Not loud enough. I use downloaded tone (wristwatch beep) but it is not as loud as I would like. A "Casio beep" or a 'louder watch-type' "beep beep" would be better if added in as an in-app tone since they 'seem' louder.
I appreciate this app. It does what I wanted and has the flexibility for different schedules on weekends. I can tell it what time to start and stop so it never chimes too early and wakes me up. 😁 Only problem is that I can't seem to adjust the volume on the chime. It doesn't change with the phone volume. If I could turn the chime up and down - or change it to a quieter sound when needed - it would be five stars for me.
Having bought a smart band, I missed the hourly chime of my old Casio. This app, combined with a downloaded Casio tone, replicates that. It is simple, yet highly configurable, battery efficient and works perfectly for me. I suggest some of the lower ratings are related to battery settings on users' phones rather than the app itself. Well worth the subscription.
Almost perfect, but close enough to warrant five stars. I'm about to upgrade to the PRO version even though it probably isn't gonna' have the one feature that's missing ... which is the ability to specify the duration of the notification sound. PROS : Chimes at the correct time even when phone has not been used for a while; doesn't alter my default notification tone volume level; free of charge; no obnoxious ads. CONS : Just the one I already mentioned, can't specify duration of notification.
I went through all the settings and pop up instructions, but there is no setting to enable repeating notification.... This is a joke? Edit: Ok, so we can edit the recurrence, how often the app push a notification. But the settings layout / labels / instructions are terrible, absolutely unintuitive and clunky, compared to Every other similar apps. This has to be the main reason of peoples confusion, as I've seen in the comments.
Does perfectly what it promises. My only complain is that, in order to save my configured chime, I have to create a copy or otherwise it won't be created at all. This wouldn't be much of a bother if it weren't for the "(copy)" added to the title, which makes it look messy. I fixed this by editing the backup xml, so all good!
Exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that would give a single beep every hour, but for only the hours that I am at work. And I also wanted an alarm that would only give a quick sound/alert so I could remember when to take my breaks and lunch, but that wouldn't keep going or that I would have to manually shut off if I was in the middle of a call or something. This is perfect, and the subscription price is a great deal, I signed up for the year! I'm glad I found this app.
2020: Day 1, I like this app. Very clean and easy to understand. I only wish the pro version was a one time purchase vs another subscription. The bright side is the free version is still usefull and gives an idea what can be done. Edit 2021: I am subbing you for a while to support your work. Thanks again for a great app!
The charms only go off sporadically so it's not something you can actually rely on. I've had it set for various intervals and would guess less than half of them actually rang. As well, the user interface isn't great
Superb! I was using another app on Samsung S6 but spent many hours trying to get it to work on Huwei Mate P20 Pro (Android 9 Pie) without success. It would only work intermitently and the Android doze fuction always seemed to eventually kill the app. The user interface on Hourly Chime is excellent with hints that I was already aware of but useful for anyone new to a mobile with Android 9 Pie. I'm using with a Gong to sound on the hour and couldnt be happier :) Thank You.
Works perfectly well and is easy to set up. However it does not seem to be precise. Even though I have set it to chime on the hour, it often chimes two or three minutes after. Strange, but not a major problem.
Seems good, but lacks a key facility for me - the ability to set intervals for MORE than an hour. I'd like to have a chime every TWO hours. I'd pay for that but it doesn't look like the pro version does it either.
Doesn't work (and yes, i set the battery optimisation settings as required). Displays alert message but does not chime--or if it does, it's so quiet it makes no difference.
Don't understand why an alarm clock / hourly chime app needs permission to all my files, pictures, etc. Kind of similar to the flashlight app that want access to everything but only turns a light on. No thank you. Removed app.
This app does exactly what I wanted. I went for the subscription for the added flexibility. If you want quarter, half, three quarters and or hourly chimes this one is for you! 🖖
Working without any problems so far
Super easy and convenient display and usability. I uninstalled it bc I need counted chimes like a grandfather clock not just another stressful phone alert going off.
Flexible, reliable, flawless Already use the excellent Caynax alarm app & this is of the same high standard - versatile & very flexible to a variety of requirements. As recommended excluded app from battery optimisation & therefore reliably carries on working as set up. Recommended.
Please stop changing my volume to max. I turn it down for a reason and every time I try a different sound you turn it back up again. Stop doing that.
Best hourly chime app. I've tried several chime apps and this one is the most configurable. Please add a notification message that must be clicked to clear.
Subscribed. I want this app to work. It chimes 24 minutes after the hour, though, on my LG V20 TITAN. I just tried enabling an option that might fix it. Plz cross your fingers. Also, the option to have it chime a number of times according to what hour it is(i.e. thrice at 3pm), like on my family's clockwork grandfather clock, isnt working 100% of the time. It's nice, though, that I can also set it to chime ONCE at half past each hour, like an old clockwork grandfather clock!!.
Too complex to understand.
Needs option to select sound specific to this app. Irritating that it uses the same as other notifications so never sure if it is the hour or an incoming message.
So far no sound. Not much use. Is there a solution. Checked all settings. Update: Thnx for heads up on poss blocks on Samsung. Getting chimes now. I chose yr app cos you seemed to care about customers. That's now my experience. Many thnx
Good app. Heads up for those looking at the free version. You can only get text to speech on the premium version.
The sound volume (sound level) of the chime cannot be changed, it is always at the loudest, startling everybody in the house, especially me!! Is there nothing that can be done about this??
04May. Downgraded to previous version of 11 & it is now working. Thank you! // 02May. Email sent 2 days ago // 30Apr. Locking didn't work - as I suspected - with either On or Off Battery Optimization. // With v11.0.1, app doesn't chime anymore - v11, app was still functioning. Did all these: Battery Optimization & Saver are already Off; Show Ongoing Notification Enabled (or Disabled) doesn't help; Set Chime as Alarm Clock is enabled; Cache Cleared, Reseted. Please help. Thanks.
