Hotword Changer+ for Assistant
Hotword Changer lets you use voice wake-up feature even when the screen is turned off.
By default, Hotword Changer will recognize you when you say like "Jarvis" etc. whenever the screen is on or your device is charging.
However, you can run it when the screen is off but comes at the cost of increased battery usage!

FAQs:
*Why it doesn't work in calls or other apps using the microphone?
Android doesn't allow two apps to capture audio at the same time to prevent latency issues. Android 10 solves this (kinda). If you are using a device with Android 10, make sure you turn off any other app using the microphone in the background (any!).
*Why it vibrates after saying the hotword but doesn't start Assistant?
Your phone restricts apps from starting other apps. Allow the Assistant to autostart.
(On Xiaomi phones, open recent screen > long-press the app window > Tap on lock)
*How can I add custom hotwords?
The current implementation requires thousand of recordings from different people & it's not efficient for custom hotwords. You can either write a review or use the send feedback button in the app to send the name you want.

Note:
*Simultaneous recording in apps is not allowed for third-party apps on Android (except Android 10). Hotword Changer makes this possible using a lot of hacks. Some features may or may not work.
*Make sure your home launcher doesn't have microphone permission.
*Feedbacks are appreciated.
*Devices not respecting "Android Foreground Services" will kill the app in the background. Check the OEMs website for possible solutions.
Permission notice:
Microphone: The app won't work at all because it needs to record what the user is saying.
Usage Access: Used to release microphone when any other app having recording permission is in the foreground (Not required on Android 10 & above).
Display over other apps: On Android 10 & above, apps can not start other apps without this permission. Hotword Changer won't be able to start your Assistant app. (Not required on pre-Android 10 devices).

Alright. This app is promising. The only issue is that without a voice match feature responding to my voice is only accurate ok the first attempt about 60% of the time. I'm gonna keep the app though because I have faith in future patches to improve this. I do have an additional request that if it patches in a response to the name "Edith" the name of Spider-Man's glasses.
Just downloaded and after adjusting a few settings on my phone it is working as expected! Ignore the 1 star ratings!! If it's not working you probably just need to change some settings around.. I emailed the developer and they got back to me very quickly and were able to help with which settings needed adjusted on my specific phone.
Slow response time. Loads at random. Unlocks phone without permission. Doesn't change voice; just the name you call out. Poorly design. Once updated the app runs in the background of your device. Literally any noise would activate the app in the locked device therefore unlocking it. Doesn't recognize owners voice even when programmed in device voice recognition setting. Which means anyone can activate the app on your device.
This app works around the annoying google restriction of google as the only hotword. Once I made sure the phone could not put the app to sleep the app works surprising well. The app not only removes the annoying restriction and but now I have a different hot word for each of my devices. No more multiple device opening google assistant when I say "Hey google." The app would be better if you could add your own audio files from the pull down list.
Works great for me. Saves me from saying google over and over and over again. Its a bit tricky at times as I need to get my voice command in very quick or else I get a pop up saying that "Assistant cannot start when another app is using the microphone". Other than that its pretty speedy to respond. I do wish we had an extra few hot words from other famous AIs, like "Janet" or "HAL".
it kinda worked but doesn't function as well as normal "ok google" hot word. and also won't work when the screen is turned off. love the refund feature so I could try it and make sure it was what I wanted. hope for improvements in the future so this can run smoothly. if that happens I will be back
Kinda silly that it's just over 2 dollars for such a simple app. But it works great. You can turn off ok Google hot word in the Google settings so it only responds to Jarvis. That way if you have a Google home they won't both respond at the same time and you can choose what one you want to respond. Very helpful thank you.
Does what it says it will do. Android Intents would allow programmatic access to turning it Off & On. In my case, I have an Android Headunit in my car, plus my phone. I'd like to launch this app (AND turn it On) while I'm in the car so I could direct either assistant. As is, I must remember to press a button to turn the app On & then, upon exiting the car, press a button to turn the app Off. I can simulate button presses using Tasker, but that's neither a direct, or elegant solution IMHO
When i change the name to Computer it turns on repeatedly even with the sensitivity turned all the way down. The other names do it also, but not as much. The app becomes very irritating and useless.
Sheila worked first time only so tried another hotword, works when calling it but it's also triggered by other words which sound nothing like your chosen hotword. Watched a YouTube video of a news report and it triggered almost every 2 seconds. Had to Uninstall. Needs some work. Shame.
App not working well if you exit the apps, not easy to use like in your youtube channel, so.. It's under my expected.. Not easy seems like when you say "ok google" and you just being the stupid spotlight when you in public area.. Fyi I've already setting in every step and still the same (not working when exit the app)
1. Would be very great if I could activate the app from any screen, including music apps, Google maps and other apps using sound. Or are least an option to enable this in advanced beta option Thank you!
Works like a treat, just needed to change default microphone source from Camcorder to Microphone and then it understands me with ease. Ignore 1 star reviews, just needs to be setup up properly.
This application is very nice but when I click the start button, after ten minutes this software shuts down automatically, it is very annoying to have to open this software again and again, you fix this problem so that it does not shut down automatically.
Definitely need fixing when I used to use the older version of this it was working like 65% of the time but not now it's just useless it doesn't even respond very disappointed my friend it's a paid app I paid for it and then also it's not working that's cruel please work on it btw I like the yes sir respond but after that it doesn't work please fix it after it I will give it 5 stars

It's not working on Android 11 Samsung A50.. I Already follow step by step instructions on help & feedback section.. After i said "Jarvis" it responded "Yes Sir" But it's not opening google assistant but bixby instead. Still nothing happened.. i tried for the second time said "jarvis" but it triggered nothing. Please help.
App is good yet with Messenger if i turn it on and i send Audio Messages through messenger they don't send the sound just the illusion of a sent audio. Please fix this Galaxy S10+ thru Galaxy S8+ tried it on my current to my other phones and its the same
I have to say some words like 10 times before it comes up, there Is no problem with Marvin or Happy. I thought maybe my accent I bad but I say those words to Google assistant and it recognized them every time.
Works great so far. I turned off 'Hey Google' activation in Assistant settings, and set the Microphone Source under 'More Options' to 'mic'.
Doesn't open the default assistant app. Keeps trying to open the Bixby app on my Samsung phone. There's no option to remap this in the app Samsung Default assist app is set to Google
Does as advertised. I have a bug where assistant sometimes won't do anything after launching, saying the microphone is already in use. Any way to stop this?
Sometimes it doesn't responding, and shows error message "GoogleRecording therefore HotwordChangerTemporarily unable to record". Please respond fast. I already does your suggestion on other comments.
Looks good but it only opens Bixby instead of Google assistant even after I have checked ans made sure that in the settings it needs to work with Google.
When I purchased it, working fine. But now its not responding. I try screaming "Jarvis" and no response from the app. And FYI, I give it all the permissions.
I love this, was getting fed up saying ok Google the whole time. Jarvis is better. Is it possible to record new ones, or is it just the ones on the list ?
This is working on my Pixel 2 XL perfectly as advertised. I have been waiting since Assistant's release for them to allow us to change the hotword. How many times do you say "google" during the day and the phone triggers in error? It works very well and I haven't come across any issues yet. One thing to fix is the the notification says 'just say "Jarvis"' even after I change the hotword. The hotword should change on the alert as well. One future request is please add "Alfred" as a hotword. It would be even more awesome to have many more hotwords to choose from.
