setup the track and spent hours trying to get the app to work. Every single time i connect to the track a pop up giving me troubleshooting steps comes up and does not go away until i either force the app to close or turn bluetooth off on thr track to get it to go away. i can see that everything is working behind the warning but cant make any selections. Would be awesome if the app actually worked
The app detracts from the track experience. You need to watch the phone to control the cars, so you don't even notice when one flips off the track. When you go over to put a cat back on, it loses the ar tracking. This would have been the coolest track of it had normal controllers instead of using this app.
my son received for Christmas and was very disappointed because track would not update and could not use it, (I have a samsung galaxy 9 and also tried a galaxy note with no luck). Have been messing with this track for 10 days now. I ended up using my sisters Iphone 10 and it updated the track in about 1 minute. After her phone did the update I was able to connect with all other devices and track is working great now. Definitely disappointed in hot wheels on this but glad it finally works.
We got this for my son for Christmas... What a mistake. We had the same issues as everyone else did but we were hopeful (naive) in thinking that Hot Wheels would make this right. We were finally able to connect to the track by enabling the app permissions (it would be a good idea to actually inform your customers that the app doesn't request the needed permissions and that you need to do so manually). Unfortunately, after connecting, the app would usually freeze. Charger ports won't work.
description of experience is simple ...this is a Terrible product. The app is huge and doesnt sync or load, the track is ardenous to assemble. it is not at all a pleasurable moment to set up physically or electronically. Krampus can come back and take this heap of trash. no wonder this prOduct went from 130$ to 70$ .....it's garbage. thank god we also kept it old skool with a big box of hot wheel cars and trucks. much more joy frOm that.
It was tricky putting the track together and connecting the track to my phone. But we were able to get everything connected and running. I had to pair the track to my phone after turning on my bluetooth. Then, I had to set the track as a trusted device on my phone. After that, we were charging the cars and raced.
The concept s great, execution, not so much. It required an update, which our S8 and S9's couldn't provide, so we tried an iPhone and it worked. At this point, out of an S7, S8, S9 and iPhone 8, only the iPhone and S9 work with the track. Overall, very displeased at this time.
The app crashes constantly. When you are racing with 2 players, you can't even finish a race with more than 50 laps. I have updated and re-installed the app. I have a great router and fast internet.
The app is total garbage, have wasted hours trying get it to connect to the race track. BT is constantly not working correctly. Have spent 6 hours and still have not been able to play with this app and track.
I bought this for my child for Christmas. Was not hard to assemble and took me all of 10 minutes to do so. It looks great. I have 2 Samsung Galaxy S8's. App didn't work correctly (firmware update) and one of the car charging lanes would not engage. Called tech support (nice people no 3rd shift). They sent me a new car docking/charging part /w upgraded blue car. Update firmware failure still. New car will not charge. Great idea but bad follow through. Returning to store tomorrow.
UPDATE- I spoke with Customer Service and they said the cars needed to be replaced. Got new cars and same problem, they told me my phone was too new and at some point no timeline there would be an app update to fix but for now I should try and find an older phone to use... for now it is a hunk of plastic to trip over!! Put the track together for my son and then get to the app and spent twice as much time trying to get app to work. Tried S9+, S4 Tablet and iPhone 10 and still not working.
Failer on all fronts. Bought the last twk thinking my boys could setup in diffrent rooms and race tell the where wore out. Well i am wore out set it up which by the way the app did not help one bit kept freezing. Once setup everything else failed. Can not get anything to work right.
Complete junk. Called customer support and they sent a new base and blue car, cool. Tried to connect again and still nothing with a Pixel and Pixel 2 phone. Tried uninstalling the app and it won't even download now! Sorry Hot Wheels, you screwed the pooch with this one. Sending the track back!
Does not work! Multiple calls to customer support, new cars, reloading app, and hard restarts. Hot Wheels has discontinued this product as well. It doesn't work and wasted many hours. RETURN FOR REFUND!
can hot wheels and anyone that has connected to the track please tell which devices you used. i have a brand new phone. google pixel 3 plus. no reason it shouldn't work. this is a major disappointment and i expect more then just a refund. i already called customer service and received a new blue car that still doesn't work. just be straight up with your customers.
same story as everyone else, bought this for our son for Christmas. the track requires an update that fails immediately upon starting after the track connects via Bluetooth. you can't get by the menu and use the game without the update. it's being returned today, just simply because if this is how it works out of the box, i can only imagine that this will be completely useless by next Christmas. great concept, unfortunately it wasn't ready to be released.
Is this track really programmed for Android phones at all? I've tried and tried, even with replacement pitstop, and my Samsung Galaxy S8 still can't content successfully. From reading all the reviews, it appears that only an Apple iPad will work! Really disappointing!
The app does not work and bluetooth will not stay connected. Keeps saying connection rejected by hw augmoto. We have tried several different devices. still nothing. Very disappointing for my son..
Track is set. We can't hetvtje app to charge both phones. Certainly this is a very difficult moment for us and our grandson. It just doesn't operate. We have tried just about everything
Was wondering if i could get the replacment part where the cars come off the loop and onto the track/base. Also, the clear piece that goes over the seperator for the charger/pits. App works great. When I got in the app, it told me I should contact you to get the newly updated cars. Please suport team I need to know ASAP if you can send me those pieces and cars. Thank you
the biggest disappointment in my 33 year old toy loving (especially Hot Wheels) life and even bigger for my 8 year old son! Santa most definitely didn't make this in his work shop because this thing flat out doesn't work. Talked to Hot Wheels four times, they even sent us a new main piece that includes the Bluetooth, charger, etc. The app is trash and it does not link. Uncle, a very experienced IT guy, looked at it and says the Bluetooth system is faulty, WONT WORK REGARDLESS. Shame on Hot Wh...
I've been trying to get this to work for 3 hours now - no luck. I'm using an s9+. An android notification for the Augmoto app says Upload failed, DFU process failed. Hot Wheels - ever heard of testing the app before you release it? what a disappointment on Christmas morning.
i got this for christmas and it is not working (parents gave permission to write this review). please fix the error soon so that i can enjoy my big gift! the app keeps saying we need an update and some times it saysconne ted to track but then says something went wrong and will not update or let me play.
Just plain out doesn't work. Will not stay connected via Bluetooth to update or even get started. app freezes a lot while waiting as well. Glad grandpa waisted his $ and not I.
App crashes. If it connects, the 2 player mode won't connect and app will freeze. It's absolute rubbish!
Santa disappointed my 8 year old. he was really wanting this toy and for what?! just to watch it sit set up unable to do anything. it won't connect even after trying all the trouble shooting tips. it was s waste of money.
everythings working fine in the back ground of my note 8 but the error message keeps poping up saying "still not working" and when i try to exit out of that pop up it messes up the back ground progress
After trying to download the app many times. I just learned as of 12/29/18 the app is no longer compatible with all Samsung devices. That would have been good to know BEFORE I spent over $100+ on the track. Thank you for responding, however, i had already returned the track by the time you replied.
Very dissapointed. My son got it for Christmas present. We spent few hours to get the app working on several different devices s7, s8, galaxy tab A, LG - it didn't work on any of them. Returning it back to the store.
After assembling, downloading, re-downloading, and sitting on a customer service phone call one important fact was learned. As of 12/29 this app is incompatible with all Samsung devices running Android 7.0 and later. Do not attempt to use on Samsung phones, tablets, or anything. You might have success on other devices, but the fix for these systems is not available.
