Hoplite Polytonic Greek Keyboard

This is a great app! Love it!! But it will be mind blowing if it had a spell check (spelling recommendation). Even just the plain word, cause I understand it's very hard to do with the spirits and accents, there are a lot of grammatical factors. But just the word... and you can go and add spirits/accents in after you select the word, as needed. I think it will get a lot more people using the app, and helping them learn how to write in polytonic Greek. Please consider it.

I find I'm using Google's Gboard in Greek to do the typing and then switch to this to do the accents. No good swipe feature, not a complete punctuation set, and it's kinda clunky when switching between this, and Gboard for English, and Hebrew, but it's solid and stable and gets the job done. It's a work horse, not a show pony. When you've got work to do adding accents to your Greek text, this is how you get it done.

I have the same problem as another reviewer: I cannot switch between the keyboards. I cannot do this with other 3rd party keyboards, either. Maybe my phone is outdated: Android 6.0.1 Update, 8-19-20 This app is awesome. I was able to figure out how to switch keyboards, so this is now my ancient Greek keyboard of choice.

My father uses this app exclusively to write on the Facebook and Facebook messenger apps. There is no return key to make a new paragraph. If you press the enter key for either of these apps it sends the message instead of entering a space or creating a new paragraph. In other keyboard apps he is able to press shift + enter to create a new line or paragraph. If there was a way to do this it would be perfect for him. He only writes using polytonic Greek and is very frustrated since other android keyboards don't have all the accents he needs.

Outstanding! This is by far the easiest way to write ancient Greek that I've ever seen. You have everything at your fingertips: breathings, the three accents, iota subscript, etc. It's far easier and faster than trying to fumble around on the char map on pc., and I feel it's easier than handwriting it too.

I originally downloaded the Greek keyboard through Google, but i quickly discovered that it did not have accents. This keyboard, however, does! I'm studying Attic Greek right now in university and I wanted to make virtual flashcards thru Anki, so this app really helped me because I can now make flashcards with accents! The layout is of the keyboard is also nice and I like that the punctuation is easily accessible.

It would be a pretty good Greek keyboard EXCEPT that when I want to switch to Hoplite from my usual English Gboard, the Gboard goes away but Hoplite does not appear. I can't type anything until I close what I'm doing and open the Hoplite app, then return to what I was doing, after which the Hoplite keyboard appears. (The phone is a ClearPhone 220 running Android). Can you fix this?

I adore this keyboard. The only thing I don't like is that to access it, I need to long press the language key, it does not cycle like the other keyboards. Other than that, it's terrific and it doesn't contain ads

There is no circumflex accent marking Edit: Ah. In my instructional booklet for college the circumflex accent is one that looks like an upside-down curved line above a vowel, but after some research I see that it might also look similar to a tilde accent.

Its a wonderful keyboard I'm sure, however, I am not able to install it as a keyboard i can switch between which is quite annoying so I would love some help with that.

Good keyboard with all the accents and rare letters like qoppa, stigma, lunate sigma, etc. Would love to know what lovely font is used in the testing field on the app!

This is a very good keyboard, and I'd go as far as to say that it's essential for anyone who wants to type Ancient Greek on their device

I love this app! My husband and I are taking Greek right now, the bad thing is that Quizlet (where we have or flashcards) does not take any answers. This is the only app that is helpful and fast to type in Greek and that has all the breathing marks and accents that we need; however, using it in Quizlet will be a great deal! This is amazing. However, in order for it to become widespread, you must include predictive text with machine learning, and swipe capabilities, as well as the ability to resize the keyboard. Thank you for your work.

Excellent app and a must-have for all those who prefer the polytonic writing system. It works like a charm! I, for one, feel indebted to its creator! Thank you very very much dear Mr. Jeremy March! PS If you could possibly port your app to windows phone 10 (for Nokia Lumia phones), your commendable contribution will be complete!

Right now, the enter key doesn't allow you to "submit". Ex. After typing something in Google Search, pressing enter only adds a space. Could you add this ability?

Works great on my phone and my phone isn't very old. TESTING SCREEN GLITCH BELOW But there is a glitch with the test screen (not the normal keyboard use) that causes the app to crash if you select any diacritical mark before any letter.

Am I missing something? How do you switch back and forth, on the fly, between this and an English keyboard?

Hi, installed as per instructions but could not switch between keyboards. Grrr frustrating
