This one finally works. It is a widget and not an app, so it can't be dragged into a collection, but I don't hold it against the app. The only thing that didn't make me 5 star this is that it doesn't restore wifi to previous state if you use widget to turn it off. I.e. if you had WiFi on prior and toggle hot spot on and off, it doesn't turn WiFi back on. That's all this is missing. (At least on s5 vz)
Works on stock MOTOX running 4.4.2. It turns on with no problem but will not turn it off. But I can just use the notification bar for that. If you cannot get this to "show up" learn how to create widgets on your home screens. It is NOT the fault of the developer if you don't know how. Long press on screen and select widgets, then select widget you want to place there. THERE IS NO APP IN THE APP DRAWER! IT IS A WIDGET!!!!
Doesnt work on anything new. I have a samsung s6. Im looking for a quick on/off switch for my hotspot. This doesnt do it at all.
This is the only hotspot widget that will work on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 4.4.2
I can't find the "hotspot" when I turn it on and it doesn't turn off what ever it's doing
On a Note 4, the icon looks like its made in paint, plus, since 5.1.1, the hotspot does not switch off when tapping it and the "wi-fi is resuming" feature does not work if you go to the hotspot setting in the android menu to turn it off.
I would gladly pay for this, took forever to find one that actually toggles the hotspot.
When you press the widget, it says tethering is active. But this is misleading as the hotspot isn't activated when you check the primary settings...
Worked great first two times while testing. Now only works intermittently. The widget will light up blue, indicate that it's checking subscription status for the hotspot capability, and sometimes it will actually engage the hotspot, other times, it won't, but it will stay blue. Not really sure what the root cause of the variance is here...
When I installed the app I would never see it in my apps.!
Doesn't work on my S5. It says it is turning the access on or off but it's not.

Said it was turning on and off buy wasn't. Uninstalled.
Finally one that works does just what it designed to do.

After trying 4 other widgets, this one works with my galaxy s5! I gave 4 stars because if your phone is plugged into charger, the hotspot won't turn on. It says tethering active. So, u have to unplug your charger, then plug it back in after turning off. Once that is fixed, 5 stars for sure. AND TO OTHERS THAT CAN'T FIND THIS "APP," IT'S A WIDGET THEREFORE IT IS NOT WITH THE APPS. Good luck! UPDATE: 2 days later, it does not switch it on, only switches it off. Uninstall.
Can't find in apps
It is not working in my tab.
It is a widget, not an app. That is why it doesn't show under downloaded apps. Press on empty space on any of your windows, search for it on widgets, install, and enjoy. Please go to youtube and learn how to install widgets instead of evidently being a noob. Good luck y'all.
