Handy ap to have Time used well
The worst thing about this app is the need to go back to your computer to write reports. It needs to get with the times and have photo annotation in app. There are other inspection apps that I have tried which have this and it's WAY easier. I stay with Horizon though because the reports that it generates look so much better. I just hate having to sit at my computer at the end of the day to do up the reports.
We love discover Horizon - we're able to do the majority of our reports on site, our clients they're Realtors and the selling Realtors love our reports. We have clients who call us back 3 years later because they are using their reports as a home reference manual and had some slight questions from referencing the report / hyperlinks.
For a company that charges $795 PER YEAR to use this software, it should be flawless!! It's not all bad; the final reports look pretty good and the extras like online scheduling and business analytics are nice, but the user interface is lacking, clumbsy and time consuming on the mobile app. I just feel all over the place when trying to do a report onsite with lotsa of unnecessary clicking. Boiler plate comments are hard to locate. Can't upload pic to report from phone. Can't upload pics with speed write
This is the best home inspection software on the planet. This is truly a 100% cloud based application, all reports are saved on the providers servers for anytime retrieval. The report content can literally reduce your liability.

On my HTC Incredible smartphone: There is no zoom, no option for infill flash when you need it, dark & blurry pictures compared to my camera photo app on the HTC. It consistently hangs & requires "force close" & rebooting. I have yet to complete an entire Inspection without resorting back to my digital camera, I find myself focusing more on the reporting/photo taking & entry issues & less on the property & the client. For me this app does not "spend less time report writing and more time on things you deserve." I rate it <1.
cannot upload photos. "IT" always says "there's a work-around" Guess what? Just make it work. I don't want to have to figure out your secret "work-around" . . . All the different versions are VERY different from each other so if you learn one, you're lost in the others. Horizons own spell check feature boggs down when checking its own verbiage like "downspouts" and several others. Other times, when you upload a title page photo, there's 3 or more click just to get the job done when one should do. More clicks than necessary to accomplish basic tasks. There's a Microsoft mentality going on here, and it's not acceptable! Make it user friendly, hello? Also, the self-"help" feature has not been updated since it was first introduced . . LACKING. If I hadn't bought so many credits when they offered some promo, I'd be outta here . . . . In case you do not understand, MAKE IT WORK, MAKE IT INTUITIVE, MAKE IT THE BEST REPORT WRITING SYSTEM, BECAUSE AS OF NOW IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!
Samsung tablet camera doesn't work. Also a required items listings would be useful. Could be a little more robust.
Used it the other day. I love it but, when I clicked on an item the illustration that normally goes with that item wasn't generated so I have to go back on my computer and re-click items to get the illustrations in the report. Example would be asphalt shingles. Normally the illustration is put in automatically. If I have to go back and re-do the report it's not savinge much time. Fix that and this app will be a huge time saver for me and other Horizon users. Wish I could schedule insp from it.
Easy to use
Counter intuitive, clunky, slow and way overpriced. I had a free trial and gave up after a week. Just terrible.
Every other report writing software tries to be everything to everyone. With Horizon, Alan Carson reinvents it completely by creating a new but simple approach. It's certainly Alan's style and you need to customize your writing style to his but when you are done, it's the most elegant report writing software on the market.
love the ease of access that this ap provides. it takes the horizon software to a whole new level
App open to black screen and does nothing. I will change review when the app works.
