Love it! Simple and easy to use. Would be happy to pay extra if there were a version with information linked in about what common house plants like (e.g. how much light in LUX is the "low light" necessary to keep an Elkhorn happy?). But given this app is available for FREE without ads, it's worth FIVE STARS from me.
Works very good. I would give five start if the text on snapshot (HPJ light meter by Darryl ... ) wouldn't be so congested.
Free, no ads, simple to use and gives a rough idea of light levels. Perfect for my plant related purposes.
Being a proper light meter the best and most reliable way to measure light intensity reaching my plants, this app provides a fast, reliable, qualitative and good way to measure light.
ok works to measure light. but how do i interpret the results? would be much more useful with a scale/legend for "ideal light levels" for certain plants
Front camera only, I need to be able to use back camera to direct it to the light source, not to do a selfie with it. Please update option for 5 stars. Tnx.
Clever design allows capturing the scene and associated value, and is straightforward to use.
Does not work - says 0 light every time, even standing outside in the beating sun. Useless.
Good tool for plants, but how do I change it from selfie camera to using the camera on the back on my phone?
Only gave a 0 reading on my Samsung, even after restart. Too bad.
thank's, it's so usefull easy & free,, ๐๐๐
this is great! very handy!
This app insists you agree to share data, no way
very cool tool thanks
App is not what I wanted...
Nice simple app! Super straightforward to use and it's nice being able to take photos of plant placement/light source for future reference. Only problem is closing the app doesn't work with multiple "backs" you have to manually close it.
I just moved into a new place and am loving this app to help me find the best spots for each plant.
wonderful and easy to use app. If you dont already have his book I highly suggest checking it out!
Overall, i really like it. The front-facing camera is perfect for the #whatmyplantsees approach. Someone said a rear-facing camera would be better but, then, how would you know what your plant sees. I don't think that person bought this for use with houseplants. Get another app if you want to measure lux for photography, video, etc., but, if you've read Darryl's book "New Plant Parent...", then you will understand & be grateful for the forward-facing camera. I will post an update, if needed.
