HQ - Trivia & Words

I enjoy all the hosts, they all do a great job for what they have to work with. The concept for this trivia app is great, and in the early times for HQ Trivia, the app's performance was fine, with only minimal glitches and lagging. But now, the app is basically unplayable. It's been nothing but terrible lag, glitching, frozen screens for every game I've tried to play lately. I'm not sure what the developers are doing/thinking, but they really need to address the performance issues.

This game is fun except it glitches all the time, of course right when your about to win. I have made it to the final answer or close 10 or 15 times and it always eliminates me for not making a choice, when in reality I press and press on the button to no success and get eliminated. I cant tell you how frustrating it is! And. To top it off, my free lives that I work hard for keep disappearing, even more frustrating! I'm starting to think this is a scam. Fix these glitches and would rate higher.

Love the hosts and the game in general. Im finding with the reboot, the game is even glitchier than before. Almost always the host freezes in between questions, and sometimes the questions won't show. There is no escalation of questions anymore. For instance, question 1 can be just as difficult as question 12, which takes some fun out of the game. One of the nice perks is one can win prizes regardless of being out of the main game.

Started off really well, but constant lagging caused several questions to be missed because I was unable to see the answers. Now there are a ridiculous amount of notifications as well. I sometimes will receive up to 6 notifications about the game starting. Even if I'm already playing it! Also, leveling up is next to impossible if you are unable to play on nights with multipliers on points. Was a lot of fun, now just kind of annoying.

This game should have a much higher rating. Fun to play, good variety of topics, gives away money. But the connection issues are RIDICULOUS. I've redownload multiple times trying to give this another chance, during the game cutting back and forth from the live video to the questions disrupts the video, even when I'm playing with a strong connection. Theres no point in keeping the app when you cant make it through a game without it freezing at some point.

Oh man, where do I even begin? I downloaded this on the recommendation of family. However, I quickly found that it was a giant waste of my time. While constantly peddling expensive microtransactions, the show usually only manages to give winners a few dollars. I just played in the season 3 finale with a $100,000 prize. The winners got about $28. This was AFTER they had to restart the game an hour late due to an error. I experienced many issues/bugs in my short time playing. Don't waste your time

Could be fun, but very buggy. I am on a new samsung, perfectly fine service in my area, and I have no issues with other games or streaming services. But this game continually buffers during photo, vid/audio clips prior to questions, making it impossible to answer. Plus if you do get to the "money" rarely more than a few dollars, sometimes just cents. Don't bother.

First off I'd love to say the concept and idea or the game is amazing. That being said, I never get my free lives. I've emailed you all three times about it and nothing back. Which is frustrating when you really like the game and specifically make sure to play to get those. Now, I keep getting kicked out and have to click back in to watch or just get thrown out of the game altogether and automatically lose. I came here to see if there was an update I was missing. I wasn't missing any. Like I said concept and idea of the game are great but so many bugs make me not want to try anymore. I'm writing this to hopefully bring it to your attention since my emails did nothing. I really hope you fix the glitches so the game can be fun again. Thanks for your time.

The last few months all I see is the loading sign and then suddenly a question. Sometimes it doesn't load in time and I miss the question and get kicked out the game. I'm on wifi and have no issues with anything else. Also when I use my extra life it has trouble loading the graphics which causes me to miss the next question and get kicked out. Couldn't even play in the finale because of loading issues. Now the app won't update on my phone to "fix the bugs".

This app was a lot of fun. But it's on a long downhill slide. It now won't even let me play/answer at all since i upgraded to Android 10. When it used to work it was buggy. The featureset does not match the IOS app. The rules and prizes change too rapidly to keep up with. They cannot seem to settle on a stable format for the game. I love trivia games and there was a time when i loved HQ. But until they fix the technical and organizational issues with their game, they get one star.

Horrible app for Android. My wife has an iPhone, and it seems the app is much more stable there. On my S7 Android the video freezes a lot, or it drops out completely (including sound) but somehow the questions still show up. It's impossible when it's the type of question where the host has a detail or a small video clip plays first with something like 'who's the actor in this scene' and you can't see it. Also, for some reason, the Android shows the countdown timer for the first question, but iPhone doesn't, so I guess we get one perk. I saw on hers she also has a Daily Challenge game that scores points. I guess she'll level up before me this season. Please fix the current 1.39 version.

The games seem fun and the questions are definitely challenging, but I have not played one time and not experienced glitches and lagging. it's frustrating when there are picture or video questions and the pics and vids never load and you just have to guess blindly. This happens constantly and I've played for months. I think I'll go back to just playing trivial pursuit.

The technical issues with this game have made it unplayable. I've been playing for months and though I never won I still enjoyed playing and watching until the end but now it's impossible. The video is always freezing and most of the time I'm watching a purple loading screen. The sound is also choppy so you can't hear questions being read. A few times it hasn't even registered that I've tapped an answer and I get eliminated, but then it won't register that I don't want to use a life so I end up losing lives on a game I can't play anymore.

I've been playing for about 6 months and HAD been really enjoying it, however more recently the glitches are making it to frustrating to bother playing, such as: loss of audio, questions not appearing, answering a question correctly then getting an error saying my answer couldn't be registered, the app hanging then when it starts working again you're 3 questions later and an extra life has been automatically used, the list goes on! Apart from all that when it does work it's good fun just these days are few and far between now.

A year ago, this game was amazing! Great prizes, and seamless feed. Lately, with far fewer players, the feed routinely hangs, making for a frustrating experience. Too bad, it used to be a lot of fun, but now is simply a blue screen and spinning circle. A lot of waiting to win three cents. Update: Now in 2020, the game is still as laggy and on tonight 1/3 of the questions were about ticktock. Disappointment.

Fun game when it actually works right. It's very glitchy and all of a sudden its not notifying us when a game goes live until after the fact. when it does notify you it is too late to play. Very frustrating. I don't want to set an alarm for every different game. When we can play it glitches horribly. Sometimes you can't click an answer or it cuts out during the question. I hope it gets an update soon.

it's impossible to turn off notifications. even when you turn off notifications, you still get them several times every day. I used to get more than ten notifications daily, after turning if all notifications, I still received 2-3 notifications a day. Annoying. and the hosts are a little too much. If it was simply a trivia game without all the notifications, and without the ridiculous hosts, this would be a fun game to play.

The idea of this is fantastic. Unfortunately, you're lucky to actually even be ABLE to play. Half the time it won't even load properly. I just tried to play a game and in the six minutes I had it open, I had to close and re-open it FIVE times because it kept freezing. I eventually got booted from the game because I didn't answer a question, which never even came up on my screen. Thank God the chat loads though. 🙄 Fix your servers!!!

I love trivia games. I'm a sucker for them. HQ just doesn't do it for me. It's fun to win a few cents to a dollar every now and then, but usually the app doesn't load video. I have reinstalled the app and it continues to not play the video or audio accompanying the questions. Sometimes there are questions relating to images or video clips which never play. App needs some serious work. The hosts are great, but the technical portion of the app is terrible.

This app had such potential, but it glitches more than any app/program I've ever seen! It frequently lags and freezes during live games when you only have a few seconds to answer. So you'll need knowledge combined with luck (that the app works properly for once) to ever win. And in the rare chance that ever happens, you'll walk away with 10 cents. Honestly, it's really only worth it when Matt hosts, because then at least you'll be entertained and laugh.

This application has turned to garbage. Anytime that I log in to play there are too many glitches or lag in the system. Recently the new issue has been the elimination. If I were be eliminated on a question the app begins to not show points at the end of each question and I and still able to answer questions like I'm still playing. I have become very disappointed in the amount of issue that this application has.

I've waited to give my review until I've used the app enough. I feel I can give an informed review now. The app constantly crashes, freezes, or has hang ups. So much so that you can be either kicked out of a game or not get the chance to answer the question. It is for sure a pay to win trivia game. With the microtransactions they constantly push at you. I don't know if i can continue to have this installed on my phone anymore.

They disconnect in the middle of the game frequently, which makes it extremely frustrating, especially if you're doing well! To get a sad face telling you "something happened," and you're kicked off, frequently stealing a an extra life in the process, is really annoying, and it happens way to much... And NO CUSTOMER SERVICE for redress. Only bright spot is MATT...

There have been SO many glitches over the months. I just updated before the words game tonight after the trivia game and when I got in game the keyboard glitched so that the sound of keys being hit was made and nothing showed on the screen. "Bug fixes" yeah sure. That's been an issue for months. Also, after the last 'season' my avatar was changed to some default that I can't change away from.

since removing the UK version this game has gone downhill for me. Ever since the UK version was either removed or I'm just not recieving it. I have had constant bug problems. The feed glitches for 2 minutes at a time. The games don't start until 2:00am. It's just no longer enjoyable. Will remove from my phone if I see no improvement soon.

have only been able to play twice. the faster the chat moves the more the game lags. I get disqualified every time. I can see the first question and then after that it takes so long to buffer and has so much lag that it just disqualifies me because I don't even see the second or third question come up. it was really fun the two times I actually was able to play but not worth taking up the memory space on my phone . Need to get rid of the chat feature. too many people interacting slows it down.

Great hosts! But the app itself is buggy and freezes on my phone with remarkable reliability. There are frequent technical glitches that require live games to stop and restart. I also have unredeemed winnings left from before the abrupt shutdown and while I can see it, the app prevents me from claiming it, which isn't fair at all. Step up your technical game, HQ.

Apart from glitches and lags in the live video, it is a poorly designed system for navigating through the questions. If there is a video or image component to the question and the live feed lags or doesn't load, you don't get the image needed for answering. Also, having to opt out of using an extra life is problematic. Unless you're good at trivia, don't bother.
