service help to fix my issue & sent someone back out quickly. I would recommend. Reasonable priced services.
They hooked me up with service in no time. I paid for the service beforehand, and mind you I was skeptical at first giving out my card number. The service gave an estimated time as to when they would be here via countdown time. They also gave me a heads up when they were delayed (10 min.) which is great considering we just had a snow storm.
Had to find a quick car battery jump and I found the Honk app. So easy and just what I needed. I totally recommend Honk if you need help with your car not running. Great service!
