You can't make ANY transfers other than for listed receivers. It's completely useless if you want to make a transfer to another account, not listed. Other than that the sign in is quite straight forward. I can't make transfers from my account. An error message pops up with each attempt.. What's the purpose of an app which can't be used?

The app is better than where it began. Some concerns. 1) Still not able to exit the app by pressing back key. 2) Phone screens have gotten bigger, so it's better to put the login options in the bottom part of the screen.

It seems there is a problem with the app. As soon as I open the app, it crashes. I restarted my phone twice and installed the app again, but this did not solve the problem. Anyone facing the same problem?

App shows the balance with 3 days delay. In order to change the password, it is mandatory to call the customer service 800-4525 and hold on the line AT LEAST 45mn. What's the point of Online Banking if I need to call (and hold)? No one can assist in-person at the branches when it comes to the app/online banking and they just redirect to the same 800-4525. Not user friendly to pay Bills / transfer money to another person. Useless delayed App and horrible Customer Service.

Downgraded from 2 stars to one when I realised i can't transfer funds between accounts in different countries, it tells you to use the website, and I can't add a new payee. This app is a huge disappointment; they have removed most of the functionality of the old app, and what little information the new app provides is now spread needlessly across more than one screen. Very frustrating and annoying. If I had a choice I'd stick with the old app.

Visually, it is a great improvement from the old one. But functionality, it is missing more features. It only reflects my Current and Credit Card accounts. My car loan is not displayed and there are no options to include it. Credit Card functions like Cash Installment Plan is also not included. There are a lot for HSBC to improve on.

Very bad app and customer service. They are so many predefined settings that we are not aware of until losing money. Only CS knows that, and sending money to new account is not at all user-friendly. CS always tries to skip our questions, and additionally chat is the worst service.

Limited functionality. It looks pretty and gives a nice Global view of HSBC holdings, but, when it comes to transfers outside one's own accounts, it is quite useless. I have mobile banking apps from other banks which allow for many more transactional services and are clearly designed to bring convenience to the customer. Sadly, the HSBC app has a long way to come up the curve.

If you are not hsbc customer, don't even try to be, everything is bad, the app is useless, you will be so lucky if you can reach the customer service, even if you was able to connect with them you will not be able to hear them most of the time, even if you have someone from the bank to chat with on WhatsApp he will not answer, the worst experience I ever had, you should consider open another bank account just to save your time

For such a big name bank, I was truly surprised to see how basic the app is. Very limited functionality. Nothing exciting about it. Could learn a few things from the Sourh African banking sector for sure.

The current version of the app (as of Sep 2021) doesn't have a way to add beneficiaries for payments. You can only add from Internet Banking (browser based), and once you do that, you still don't see these beneficiaries in the app! You have to use Internet Banking to send them money. So, basically, you can only use the app to check your balance.

I had great expectations with HSBC app but the transactions made are not updated on real time basis. Also the final balance that appears is not the actual one that exists in the account currently. This leads to miscalculations and decline of payments at unexpected moments. I hope the bank takes this matter seriously and see that the updates in the app are synced as per the real time scenario. Also bank app does not have option to make international transfers in the app. Hope that too resolves.

Check other banks apps and learn from them ...!!! Update, app keeps crashing and throwing me out. Suggest you guys save money, cancel your app development and remove it from the app store...!!! Very limited features. Previous App was way better. Can't add or manage transfer payee list. Can't access other accounts which are not linked to my main account. The point of having an app is do things on the go which is not the case here.

App is so slow. Complicated steps just to transfer money. Not much options available compared to other Banking apps. No customer service option which is basic. Very very very late balance update on the app after transaction, so its difficult to see the exact balance available. Why make an app if we need to use the website to simply add a payee etc. Other banking apps have this option which is basic.

Worst online banking app I have ever used!! They boast that they are the world's largest bank network but its so pathetic that they are big zero with their banking app and browser version and in making use of the latest technologies. You can't create any local payees additions, you can't add your credit card to google pay, you can't subscribe for estatements online, you can't even send mails online and the list of what you can't do just goes on indefinitely!! Very pathetic!

it would be great if it had direct credit user friendly and efficient card payment rather than choosing it as an account number and specifying the amount you could have options like pay in full pay minimum amount pay only outstanding in one click. all in all good experience for managing you money especially on global accounts.
