This app, after the most recent update, now requires a login to your Hubitat Community account first, before you can use your android app in your network to access HE locally. So, that means two separate logins to reach your destination. Confusing and annoying, because the previous very useful app interface is gone. You can access that familiar and more useful interface from Hubitat’s webpage which makes the updated app useless, or at the very least cumbersome. I suspect that Hubitat might be migrating to a pay model for software features. Too bad, so sad! I expected more from Hubitat, after investing in its otherwise very innovative ecosystem.
Useless "What's New". No real updates in a long time, plus, the push to subscription model means it's time to move on. Every "Update" moves more functions behind a subscription pay wall. Nothing to see here. Version 1.6.7 added new Unexplained Advertising ID Permission!
Geofensing was working fine on Galaxy s9 until recent update 1/4/22. It was supposed to fix geofencing. I also use the Smarthings app and Geofencing works flawlessly. Wow these guys don’t even get back to you anymore. I emailed support a week ago and have not heard back.
Pretty good for managing my Hubitat, only minor gripes and wishes. I do lose notifications occasionally, not fixable by clear cache/data or relogin, it can only be fixed by reinstall.
The app requires creating account after the most recent update. Considering that I can access exactly the same interface from Hubitat's webpage, the app is totally useless now. Uninstalling.
Awesome app and service! I chose Hubitat after SmartThings discontinued service to my Nvidia Shield. Best switch ever! Everything runs local, so it works faster and still works when the internet is down. Highly recommend!
App is okay, but is a bit dated. Still in desperate need of a dark mode or follow system settings for dark mode. A few options for widgets would be good as well.
My pixel now says that I am present even when I'm not there. This appears to have happened in early January 2022 when many others have pointed out that geofencing stopped working with the release of a new version. This bug needs to get fixed ASAP, if the developers can't fix these within a few days then the whole Hubitat platform is no longer worth using or buying.
Requires registration for the cloud services. No thanks, not letting a cloud service control my locks. Re: Developer Comment (1) Then don't force registration for cloud services unless the user enables the presence feature. (2) There is no way to validate the claim that access is not granted without presence enabled. It's still a security risk that is not worth taking.
Works OK on Android. Needs a fair amount of work, dashboard customization in the Hubitat app or this is severely lacking - no sizing or auto rotation allowances. That said, glad there's finally an app. Now if I could just get Hubitat to have reliable motion sensing (timeouts) things would be great. I'd like to write a review on the iOS app but since it won't install on a mini, I cannot even comment on it on the apple store. It's a shame really because we use the only apple device in our home, a free mini I won as event schwag, as a dedicated HT/HA remote control.
Notifications doesn't work on my Fold 3. Cannot access devices from the devices tab. You have to log into the hub.
After the last update, the geofence stopped reporting the status unless going into the app manually. This makes it useless since now it doesn't work as a presence sensor.
geofencing stopped working after the last update. makes this app almost useless as it is the main purpose of the app is geofencing. please fix asap.
I really like the simplicity of the app. It offers a basic expiriance without all the bloat. Alltough I woud love to see a way to enter the full local web interface (only if we are in the home network of course). Maybe a out grayed tab for "on the go" with access if we are on the home network... a basic internal browser maybe... I don't know. Anyway, the geofence function and notifications are a wellcome feature to the allready powerfull Hubitat expireance.
After the most recent update, a login to an external account is required. Previously I could use the app in my network to access my HE locally. Bad move.
Just went through and +1 previous reviews about this version getting stuck on opening screen. Support is USELESS. Submitted an email about the app and the response was hubitat is online and connected to the cloud....really? What about support for the app. Just like smartthings...their rating will go in the toilet unless they turn things around. Looks like I'm on the hunt for another hub and app. Any recommendations? In process of transferring to Tplink/Kasa wifi IOT items. This app never worked
Device status is not updated reliably enough. Don't bother with tech support their number 1 reason for things not working properly is usually something on the end users hub not the hub itself. Hubitat itself is an underpowered cheap device that really shouldn't be considered if you want a reliable smart home. Do yourself a favor and spend more money on control4 or something in that price range.
Remote login from app does not work. Exchanged multiple emails with them, no resolution. I can access from a web browser, and that seems to have been sufficient for the developer. Months of not being able to use this app pretty much makes it useless.
Now had direct LAN discovery just like the local PC interface. No web account needed. I made just made a second dashboard for mobile use but I agree with other you should allow users to set a default dashboard via each connection. If you use LAN connection you have the same full control as from a PC. The devices list badly formats but it is available. Apparently the online version doe not allow that but that is probably for security concerns. When on your own LAN the device actuators ARE available. This allow local control unlike inferior software like Wink and SmartThings. I took off one star since it still needs improvements like a default dashboard, even when using local LAN and better formatting. It took a long time to get a weather tile working. They need to do a tutorial. I wasted over week on that alone. Most user coded devices take about an evening to find the code, setup and debug, eg. MyQ and even WeMo or a AVR. Not every device listed on their web site can be done without adding your own code, LAN devices, like those listed all require code you add yourself. The one exception is for bridges which have some included Integrations.
Used to use it frequently, but now they require an account to use it (no use or desire for cloud functionality). I ended up bookmarking my device IP and creating a shortcut on my home screen that ended up working better than the app anyway.
This app doesn't work remotely unless you buy a subscription. Did not realize that until after everything was setup. They mention that you have local automations and remote control through the app, but they left out the part about having to pay for it.
On the Technology road again after years of wink, and the buggy slow road to home frustration, I found Hubitat Elevation. My lights work instantly now. Really like the vast feature set and solid feel of the Hubitat. This is the hub you want. Bravo to all those that worked to make this product.
I like it! Although, I really wish that it would auto-rotate! I have a few tablets that sit in docks around the house, and being able to use the app to display the dashboard horizontally would be HUGE! I much prefer this to using the web interface for the tablets.
Needs work. GeoFence circle does not appear at initial setup after all permissions enabled, just close the app, come back after 5 min and then it shows up. If IP of the hub changed, you can search for the hub again and most of the app switches over to work with new IP, but the dashboard never does and keeps trying to access the old one until it errors out. Needs app reinstalled to fix. Would be great to have default dashboard set so it appears as soon as dashboard is selected. App needs work.
