App does everything you need. Booking tickets, ordering food, checking in. I especially like that you can choose your seats. Plus it works very fast and smooth and doesn't force you to click through heaps of advertising rubbish that you don't want (like the KFC app, for instance). Overall I couldn't offer any improvements.
My family wants to watch a film, but the website lists all films - even those not showing on the selected day. So I tried the app. Weak! It can filter by lots of things I don't care about, but not rating. It can sort by a few things, but not session time! As a software developer myself I'm dumbfounded at these shortcomings.
First experience. Nice concept. Can be very good if it didn't lag heaps. Issues booking tickets had to try twice. They need to make it more clearer what you're paying for with all these different tickets. It doesn't make any sense to me all these different tickets and points.
It would get 5 stars but I've taken one star away only because some of the wording and pictures in the app are cut out because it doesn't fit. Apart from this small issue the app is really good, user-interface is friendly. If there are things that you don't understand you can always ask one of the friendly staff members at your local Hoyts Cinema Complex as I did...
Quick and easy Everything works quick and efficient. The only issue I have is that the 5 minute timer feels a little too short when trying to decide on seating and snacks.
Trying to book tickets through the app but it doesn't work. Tried doing what was suggested re VPN and other suggestions, still didn't work. We were able to select the seats for the movie and venue but the payment was declined. We tried using an Android and Apple phone, same result. We also tried via the website on the laptop, same result.
Not working now. Half of pictures dont load properly. Seating choice does not load at all. Just a 5min timer and blank screen so can't book tickets at all. The app used to just be a link to the website, which is horrible to use on a phone. Then the app was changed to became an app and worked really nicely. But now not working good. So i have to use the computer or the horrible phone internet website interface. Samsung j5 using Firefox latest.
Whilst there's room for improvement, this app is far more user friendly than it was a few years ago. Definitely easy to use, though could possibly do with more explanation of what keys such as the 'AD' audio descriptive and 'CC' closed caption sessions entail.
issues with PayPal payment option in the previous version, have preordered end games movie last month using vouchers and the access fees via PayPal, PayPal processed the payment while this app did not process and advised transactions did not complete, so I did not get my PayPal money back only after 2 weeks, the app addvised to call support with reference number, which only way to contact them via email and they responsesld after few days, never had issues previously with the very old version
Even though I have super speed internet, this app is so slow. After about a minute, it may activate. If only they had a update. The old version was very good, but not now. Also payments through this app also do not work. Useless.
The app needs exception handling. our payment didn't work (Not our fault. It worked fine next try) and instead of letting us try again it just restarted the process completely. We had ro relselext everythibg and then we couldn't select the same seats as they were "unavailable" AND THEN we couldn't select another 4 in the same row because it left an empty seat. Ended up using safari to purchase
Honestly, for what it is, it's one of the best apps for booking a cinema sesh. Very little issues with it (except for the $3 booking fee), constantly updated and does exactly what it needs to do!
love the ease and convenience of the app, never have to wait in line anymore. App offers are really great too!!! don't mind the booking fee per ticket for the stress-free peace of mind of having our tickets in the palm of my hand. haven't had any technical issues with it at all either
Easy to use. But hard to change time if you want for same day. You need to cancel booking to change time. You should consider that and give viewers an option on the app to change time but keep same date if that's what they want to do. Why should they have to cancel and rebook???
Very intermittent functionality. One day I can get in the next I can't, when I can I struggle to navigate around sometimes, very slow or unresponsive... maybe I'll go to Event Cinemas from now on. 🤨
I had never used the app before and thought I'd give it a try. Purchased my tickets with ease, no problem at all.... then, the day of the movie, the app crashes and I have no way of accessing my tickets. Thanks a lot. What a piece of rubbish.
DON'T DOWNLOAD - wanted to order food through the app before arriving. Tried two cards hiwever it was saying there was an error even though both cards had sufficient funds. Gave up and just ordered food when I got there. Next day however, I noticed i was getting charged $1 each time i tried yo pay witht the cards through the app. Pissed off it's this hard to order for via the app, even Village appnis more user friendly than this rubbish. Will be calling tomorrow to get the funds refunded back.
After using for years ago it was buggy at the best of times. Decided to u start using it again instead of website. App is getting better would really like Google pay pass integration for movie tickets.
Really easy app to use. Lots of options for ticket types, food combos, and payment types. I recommend taking a screenshot of the ticket so it's easier to bring up later.
So far so good! It very good to find OC through filter options in the app to find Open Captions movies and my family enjoyed the experience each time. The app is very convenient and less stress process for myself as a deaf person . Thank you! Enjoyable experiences. Highly recommend :)
It's good for booking your tickets but the voucher scanner is useless as it doesn't work. It only allows you to use one barcode scanner app as no other option is available so it forces you to download the Barcode Scanner app.
It's an awesome app. Easy to use. Pay for your tickets and food online before you go to the cinemas. And when you arrive click on the make my order now button. Go to the pick up counter and it ready. No need to wait in line anymore.
Easy to use, great deals and really good seats. The updates have improved the whole experience when purchasing tickets.
Easy to Use - only issue I have is going back inside the app to previous screen sometimes its a bit buggy aside from that great app and I love the new addition of pre-purchasing food and drink and havibg it ready when you arrive. Just brilliant!
App can sometimes freeze on order payment, but most times won't take your money (unless they email you the ticket). Needs a few quality of life changes, but overall does the job for a free app. Download for convenience when attending Hoyts Cinemas
App is broken on the seat selection screen, can't scroll around the cinema to pick seats, and it's zoomed into the first 5 rows. No doubt it's a great app but it's wasted my time.
What an awful app. It's not easy to navigate, doesn't work well, and is difficult to finalise payment. Our food order wasn't logged, so we couldn't request that it be fulfilled via the app as instructed, then when we arrived the staff couldn't find the order either. Once we'd sorted out the snacks, the staff couldn't scan the barcode on two different devices. This made everything more difficult, not easier. Staff confirmed that the app has been problematic and were very helpful.
