I was having issues on the website so I thought the app would be better. I am having the same issue on both. The item interface is working for me, but when I go to check out, there is no continue button. I figured it would just be the "go" option on my keyboard, but once I add all my info and hit "go" it doesn't work and I get a bunch of coded text. I also thought I could just log in to my account, but it didn't recognize my password, and when I tried to reset it, I never got the email.
I live in Canada. I didn't realise until I ordered but everything is in USD and there is no CAD option so I can see the actual prices. I thought I was getting free shipping, but that's only in america, instead I had a $40 USD shipping fee. None of the app items could be shipped to any of my local Hot Topic branches even though they were listed. Some items couldn't even be shipped to Canada. App is not useful to purchase from or even browse stock. Will delete.
Canadians Beware! All prices and free shipping promotions are for American customers only! There is no way to set prices to canadian dollars. Many items cannot even be shipped to Canada, but the app will not tell you until you go to checkout! Very frustrating to be excited for an item just to find out it for some reason can't be shipped to you. It's like this app is completely unaware that Hot Topic is in Canada as well.
not sure how to feel about it (I'm a cheapskate no shame here) paid 15.68$ in store with 40% discount (5$ shipping fee that I wasn't aware of). thought hmmm I wonder if I buy it online with 30% sign-up coupon, would be cheaper, app said 0$ shipping (not sure if that always applies). Yes 11.30$, yes it was cheaper online. I guess it's not so much a review on the app but HotTopic it's self. still 5 stars for variety of products & the acceptance of us 'outsiders'.
App is horrible, love the store it's self, but the app won't let you sign in, it says "password Incorrect" even if you've just changed it, if you try to make a new account it says "email already in use" even if you've just made the email, wishlist won't ever load, nothing, half the time if you even add something to your list it refuses to add, says bad wifi no matter what, even if I'm on data, nothing won't work, even if you delete the app, or restart your phone.
I love buying stuff at hot topic and I prefer apps over mobile websites because theyre often easier to navigate, but what's weird is that I have a phone number with them as I've been shopping here since I was like 10 years old, but no email as they've never asked for one? But the only way to login is with an email, if I try to sign up for an account with my email it requires a phone number but then tells me that account already exists😅no winning. Idk what 2 do
It's not as much the app as the company itself. I made a purchase assuming one of my items I bought was in stock. My order seemingly went through. I was really looking forward to this item. My order was then cancelled and refunded because this item was apparently out of stock. As glad as I am that I was refunded, it's really disappointing that the item was listed as in stock and I was able to make the initial purchase under the premise it was in stock and I was really looking forward to it.
I love Hot Topic, the app is just a little buggy sometimes, and removing items from your cart is a little difficult. I usually just add to wishlist because that saves me the time of trying to figure out how to just remove it.
One of the worst apps I've used. The wishlist doesn't load, it constantly glitches out, putting your card number in is a nightmare because of the glitches, it doesn't properly load/freezes up. Not that the website is any better.
first of all fix your system that we're supposed to put our credit card information in and it freaks out and we have to fight for 10 minutes to get it in there second I'd like to see my receipt before it disappears and survey comes up and then because I tried to get my order back up to see the confirmation codes that I didn't get to see it doesn't give the feedback thing fix credit card issue because I'm not the only one who's had this issue my mother had it as well when she went to order
It's a good app all in all. I can see a lot of products easily and the stuff I buy is always great. My main issue is that my wishlist doesn't load properly. Often times I find myself not being able to look at what I have on there due to a false network error. I hope this gets fixed because I don't want to have to reinstall the app constantly for it to work.
For me personally, it's better than the website (as it glitches and whatnot). The best thing about the website is that the wishlist works (last I check). While the app's wishlist doesn't work. Maybe it's a me thing, who knows, but it consistently makes me reload. Other than that, highly suggest downloading the app of you shop at HT!
I can't access the wish list, which I expected looking at the other reviews but I can't even check out :( the last few weeks I've been trying to check out and it just doesn't load ever and it's just upsetting. I ended up just using the website but I don't understand the point of a mobile app if the website works better.
I have to uninstall and reinstall the app if I don't get on it every few day because it just stops connecting to the internet. It'll tell me it can't connect even though I'll switch to another app and use it just fine. It will say it can't connect then once I uninstall and reinstall, it magically connects. It's such a pain to use. Ps. Everyone seems to be having the same issue, but yall are refusing to fix it. This has been happening for months.
hot topic is hit or miss when you order Funko pops. sometimes they come shipped protected with a cardboard sorter, other times I've had pops sent in a bag as if it was a t-shirt. needless to say the pop was completely destroyed not just the box but the actual pop on the inside was all to pieces. this is highly disappointing why would anyone ship a collector's item in a bag that you would normally ship t-shirts in. no boxes???? really hot topic you can do better than that!
App is pretty great. EXCEPT, now the checkout is being super laggy taking forever to load and my brand card isn't showing as an option, nor any way for me to add it back. Please fix this!
I like this app! Very up my alley when it comes to fashion! But whenever I try to check my wishlist, it doesn't show me, but says that there's an error opening up my wish list and that I should check my network and try again- when I have excellent internet too- and when I turned off and on my internet- So I give it a 4 star for now until I fix it!
When I first installed this everything was great but after the update all of my 118 items on my wishlist were completely gone. Now I have to start all over again.
I do have this obsession with Hot Topic gives me a selection I may purchase. Money is money they say! Loving the sales using hot cash not all of them can match the coupons. Store is awesome!!
as much as I love being able to shop online for HT the most annoying part is accessing the shopping cart ,it's so bad that I won't even buy anything, however so far it's been okay for loading just takes a few minutes ,can we please fix this
Very nice overall buying experience. Similar to any other shop app and close to the main website. Only issues i have are 1)I constantly get a "error loading wishlist" like many others have noted. And 2)the site wishlist and app wishlist are not connected. I would give this a higher rating if those issues get resolved.
I've always had issues with the HT site and app keeping the right shipping/billing addresses. I feel like when I change one it changes the other, or keeps the one I tried to change. Maybe bc I use PayPal? Also I think it's stupid that I can't leave product reviews on the app. Otherwise, a decent app. Not amazing lol
It's a wonderful app, and I love it. The only reason I'm giving it a 3 star is because, even when I have wifi and full bars, it still will not allow me access to my wishlist, it's really annoying and I hope you fix this.
I absolutely love everything hot topic they always have a good sale and the app always offers you discount codes to extra money off your favorite items. never had any issues with the app or online shopping!
Use to be a good app but now can not continue with checking out. Can't even check out on the website either. Updated it today and still will not work.
I have not been able to see my wishlist literally in 3 years. Not aweful, I'm still more likely to use it than get on the computer but it's annoying.
I'm having issues with the wishlist. It keeps saying error loading wishlist. It's been like this forever and can't figure out what to do.
This app is rough to use. Connection to the user accounts and online store don't always match. Needs some work to be more user friendly.
I buy everything from here! The quality is great the customer service is awesome and when I go into the stores the atmosphere is always fun!
This app would be great if I didn't just spend hours adding a bunch of stuff to my wish list and it not show it to me. Kinda pisses me off. It keeps saying error internet not strong enough to connect. My internet and WiFi is perfectly fine. They for every other app of mine without no problem. The internet works fine on the app until I try to look at my wish list. Which is stupid because I didn't just add a lot of stuff to the wish list just to not be able to view it later.
