Horrible program. It's repetitive over and over and very boring for a child. Not only that but I signed up for the subscription and they added on to my subscription items I did not request or desire. For which they charged me for 4 months. When I contacted them in regards to the item that I do not desire they completely disregarded the fact that I did not order this item and providing me with no such compensation. Buyer beware.
The app has stopped loading modules with no fix. Reached out to the company to solve the issue but they only gave a generic auto response with very basic "fix" tips. Uninstalling, clearing data and so on do not solve the problem. Very disappointed in the lack of service/support 1 star.
Hi, I am trying to subscribe the monthly subscription. But it doesn't allow . It automatically shows lifetime subscription with charges of rs4600. Can someone help fix this ? I liked the way it is developed. My kid enjoyed the free trial.
There are no words to describe how happy I am with this app! I am SO grateful I decided to down load it! In just few months of using it I see all the progress my little guy has had! it's is amazing too see him not only recognizing letter sounds and blending those sounds but actually READING!!! he knows how to identify beginning,middle and ending sounds! I work for 18 years as preschool teacher and honestly I wish I had this app before! big THANKS Hooked on Phonics for such an outstanding program
Hooked on phonics has helped a little bit but no where near as much as I was expecting. After 3 months it seemed like both kids were stuck with the actually reading. They knew their letters and sounds but reading was still beyond them. After this I got abc mouse and now they are reading fluently. If I had to choose I would of just used abc mouse
Every parent needs a hero. Enter this App. We needed something educational for our 4 year old that we could trust her to use without us hovering over her. There are NO in App adds, no garbage, and the music is boommmb. My daughter completes the lessons and thinks singing the songs is the reward. App works great, after sitting with her the first few times she's able to complete the lessons while I work around the house. Cheaper than the other apps and the granddaddy of phonics.Let's go!!!
Overall the app is great. We were really concerned about her inability to retain new information and my daughter is not the kind of kid who wants to sit down and look at screens but this is able to catch her attention. She does really well with it and I think she's going to be ahead by the time she starts kindergarten in the fall.
I give it a zero if I can. I was charged 24.69. I been trying to login still having issues for week it ridiculous. I'm not pleased. I received the books. The first time and I tryed to cancel few weeks I can't cause I can't figure it out then I got a charge balance. I'm disputing with my bank this dumn. My child who is autistic and ADHD wanted to learn. And never got the experience at all very upsetting and fustrating. I need a phone number for direct call. I want my money back.
The app needs a lot of work. It's not every user friendly for kids learning coordination. My 3 and 5 year old have trouble clicking the options allowed because you have to put you finger directly in the middle of the object to move it. It's makes it very frustrating for kids when they have to repeatedly click their selection. Second biggest issue is that it doesn't repeat the name or sound of an object if pressed. Kids need to hear sounds multiple times... not just the instructions.
I am very disappointed in this app and the whole Hooked on Phonics system. I used HOP years ago for my children and many others. Was great and I recommended to many. Fast forward to now and the system hardly ever works. The app seems stuck and can not move forward. I will be cancelling my subscription today!
I created an account with 2 children and one stays on the other, I can't ever find the account to. I've had constant issues with using the app, one minute it'll log me in the next it won't. I keep recieving messages stating my log in isn't correct after it goes thru the 1st time.
The app makes me go to the web site to cancel my subscription which says I have to cancel my subscription via the app which brings me back to the web page. Very frustrating.
This is a great app. Each section is just long enough to hold my 2 and 4 year olds attention. They love the songs and games.
If you download this app you can't get the $1 deal from the website or easily sign up for any other plan. Horrible service, do not recommend if you want to avoid a headache
The app is pretty boring?. It doesn't do much on keeping my 3 and 2 yr old interested.i thought it was going to be fun,interesting and captivating but i was sadly mistaken. This app does a lot of repeating the samething but on diffenerant levels also the narrator its's hard to understand him at times when he's speaking or pronounciating a word. That is especially true when he is read the books.
Got my account. Logged in with initial password. No settings button to change it. No sound or buttons to turn sound on. Closed app. Reopened. App loads to a blank screen. Glad I only paid a dollar. Now to see if they honor cancelation.
I am not sure what is going on with the app, but, I received a notice of payment issues when there were none, and now I cannot uplod the app for use! What is really going on?
Suddenly the sound stopped working and I can't get it to come back on. Sound works on other apps. Tried to Uninstaller and reinstall and now can't even log in.
My 3 yr old finds it boring and super repetitive. I understand the same concepts need to be gone over, but maybe different games, not just the same 3 or 4 things over and over and over again
It won't let me cancel, it directs me to Google play to cancel, and I did, but I'm still getting charged.
So far today was the 1st try and I have a 7 yo. He has a speech delay, possibly dyslexic and is getting screened for autism spectrum.If a 3yo isn't following directions I would work on that before trying to get them to sit and play the game 2 learn If my son was younger he'd be more annoyed than anything But because he now understands that this apart of school work and it's better than writing so he likes it. It's all about your kids readiness over suggested age We like it so far.
3 stars because he was showing progress before issues started. Originally purchased the app before they changed it. Since it has changed we've had lots of issues of progress not being saved. I also recently have had issues with loading. It seems to get to 33% and sit there for about 5 minutes before either it times out or opens up but runs slow. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it more than once. I even tried it on my other devices and we are running to into the same issue.
Got started with the previous version of the app, my son loved it, then when they came out with this new updated version, my old version wouldn't work, so I was forced to update, and my son really dislikes it (I don't like it either, it is slow and buggy and not as creative or entertaining). He was actually enjoying reading lessons for once, and was looking forward to seeing all the Big Reading Shows. Contacted CS, it is not possible to return to old version.
I was super excited to try this out with my 3 1/2 year old. He was excited at first, too, but that quickly diminished. It's the same games over and over and over. I know you need repetition, but add more games! He loved the songs but after 2-3 of the games he's just over the whole thing, so I can't even get him through an entire lesson in one sitting. Also, to click into the songs and games is so finicky it's absolutely annoying, and my poor son could never click it right to even get into them
I loved this app, but the new version is not good. No bright colors and my kids that need the pre reading are now bored. No Big reading show! They loved it and were telling me letters and such. Now it is just practicing letters and they are not wanting to do it. My older kid who is reading is doing well still but it's hard for her to find how to go back and forth to practice more. Also it lets her go forward without finishing! I want the bright colors and more songs back!
Keeps messing up! My son wants to play so bad but we have had to reset the app 3 times in the last 10 minutes. Multiple lessons/games will pop up at once, so you hear instructions for two or three different areas talking over each other and the screen will freeze or turn dark with all the layers! Looking over reviews it looks like this has been a problem for a while. When will this be fixed?
Terrible new version, avoid!!! You would think they would make a newer better version, why would you change the whole app into something that looks old and outdated... The letters are tiny now, the colors are so opaque and the main menu is so confusing! It's very repetitive and it no longer attracts my son's attention. I pay about 15 dollars a month and he was showing great progress but since they changed the app he gets bored easily. Save your money!
App won't load up. I've uninstalled and reinstalled like I was told to do from customer support. I was finally able to download 1 book but when I went to the next section it stopped working again and 30 minutes later the app was still spinning. If I uninstall it I'll lose everything. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I purchased hooked on phonics from the website. I don't understand why I can't use the website to get what I paid for instead of using an app that has never worked since the day I installed it.
