The app is great, I especially like the simple and very clean map interface, you really do not need to see all the area details around where you are travelling, such as roads you cannot get to especially when on the highway, It's perfect... But one thing I would like is the ability to download maps in advance, sometimes the internet is not great and it takes too long to download the route. The is especially the case when travelling internationally.
The app is terrible. Even with stable internet, I've only been able to load one map but that map to work said it was twice my normal commute (I pretty much only have highway driving and it does not take 2 hours). The vizr is pretty cool, but essentially useless without the app. HOWEVER, I found another HUD app (not sure if it's the same company) called Navier HUD. So far, it seems much more promising. Navier loads maps quicker, has a much easier to use interface, and seems much more accurate.
Nice idea but this app does not work for me. every time I tried it, it froze mid way or instructions were way off. had to stop the car and launch google map to finish the job! I hate how the ETA works. it calculates and updates it all the way. So for the first 10-15 minutes of your drive, you have a totally unrealistic ETA than it gets better. I really wish the app would work better because I love the HUD concept.
I have used this app twice now and both times I was disappointed with it. The first time I went on a road trip which should have been a 49 minute drive. It ignored 2 exits which turned a 49 minute trip into a 2 hour drive. The main cause was the voice assist was not working. My settings were set correctly and my phone volume was up. My second trip was a 31 minute trip. Still no voice assistant. Then the program went to settings while traveling on the interstate. Needs work, not happy.
Very surprised with the effect of the HUD, really pleased with the help that they given to me. In hours they emailed me and told me what i have to do, they even sent a video for better understanding. Otherwise the app is very good, maps are loading kinda slow but's ok. I would like to have real-time traffic data but I like to think that they already thought about this.
The maps will just not load and give me directions even after it has downloaded the map it sits at the black screen with road outlines and a position arrow and the map spins on and off around the arrow. It worked great when I first used it last year and I subscribed for a year. But has not worked for about 9 months. But it automatically resubscribed itself for another 12 months. Which is annoying. But even after resubscribing when I open the app it opens in free mode and I have to press premium
Incorrect map data. First time I attempted to use it, it would have had me drive through a concrete barrier, up onto a curb, down a walkway, and back down off the curb onto a road.... rather than drive 30 feet down the alley I was parked on, onto the same road. The IDEA is beautiful. The app looks great, and works well, besides the map data being potentially dangerous.
Crashes whenever i click "Let's Go" Even if i choose the same place in history it crashes. Just installed it. It was the very first place i tried to go. Tried 3 more places and keeps crashing. I could reinstall the app but it was freshly installed and this is the first time using this version. Upgraded from old version. You ever going to fix the bugs? Its so unstable and buggy its unuseable.
Terrible! I liked the idea, but the map is very poor, refreshing rate is slow, jittering and circling of the map happens once in while, loading and calling search and results are very very slow. I own a galaxy s8 with 32GB, plenty of space, no other app is running, I leave and work in areas with best 4G coverage. My other Navigation apps work without any problem for the same commute, during the same daily hours.
As far as aesthetics go it's fine. As far as a GPS, navigator and others, it's not great. it gets confused easily and will display incorrect speed limits. I also find that when I'm about 5mins to my destination, the Navigation will start as if I'm heading back to where I started from which can be very confusing. not just the Navigation, it looks like all the apps Hudway have can be a bit jumpy.
Bought this app for it's HUD function. Installed it on a Galaxy A50, worked, no glitch. Modern, clear graphics. Tested home work some favorites against Google maps on my Note 8 simultaneously. Result: no discrepancies whatsoever in route execution. Maps initially load slower than Google's, but once loaded, rerouting is just as fast. Sometimes, Hudway Go is out by a few meters on turns, but the distance to turns is announced very early and clearly indicated. Scope to improve!
The app is kinda ok but it has a long way ahead, the roads in the map are not accurate, there's some roads in the map that doesn't exist on the ground and vice versa, the arrow indicating your movement is a bit slow, it's like it's updating every 1 sec or something, and you cant set a destination if your offline.
I originally gave this a bad review. I changed my mind because most functions workee after i made some adjustmens on my phone (the kms are measure incorrectly and will turn off some times - I had to pull over and turn it back on). Apparently you cannot use this navigation if you have a battery saver on... they should have noted that you can't do that.
Inconsistent. Sometimes starts in HUD mode, the reason for having it, other times it requires multiple attempts to get it to go to the same mode used many times before. Can be very frustrating when trying to update the destination and it keeps changing its presentation view.
Very basic navigation. Free app has limited adjustments. Gives audible distance in Kilometers and meters despite changing to miles in the limited settings. Requesting a 9 mile trip to a routine destination, this takes me in wrong direction over a dirt road, adding miles and extra time. I gave two stars because it correctly navigated to the correct destination.
I like the app in general. It's simple to use, I like the aesthetic when it's in hud mode, but my issue is that it doesn't lock the orientation and so when I have it in landscape and I go up an incline, it will change to portrait, making it unusable for driving.
I first used this app around 3 years ago, it was excellent and did it's work. It got my attention in the HUD mode, my parents were amazed to see it too. I know it drains your battery a bit more than google maps, but this HUD mode isn't in Google Maps. Give it some time to improve especially in the navigation aspect.....overall a good experience. Keep it up developers and testers
For the first two maps I searched, the app automatically selected a ridiculous route which would have taken me almost twice as long! Also seems to take a long time to load maps. I really like the HUD and dark aesthetic so I'm really bummed that this app does not seem to be very usable...
Hey I was wondering if you guys were planning on updating the hudway app, it it's allot of issues that needs attention and also needs added features like shortest distance and avoid toll and highways.. Also it has major glitches and lags, gives turn by turn indications after the actual turn. I really did like this app and would love to give it 5 stars and use it daily and mention it to others but it needs some work done to it.
Hud doesn't work. I'm using the z fold 3. Even at night I couldn't see the reflection...I have limo tint on both of my vehicles and I still can't see it. So I won't pay for anything unless I see it working...waze amd Google maps are better than this garbage...you shouldn't even get 1*
No street names if you don't go for directions. I was really looking for Google Maps' driving mode shortcut with reflective HUD support. I like not having to download huge maps (Sygic) but come on, not even major route numbers show up to label the roads in HUD mode (the map has it, but it's not backwards and thetefore no good reflected)
It did not work as well as what was shown on the youtube ad. the reflection on windscreen was poor and sometimes the map would disappear. The app has potential but there are a few bugs to work.out. i used it for 20 minutes before i switched back to Google Maps.
The navigation function on this app is garbage. It tells you to take exits that simply don't exist. Its not a matter of the maps just being out of date either. This was experienced in a major city (Houston) in an area where there hasnt been any road construction in at least 5 yrs.
The look of the app is perfect for a HUD. Like others I agree that the ETA calculation is not on a par with google maps or waze so needs a little work. Also the "You can't go back from this screen" message is annoying, especially when on other screens you can and must use back. However the reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because it does not run in split screen. I like to be able to run a music player like Google Play Music on screen at same time as seeing navigation info. Fix this and it will be a 5 star app and I might think about purchasing it.
