Horse Rider SOS

Developed for Android, Horse Rider SOS is a unique app for the rescue of Horse Riders who find themselves isolated and in trouble.
Horse-riding is a great way for us to get out and about to explore and enjoy the countryside but as riders we all know and accept that riding is not without its risks. Horses can be un-predictable. They can stumble, fall, spook and bolt, unseating their rider and leaving them injured
- potentially isolated miles from home.

The ‘Horse Rider SOS’ concept is simple. It works by monitoring your activity while you ride
- and in the event that you should fall off and are injured or unconscious, will send an alert to your chosen friends and family from your buddy list. What’s fantastic about this app is due to the Gps capability of your smart-phone, ‘Horse Rider SOS’ is able to pin point exactly where you are and once the alert is triggered will send your ‘Gps position’ (via email) so that your rescuers are able to find you without delay. Before you head off on your ride
- simply open the ‘Horse Rider SOS’ app on your Android, press the ‘Start button’ and now ‘Horse Rider SOS’ will monitor your every move and track you while you ride. As long as it continues to detect your movement it will remain in ‘tracking mode’ and it will watch over you until your safe return.

In the event that you are unseated and fall off your horse and are unconscious or unable to move, ‘Horse Rider SOS’ will immediately enter ‘Alert Mode’ and the rescue process will begin. At this point your predetermined ‘buddies’ will be notified that you’re in trouble and will be sent your location so that you can be found and rescued without delay.

False Alarms
- To avoid false alarms there is a built in fail-safe so that the alerts are only sent after a pre-determined and user-defined period of inactivity. Before the SOS is sent ‘Horse Rider SOS’ will warn you that it has entered ‘Alert mode’ and if it’s not a genuine emergency will give you the opportunity to over-ride it.

So now with ‘Horse Rider SOS’ you can ride alone safe in the knowledge that should the worst happen, an alert will be sent and help will be on its way.

A great little app for anyone who rides alone. Gives you an audible warning before it alerts your emergency contact. Just don't sit on your horse chatting or forget to turn it off after a ride.

Used this today as a test like the warning however I think it would be better if it could inform more than 1 person at a time

After 4 tries to download from google play store, none successful, and numerous emails and error reports to the developer with no response, I finally got a successful download off the web. The feature that is supposed to disable the sleep feature didn't work on my droid so the alarm kept going off. The map link in the email was cut off so buddy couldn't locate me. Would love it if not for these issues.

I've been using this for 4 months and have never had issues with it. The pre alarm is noisey (which it needs to be) It will spook nervous horses, to get mine familiar with it i let the alarm run whilst feeding her she did freak out at first...4 days later she didn't care at all, i still do this sometimes to keep her familiar. The reason it only gets 4 stars is you can only have 1 active buddy, being able to alert all 3 would be better. I wouldn't put ambulance as a buddy as this isn't a 999 call.

Far too sensitive.. The alarm sounded while i was riding n spooked my horse n then stopped sounding!

I ride on my own too, this is a great idea. Even if in a group its not always easy to explain where you are, there aren't always signs to tell emergency services.

Wife rides in our field! Alert goes off when not stationary. Alert says she is miles away! Not our phones but this app!

This app takes up a lot of memory and doesn't let you move to SD card!! Please sort this out as I'll have to uninstall and I've not used it yet!

Too expensive. I could have made the app myself it's so simple. and it's got multiple issues....
