Hooked Deals

Until a few months ago, deals used to be sorted by distance. Now I have to wade through a list of deals in whatever order the app seems to feel like (probably based on who pays them the most) to find ones that are actually within walking distance of me. And the base tier deals after the introduction of gold are so limiting, it's not worth the hassle of navigating the unsorted list to find one. Will uninstall in the next month if sorting by distance is not reintroduced.

The Hooked service is very good and much simpler to utilize than other options I've tried in the past ; however, that doesn't excuse the current poor state of the app. The most recent update has several bugs that weren't present before. The most frustrating being that I cannot log in because I can't reset my password. It tells me that my email is an invalid format despite being a normal Gmail account, and it refuses to send the reset link. Additionally, the system back button doesn't work.

Great app and worth the subscription. For $4 a month I get access to a ton of deals. Some of them pay for the subscription after one use. Even the free version is great Edit: removed a feature to search based on food type, really unfortunate so I dropped my rating. Plus when using the search feature I get results from over hundreds of miles away with no way to filter to the ones close by

Convenient for living in a college town and ideal for living on a budget. Subscribing to Gold provides a lot of savings and each deal even indicates how much you save upon redemption. It also opens your experience to other smaller businesses that you may not have considered trying before using the app which ended up to be a great experience! Definitely worth the money to use the app.

The recent forced app update is horrible. It's more adspace than actual deals. The top and bottom bars are now larger so only one ad/deal is visible at a time. More than half the normal deals are behind a paywall that you can't turn off. I'm never going to pay 40 dollars to use "hooked gold." Please give us an option to turn that and those deals off. The app takes about 4 times longer to load now than the previous version. I don't see any improvements at all.

The new version is broken and doesn't go past the splash screen. Edit: this problem has been fixed. Appreciate the responsiveness of the developer to these issues. Edit #2: After checking back in on this app, it seems like you need to pay money for many deals that were once free.

Hooked can have some nice deals. Down side, it seems to have a lot of the same deals for Subway going at the same time. This makes it feel repetitive and that the app doesn't have any many deals as it could. It would be nice in the future if the Hooked marketing dept could work to offer more local business deals instead of just major restaurant chain deals.

I have loved the Hooked App since the beginning! I started using it when it was first available in my town, and it definitely saved me a lot of money (especially on chai lattes). They still have a lot of great deals on the free version, but I've recently subscribed to the Gold version to try it out. I love this version too! It's worth it for me because there are some great free or almost-free deals on things that I love (pizza, bubble tea, salads). For me, the app subscription cost has definitely paid for itself. I recommend at least the free app to my coworkers all the time, and they love saving money too! Thank you for all the savings over the years!

This app went downhill lately. They recently implemented "gold" which is a 'pay for coupons' version of the app, and the 'gold' deals are interspersed between the regular ones, so it's basically all you see. On top of that, several of the old, free deals seem to have been moved to 'gold'. ON TOP OF THAT, I see a few deals on 'gold' that I know for a fact are offered by restaurants without even needing this app, which means Hooked is charging you *just* to know about deals in your town. Unusable.

Used to be good finds, now it's all bait and switch... There's almost no deals at all now that aren't gold deals reserved for monthly subscribers. Should just be advertised as a monthly subscription service, which is fine, but it's not an easy and free coupon service anymore and shouldn't be advertised still as that kind of app. Uninstalling.

App changed to a subscription model, so now any deals worth having are locked behind a paywall, so the app no longer saves you money. Uninstalled. Most deals are for $1-$2 off, so you'd have to use this many times before it's a good deal and not just a pointless money hole. At best, users might break even, but I probably wouldn't save a penny.

Hooked is my favorite food/drink app. In Fort Collins we have so many restaurants and it's so hard to decide where to go to eat and get amazing drinks. Hooked is always there to help my friends and family make that decision. There are discounts all over town and I have tried out so many amazing places just because of Hooked. I save countless dollars every month and engage with places I was too stubborn to try in the past. I have gotten "hooked" so many times and I absolutely love it!

Overall this is a good app to save a few bucks on lunch. The 4 minutes time limit to show the voucher may feel a little rushy especially when wifi is not great inside the restaurant. I usually tried to activate the coupon before step inside the restaurant to avoid app or vonnrction issue. Therefore, the time limit should a little longer than 4 minutes. I think.

Loved the app until I got a new phone and now can't log into my account or request a new password. It is not even a matter of forgotten password,I literally can't even press the buttons. Not the first time this app has had major interface issues, but not being able to use it at all means my subscription cost is a waste...

Enjoy hooked, but it's not letting me log in after I paid for 6month membership. When the log in button turns blue after I type in my email and pass it will not let me click on screen. Using samsung galaxy s8+. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Looking at your reviews other people seem to be having the same problems.

Ive been using this app for the last 3 years while being up at college. I didnt use it crazy often but when I did it I was really happy with the deals, especially all the free food as well. The recent app has just come out with a new update where you have to be a paying member just to get any good deals or the free food items. Its a major dissapointment when this app was used in times of need or when low on monry (as a college student) and now you have to pay just to get anything out of it.

Hooked Gold has ruined the App. We used to use Hooked all the time, and would frequently decide on where to go if there was a deal on Hooked. But now most of the decent deals are part of Hooked Gold. It seems like many of the Hooked Gold deals are the same deals as before just now you have to pay for them. It also seems like many restaurants that had regular deals on Hooked have stopped using it. It is barely worth checking the normal version and certainly doesn't seem worth paying for.

Used to be fine. Now it is impossible to log in. I tried signing up with every option and it just refused to work. In addition, the normal android back gesture doesn't work anywhere. Would love to use the app but at the moment it's basically unusable.

The recent changes to this app have made me change from a 5 star to a 1 The new gold feature glitches all my phones. I-phone to Samsung. The app also is not as easy to use and very confusing with what is premium and what is not. Been a long time fan and have probably referred over 100 people to actually downloading this app . The price for gold isnt worth twice the amount you typically save in a month. I am very displeased and I uninstalled it. Most of our favorite places are now getting off app

I've recently been checking the Hooked Deals app ever since they started the Gold Deals, and literally almost ALL of the good deals that were once freely available are now gold level. What little is left of the free deals without a membership are NOT worth the hassle of going to redeem, so the app's basically USELESS.

App used to be great. Used it here and there for the occasional deal when I thought about it. But then they came out with the Gold paid membership, and now 90% of the deals are only available with it. The ocassional $2 saved isn't worth the $5 per month they want. Uninstalled.

Used to be awesome. Now the good deals are only available if you pay for the gold plan which negates the savings for an average user. The free deals arent worth anything. All my favorite restaurants stopped using the app when they switched to making it a paid membership service.

App was workong great until after the recent update, the app opened the first time without any problem but when trying to open it again it just shows a blank white screen and I just have to reinstall the app if I want to use it again. Hopefully there is a fix.
