App is better than it used to be but, Malta's online and mobile banking is severely lacking, you can make bill payments from the app and the IBAN number system just makes it complicated, you can't view statements ,you have to log to the main web to add all your accounts so that they are visible on the app. You can't view your statements, block or unblock cards , view your pin ect.. this just some feedback to improve the system.

Useless app. Your account balance is not updating, sometimes it takes 5 days for the app to show your actual balance. Cannot really see any purpose of using the app, unless it's for transferring money to Revolut where you can manage your finances easier and better. HSBC definitely needs an upgrade in order to keep up with their competitors.

Online payment system is too complicated for a phone app; log in with biometrics doesn't always work - had to reinstall the app many times; on the account overview page the font is too large so you have to scroll if you have multiple accounts; it takes too long for card payments to go through and the total balance is not updated immediately - the only way to see the actual balance is through a slide down function in the account, it's annoying.

This app, whilst convenient to check balances, still lacks a lot of functionality expected with an app in 2019. No fingerprint unlock, transfers still require full bank account details, zero "extras" like split-bill etc. A very small step in the right direction. HSBC needs to step up the features for this to be any real use in today's world.

A total failure and an excuse of an app. Thanks to the new "authentication" process I can't even top up revoult cards or other platforms that require top ups as the app keeps crashing!! I suggest you fire whoever came out with this app as cleary they are better off doing something else. So dissappointed with your service.

I used to love this app but the internal transfer feature stopped working. I reinstalled the app and it still doesn't work. It's probably an update issue from the bank's side, or a bug. Hope they fix it soon!

I had to download 3 times since it will never start booting after I logged out. Of course I uninstalled the old one, so now for a simple balance check I have to go to the main website. This simple feature should be tested before the app is launched. Makes it so cheap and ... Finally I managed to download the old version and I hope HSBC will keep it since it is working ok.

The app improved over time, but honestly, you have to do way better if you want to keep up with Revolut and other guys. I care about available balance. I want virtual and disposable cards. I want meaningful analytics.

Very limited. You can only check the balance (takes days to update) and make bank transfers for contacts previously added outside the app. Years and years behind most of the others bank apps.

the app has a basic functionality of executing transactions to different accounts. But it could have so much more potential by replacing your personal physical key pad. Not to mention contactless payment options and google/apple pay integration

I could probably develop a better app, everything is bad about this. first I had the a problem even trying to get to the apps home screen as it thought my phone was rooted just because I had magisk manager installed (worked after uninstalled the app) and just the overall user experience is buggy as hell and a pain in the a$$ to use. worst app ever took me 2 weeks to realize why it thought my phone was rooted

The app is not good as you cannot send internal messages or make transfers between other HSBC customers..Basically you can just check your balance and transaction history and transfer money to your own accounts that you see in the app, so overall useless app.

What's the point of having to approve payments through the app rather than the old text method...you need to close whichever app you are paying through, open the HSBC app, then close the HSBC app and reopen the other app. Half the time the payment page refreshes when you reopen the first app and you're screwed. Really poorly thought out.

The previous version wouldn't allow you to message the bank unless you logged in using the dongle. However you were allowed to READ messages /alerts from the company. Now with this "upgrade " you can't even READ (much less, WRITE) ANYTHING!!! :/

I'm not sorry to say this but rather disappointed. Simply, I wouldn't call this a banking app because that's not what it does. Seeing your balance and paying people which you need to first register their information through desktop login page is not called banking. I opened an account with you today but I'm not sure if it was the best decision of my day.

Like others who have commented before me, the latest update has broken the biometric login. Fingerprint login was available before this update, but not any more. Rather disappointed to have to use the PIN each time.

Although an update is required, the button for this function is not available. How did you overcome the problem? Uninstalled and then install the new app? - Sorted! After submitting the comment, the update button became available.

The app should start directly on one's choice not choose when opening. If it's biometrics, one doesn't have to take the extra step to log in.

Very cool app. Helps up savings management. Maybe if theu could add an NFC pay ot would be most perfect. Something similar to BOV Pay.
