Howlr

The latest update has broken the app on my phone. Some features load in okay, but text runs off the screen. I use Howlr with a lot of filters on, which were reset because of the update, and now I cannot see which are turned on or off because the checkboxes are clipped off the screen. I don't use the messaging system much, but now I can't because it also clips off the screen! It's now unusable. For reference I have a Motorola One Hyper with a 19:9 ratio screen.

This update is worlds better than the last. UI feels clean and easy to use. Lots of groups to join. Messages seem mostly reliable now. Decent filtering options for profiles, but needs the option to set exclusions too so people can't circumvent it by selecting every tag. Pictures still require being cropped to 9:16, which can cause some viewing issues. Overall though, happy with the update and the state of the app is pretty solid. Looking forward to using it more frequently now.

Great app for meeting other furs and possibly creating a bond with them with large improvements compared to when I was here last. The UI has drastically been overhauled with a beautiful layout. Well done, I'm impressed. Keep improving. The only problem I have is that the keyboard covers the text box so that's a major change needed.

I really love the idea of this app and it's usually been pretty cohesive, in my experience, but sadly the upkeep of the app just doesn't seem to be there. Came back after a break and profiles & conversations aren't loading at all. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and now my Telegram won't connect with Howlr at all; it's just pinwheeling. Again, great idea, just poor execution thus far.

I see a lot of bad reviews, I've had Howlr for over several years, it's truly a great app to meet up with others, it has room for improvements. Though overall I have no issues with it, runs vary smoothly for me, I have a Samsung Galaxy S10+. I only ever really had one problem, which is the messenger on there, it's laggy. Also others, and I that have had the app more than 3 years, is that on one of the past updates removed people you've liked over so many years ago.

Every update seems to remove functionality. You can't screenshot messages anymore (who would want to document harassment?) You can no longer filter profiles by if they have IRL or Fursuit photos. Since the last update, I can't click on the external links in people's profiles (ie twitter links). It's great that this app has lasted this long but it's changed a lot over that time and I wish it retained some features and functionality

I used to think it was abandoned, but it turns out development is just unbearably slow. The app got less useable with the last update. They finally changed the design to something easier on the eyes after a year or two. They've now fixed the screen stretching issue.

I previously lowered my rating to two stars due to the new design, which removed features and made the whole app much uglier all around. Now I have to lower it further after trying to log onto the app using my new phone - the process requires you to enter a code from the Telegram messenger bot. Unfortunately, after entering the code I only get "unexpected errors". :x Another update: as of mid-October 2021, the app is permanently stuck on the loading splash screen.

Awful UI. Things clip off the page unless you use the app in landscape mode (who does that?). Also, I get notifications that people want to chat, when I click on them it doesn't do anything but put me in the app. I have to manually look up their username, hot chat, then accept the invite - rather than the notification taking me straight there. Also, when clicking the notification for chat messages, new messages do not appear unless I write and send a message. Awful.

Useful for finding furs, useless to actually use. The app is great for showing you who's around, and showing you who's liked you for free but it's impossible to send messages and images. The message interface sits just below the keyboard so you can't see what your typing you can only see the "send" button. If your going to use this app I highly recommend you put your telegram/discord in your bio and redirect traffick to other websites bc talking is impossible on here.

Latest version of the app doesn't even fit within my phone's width. The entire UI just doesn't fit. For example in settings, name of setting on the left and selected option on the right, I can only see a couple letters of each side. Completely unusable in it's current state.

Currently struggling with the app. I accidentally deleted it and reinstalled it, but it wants me to start from scratch when I already have an account. Even starting from scratch is proving to be difficult because it keeps saying the code the Telegram bot gave me has expired. I really would like to not have to start all over again!

I'm tired of using it. For the past THREE phones, the scaling for the application has been broken, it tried to show as if it's on a tablet, not on a phone. On the 5th I finally had enough and messaged the telegram help service and twitter. Telegram account has been inactive for around a month and the twitter one has been inactive for a solid few years. It was a good app, til someone stopped caring about what it's doing, and honestly, it's not worth it anyways. Unless you're DTF rn, youre ignored

The app is difficult to use. Removing likes and groups is pretty much impossible and when writing to someone it is barely possible to view the text field at all unless one changes the modal in the settings. Manually having to update when something new happens is slightly annoying as well.

Desperately in need of a way to exclude certain things from search because people abuse the system and select every single tag so you're wasting your time by seeing profiles that include things you would like to avoid. It's easier to select the tags you dislike so you can block every profile that comes up in a hundred-mile radius around you and then search for the specific tags you do want so they don't come up. Now unable to add more pics to the gallery. Uploading just doesn't work.

I had been tempted to join the app as I heard some good things. Sure enough signed up and got my profile sorted before bed. Woke up and stuck with a loading screen thats frozen. Uninstalled and reinstalled, uninstalled, force stopped and cleared cache data, turned my phone on and off, switched to mobile data, checked connections etc. Still stuck....was a great 2 hours whilst it lasted.

As of yesterday the app stopped loading into the mainscreen. I've resetted the whole thing and now I cannot login anymore without getting an "unexpected error". As the app has no support button whatsoever I'm effectively locked out of my account. PS: They've fixed the issues after roughly 2 days.

Great for finding local furries but recently I have been having trouble with the app where it has been being stuck on the loading section and had not been functioning. I can't even use the app now to message my friends like it's really frustrating. Can someone please fix the app to where it's not doing this cuz I'm not the only one having the same problem

Was a member for 1 year, no issues. Had someone blatantly stealing other people's artwork directly from the app, reported him, sent screenshots of person LITERALLY admitting to the thefts. Within 2 hours I was immediately banned from the app, without reason. I have not returned. It's clear the Howlr staff have something seriously wrong going on, as people have consistently dissapeared in the past. Would love to return, but I guess I can't.

Has potential, but isn't using it I feel like this app would be good if it was changed alot. To Begin with, this app is extremely slow chats constantly break, I personally hate the logo could use a better design, the whole set up is kinda ugly, finding people to match with should be easier. The way to find other people Is extremely difficult in my own opinion and should be changed.

Found a bug in the newest update: when browsing groups, once you get to the T's it skips straight to the bottom of the list. From there, if you try to scroll, it freaks out and bounces all over the place before dumping you toward the top of the list.

Was updated late last year from a working version into a new broken one to change the UI? and the developers have disappeared on hiatus with no real way to contact them that I can find. I really loved this app, it was my recommendation to so many furries for them to find people near them. I'm sad to see it die.

I got permanently banned with 0 explanation or warning. There is no support page or any way to contact the developer through website, the app, telegram, patreon or any other site linked to them that I could find. The only way to contact the developers to see if I can get this resolved is to leave a bad review on their appstore and hope they see it and contact me.

Overall the app is ok, the biggest issue I have is with its filter search. While it does allow me to search for things I like it doesn't have a way to filter out keywords. So people can just set every gender on their profile and make filtering useless.

I loved this app but i literally just found out you guys shut it down... Why??. And why couldn't you send an in app message well in advance??? I had no clue it was going to shut down!! Now i lost contact with several friends and i cant even look at their profiles to add their other socials bc the app wont even load up..

It's a good app for what it does, i've met some cool new people on it but you guys really need to adress the push notification problem. I'm on a Samsung J3 Prime and I do not get any kind of notification from chats, I have to direct people to message me directly through other means. It really kneecaps the potential of the app.

I been using Howlr for a year and it's gotten progressively worse. I'm a software engineer and unsure if the developers have any QA testers but with the later iteration, the app has become unbareable. Likes do not propegate when initiated, messages drop, and profiles fail to load.

I really like it and it's been decent so far, but as of today the app will not load up whatsoever. I tried disconnecting from my wifi, reconnecting to my wifi after trying to load it on mobile data, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and nothing. please fix this

I link the telegram, and when it logs me in, I get a completely frozen app. restarted it several times and tried my best. the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one, is that it worked up until that point, and it uses telegram to login, which is a nice convenience thing, but also terrible for privacy

Dont know why people are upset with the app. It's okay, not the best around but it gives a way for people looking to chat or connect a large area to choose from. Would have given it a higher score but there isnt a "last seen" spot for profiles
