Great app but the biggest downside is how complicated it is to switch teams or to have multiple team selected.
Works well on idevices, but cannot record on android. Sad that they are only attached to Apple. Many use android.
Hudl is an excellent service however, this app needs more work! The app for iPhone will allow you to see your team's report and click on certain stats and bring you to the tagged video. The app for android is stripped down and has very little options, I found myself using my phone's web browser to access my team videos instead of this app because of the lack of features.
Not friendly on android devices, doesn't have 5sec fwd / rev etc like on Apple of the same calibre and slightly unnatural to navigate for certain functions
Hudl on Android does not work very well. The amount of features are very limited. I am a student trying to use this app to watch film on my team as well as other teams and I cannot find the things I'm looking for. Please increase the quality for Android
keeps crashing when trying to watch film... fix it! overall the app is very outdated and should really be overhauled in terms of UI and UX
Terrible play back and Control of video. On iPhone you can go back 5 sec and forward 5 sec. All you can do is pause on android and then the screen turns dark.
Poor playback controls. Every time the video is paused, either manually or due to a notation entered by the coach, the screen darkens, lasting for several seconds after restart. So just when you want to see something important, the app makes it harder to see. Compared to the iOS app or web version there is a total lack of any sort of slow/fast play, jump forward or backward, or the ability to jump to next/last bookmark. Just Play And Pause. Frustrating when trying to review plays in detail.
I like that I can watch film from any sport I play, but the accessibility is very limited. All I can do is watch the film. Yeah, I know that's kind of the point. But, when i have a 3 hour film video of both the JV and Varsity games without the ability to skip, etc, is when it becomes a nightmare. I have to move the slider back and watch an extra 2 minutes prior to what I want to rewatch. If you are looking to actually study film, use a computer, not this. Needs a fast forward and rewind feature.
I have an android and have been using this app on it for the past 3 years, but for some reason the sound has stopped working in the videos. It's not vital to my highlights, I just really enjoy hearing the crowd. Help?? Edit: Turns out my coach is just uploading them without the sound :)
I had the technique hudl app installed on my old phone. Switch to this new phone and the technique app is no longer available. This hudl app is useless. All I can see is a search option to view highlights. There are no other features on the app. I will wait for a response that may help in some way. If this isn't sorted out soon I will just delete the app and look elsewhere.
It just opens with a feed page and nowhere to record video? It looks completely different.
As a coach we are always looking to give our athletes the best experience. However, when it comes to doing our stats, there seriously needs to be consideration into the android app where we can do our stats. Or have a separate Hudl stats app for android that links to our team profile so we as coaches can spend more time breaking down film. Also, a stats app that let's us coaches use a tablet to break down an opponents film. Just some suggestions.
User experience is so far from good on android. Why aren't the same mechanics Apple employs made available to Android users?!
Android app is awful for watching the video. It does not or I cannot find the setting to skip/go back 5 seconds or slow motion. I am also unable to filter to certain parts of the video like showing only rebounds or assists. These features NEED to be added for Android.
All my videos are lost when I opened apps today. Can't download. Something must have happened. It used to be a very good app. . The videos are there on the Web version but the Web version does not allow slow motion. Please fix for android phone.
Coach uses Apple device to record videos and then shares them to me with an email. I can watch the videos on the Hudl website, but they don't show up in the Android app. Was told by help desk this is a bug but one they are not actively trying to fix right now as they don't have any developers working on this Android app.
Starting to really dislike this app.. can't view highlights with the continuous cycling. Once highlight starts it to play it stops then starts to cycle highlight starts to play again then repeats to cycling. I have uninstalled and reinstalled app. Same thing happens. Please help.
Really disappointed in this app. Have used it before purely as a recipient to be sent videos, but now want to use it on my android phone (Galaxy G 10) to record my own videos in slo mo. Have installed it to the phone but cannot get any sense on how to access it or use it to record the videos, even clicking on help is unhelpful!
I'm just wondering why there are more options on the iPhone version than there are in the Android version. For instance when you're watching a video you can go in and select a certain player to see just their highlights That's on the iPhone version but not on the Android version
Very basic from a functional standpoint. Needs a slow mo button and the ability to see and manage the team from the side menu. All you can see now is library, scripts, and playbook. No ability to add/share notations.
What happen to this business? I use to see my uploaded videos and I don't anymore. I use to be able to move a video back and forth from a ruled line at the bottom. The app seems to have been gutted off all or most of the features. What happened? Very strange.
It's great, only one little suggestion. Having a button that skips back 10 or 15 seconds so I can rewatch the play without having to pinpoint the bar where I want it. Otherwise it works great.
Unfortunately this is not an app to record your athletes and then review the video. It appears to be an add-on for the browser version of Hudl. Pretty unfortunate as technique was a great app for coaches of all sports.
Great app for football. I can watch film, study the plays, and communicate with coaches all in one app. I just wish there was a "keep me signed in" button because a lot of times it logs me out on its own.
Everyone I know has the updated version with the fast forward options and etc. But I haven't been even given the option to update the app, please fix this so I can watch my film more efficiently.
Not compatible on devices listed Not compatible even though it appears as reccomandation from play store Not compatible on most Android devices older than 4 years old
